AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Effective Way To Mange Main CUI Globally

Jan 21, 2013

What is the simplest, most effective way to mange a "main" cui globally, while allowing users to sustain their own workspace environment? In other words, I wish to globally administer the CUI by periodically adding various corporate settings (e.g., custom menus, ribbons, commands, etc). At the same time, I want each user to be allowed to keep their personal Workspace environment settings as desired.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Use Pressure Pipes For Force Main

Aug 27, 2013

I am wanting to use pressure pipes for force main. If you do how do you add an air release manhole?  I tried to use an appurtenance part as an air release manhole. If I set the plan display to use a block it skews the block. For the appurtenance part I do not see that the pipe inverts are available for the pipe label. I thought pressure pipes would be for water mains and force mains. So, I am wondering what others do for Force main Pipes?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Model A Force Main With Several Vertical And Horizontal Bends?

I am trying to model a force main with several vertical and horizontal bends.  Getting the network set up and drawing in the pipe segments with the styles is a sinch, what I am having trouble with is modelling the horiz and vert bends to show up both in plan and profile view.  I have done many sany and storm profiles but this is a first time with a force main.  Does Civil 3d have the capability of modelling these or is this more of an MEP type task?

CorelDRAW X4 :: Effective Group Cloning

Jul 20, 2011

Cloning usually applies to a single object. For example if I take a square and make a clone of it, make any changes to the original, the clone will change.

However, if there's a group of a square, a text saying HELLO,  and a circle. I make a clone of this group. Then if I squeeze the only the circle in the original [thereby making it an ellipse], the clone won't change. Is there a way to do this?

GIMP :: Effective Shadows Technique

Aug 16, 2011

I've tried doing this on similar close-ups of my own characters, but I can't get it as good as done here: I know it requires layers, and the smudge tool to get the results. But what is the technique used here where the lines are like 'marching ants"?------is this simply the 'magic wand' tool? I also reckon that Gaussian blur is used here also.

The steps are not made clear on this very effective technique---also the GIMP typeface/controls are not in English, but hopefully some good folks on here can recognize the style used here.....it's just the sort of thing I'm looking for to bring a bit of depth to my cartoon character shading.

I'd love to introduce this technique [ So far, I haven't been able to get the the dodge/burn tool to work as effectively as some other GIMP users can, but I'll certainly return to it].

i did try creating a new surface - pasted the main surface in the edit definition, then deleted triangles until the boundary alighned wiht my featureline.  This seemed to work, but  when i view the properties of the smaller subset suface, it shows a mimum and maximum elevation that is incorrect.

If resorted to creating images ten times the target size and then reducing them later on to the target size, as i can control the FX much MUCH easier.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Equalize Material Appearances Globally In Whole Assembly In 2013?

Dec 9, 2012

In Inventor 2012 user has ability to change the material properties globally.

All parts using certain material will follow the changes made to properties and written to single library. It is clear and predictable.

In Inventor 2013 material properties belong to individual file.

When changes were done to appearance properties of a single part there could be situation when the same material parts in the assembly could have different appearance.

Here is the fact I do not understand and it is contradict to actual reality since the same material with the same standard must look absolutelly the same when switched to Master view.

Seems like to make parts look the same or to change the appearance I should click on each single file and make the same changes to each file.

I do not intend to change the appereance properties in single file on purpose to make problems to myself but I am sure I will take somebody else part and it will be changed due unnecessary reflection or other too much realistic things added in 2013. So finally I will get some sort of parrot collored assembly without clear and most importand easy way to make an order.

So I wish I could equalize all same material parts in apearance view. I do not count the way of clicking each file.
