Cloning usually applies to a single object. For example if I take a square and make a clone of it, make any changes to the original, the clone will change.
However, if there's a group of a square, a text saying HELLO, Â and a circle. I make a clone of this group. Then if I squeeze the only the circle in the original [thereby making it an ellipse], the clone won't change. Is there a way to do this?
im using psp cs2. when placing images in the composition its easy to get lost and to have your images in a low resolution due to transformation. is there a way to see the effective ppi of a layer content? by effective ppi i mean the resolution of an image in perspective to its size.
I've tried doing this on similar close-ups of my own characters, but I can't get it as good as done here: I know it requires layers, and the smudge tool to get the results. But what is the technique used here where the lines are like 'marching ants"?------is this simply the 'magic wand' tool? I also reckon that Gaussian blur is used here also.
The steps are not made clear on this very effective technique---also the GIMP typeface/controls are not in English, but hopefully some good folks on here can recognize the style used here.....it's just the sort of thing I'm looking for to bring a bit of depth to my cartoon character shading.
I'd love to introduce this technique [ So far, I haven't been able to get the the dodge/burn tool to work as effectively as some other GIMP users can, but I'll certainly return to it].
lastly i'm creating graphics for some tshirts that i would to get printed but paint.net for example says that image xyz is 9cm wide when the truth is that if i import it to wordpad with 100% dimension it results 22cm Now how can i know the real dimensions of an image?
I recently upgraded to LR 4.1, and I'm having a problem with the spot removal tool. I have 100% opacity selected, but it's only partially removing spots - looks as though it's only operating around 50 or 60%. Is there a feathering or hardness setting hidden somewhere?
What is the simplest, most effective way to mange a "main" cui globally, while allowing users to sustain their own workspace environment? In other words, I wish to globally administer the CUI by periodically adding various corporate settings (e.g., custom menus, ribbons, commands, etc). At the same time, I want each user to be allowed to keep their personal Workspace environment settings as desired.
I have a dwg showing both sides of a dinette. One side ("Left Booth") was grouped & then duplicated. The duplicate ("Right Booth") was mirrored and moved to the other side. I "UnGrouped" the duplicate ("Right Booth" - not shown in the attached clip), but I can not UnGroup the original "Left Booth" grouping. The original grouping has NO special effects (drop shadow, etc.), simply a group of lines, curves and rectangles. I can't find any "attachment" between the two.
i have 63 grouped objects - some of which include artistic text. I have worked with CD for a while now and have never had this happen. what have i done??
 (setq nblock (vla-get-Effectivename(vlax-ename->vla-object block )))
I get the effective name dynamic block.  (if (nblock (= "test_block"));;;--->Which is the correct form? (command "_insert" "LABEL" pt1 "" "" "") );end if (if (nblock (= "test_block2"));;;;Which is the correct form? (command "_insert" "LABEL2" pt1 "" "" "" ) );end if repeat for all enames block  How i can select block to insert according to effective name?
I am trying to group 10 objects together but every time i try to group them I get a message saying "Operation could not be completed. Active layer document grid is locked or invisible."Â
But even when i turn on the document layer visibility it still won't let me group them, and I can't turn the print or edit buttons on.
I have created a pine branch. This branch consists of needles. I would like the needle object to be possible to change in the future, so I made it a symbol.
After making the branch consisting of symbol needles (just a bunch of needles, grouped or not), it is not possible to use envelope on the branch and bend it. It can only be rotated or sized. Is it normal? How to create varieties?
I am always having a great problem while modeling knees and elbows. Some people say put three loops on knee and some people say put 5??.. If i put too many loops then it collapse while deforming and when i put less then it won't deform properly...
I just want to Know is there any effective topology technique for knees to deform naturally and which should look realistic while the character is on squatting positions.
I downloaded a file and when I try to group everything, the option is not available, it's greyed out. The status bar says curve on layer 2. I have another object on layer 1 and had no problem grouping.
I've asked this in the X5 board before, gave up, and it's still bugging me with X6.

So I group a few objects, apply drop shadow to the group, and now I want to select one of the object in the group (to move it or resize it, etc).
I just can't find an effective way to do this without discarding the drop shadow, edit, and reapply the drop shadow. There have been many suggestion that seems to work for certain people, i.e. Ctrl+Click, Ctrl+Alt+Click, Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Click, but none works as desire.
In the attached example, I try to select the red square. If I Ctrl+Click, it selects the whole group. If I Ctrl+Alt+Click,  it either selects the yellow circle, or edits the drop shadow.
If I Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Click, the result is random. It either selects the blue background square, or selects the yellow circle, or edits the drop shadow, and once in a blue moon successfully selects the red square.Â
I have 3 objects A, B, C, I group them together, apply a drop shadow. Now, let's say I need to resize or reposition one of them, I'm unable to select the particular object.
It's suppose to work with Alt+Ctrl+Click, but it doesn't.I always end up with editing the drop shadow rather than selecting the object. It's very trouble some needing to discard the drop shadow, make the changes, and re-apply the drop shadow.
if I have a group of areas that I want filled... I can select uniform, fountain, and postscript... but why doesn't pattern work for a group? This would be useful and seems like a bug. Why would I have to apply the fill to each part of the group? Groups are supposed to be useful for manipulating multiple objects in this way.
I have a large group of objects, all one color. I need to make a subtle change to the color. Is there a easy way to change all the colors in a group of object to another specific color? Some objects only have an outline, and some only have a fill without having to go through each object one by one in the object manager?
I find it extremely annoying to have to Ungroup named groups and then regroup and rename them in order to do a multiple selection of group members. I find I'm constantly ungrouping and regrouping in order to select/edit.
Note that the multiple items are often not the same type of object (e.g., text, line, shape, etc.).
A macro that will group all alike colours on a page and then copy them to a new page?
We used to have this feature on a product called Vinyl Master. It is really good, but I don't want to run 2 systems for my artwork. We mostly do digital output, but have the requirement to cut vinyl too, mainly for mining vehicles.
It would save a heap of work if we could group all alike colours, then copy to another page, ready for output. Even better if they were nested.
Is there a quick way to sort or group like colors of curves together automatically? Â For instance, If I go through and color a vector - I want to have all the purple together, and all the orange together, etc.
I'm working on a drawing of an airplane, it has lots and lots of objects. I need to change the color of a bunch of these objects without affecting their stack order.
In a simple example, the left wing and the right wing need to be blue, but the fuselage in between them needs to stay white. If I group the wings, it moves them both on top of the body.
Is there any way to re-color all my airplane parts with one click without moving them all to the front?
When I group a few objects together, and apply drop shadow to the group, I cannot edit the individual object in the group (cannot pick it to move it or resize it etc) without removing the drop shadow.
Is it possible to generate a group of shapes with different size randomly in corelDraw macro? For example I want to generate 100 squares with different size and distribute them into the sheet automatically.
I use this program for a long time, but never before I have had to use this tool in this way. Could the text be arranged as shown in the figure without breaking Callout Group Apart, and if so, how?
I have table, several chairs and some glasses and plates on table. I want to group them and instance that group, hundred of times. Problem is that I do not have materials implemented and I will not until client is satisfied with arrangement. I have problems later, even using many scripts I found, to add material to all instances. Only way is to select one by one.
Other thing is that there might be new objects added into set, so best way would be to add to master group and that will be added in instances of that group automatically, but that does not work with Maya.
