Apr 10, 2012I have attached a view of a wall. I remember seeing a video showing how to take a wall detail like this. Cut and move the lower portion closer.

View 4 RepliesSome images in threads are now showing up with the lower portion of the picture blacked out. Its like there is a limit on how large the image can be. Many times what the posting memeber is trying to show is blacked out.

After I open a new layer, I cannot move to lower layers and relocate the images on the background anymore. Also, sometimes for no reason the image will freeze up and I can no longer move it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI need to move a portion of a jpeg image (a logo) a little bit to one side, then I will fill in the empty space. Do I need to save it as a .psd first? And which tool do I use?
I was trying to use one tool, not sure which one, and it told me the layer was locked. I couldn't figure out how to unlock the layer.
Is there an option to move just a portion of a layer (with the Move, Scale, or Rotate tools, for example) without having to first copy the portion, then delete it, and then paste it as a whole new layer?
For instance, if you have a picture of a house and there's a tree off to the side, and you want to shrink the tree a bit so the house looks bigger. Currently, I would ( a ) copy the tree, ( b ) delete that selection, and ( c ) paste the tree as a new layer....and then finally (d) shrink that.
But could I simply select the tree and shrink it on the same layer?
Having an issue with joining two vertices that are so close to each other, it isn't funny!! I just need to join 2 sets and I can move on to the next portion. Why these aren't joining?

I'm attempting to create a wall style that has 2 components, a framed wall and a brick veneer. What I would like to do is have this wall react a certain way when I insert a window. Basically, I don't want the window to cut into the brick veneer, only the framing.
I have attached my attempt so far, and I have not figured out how to get the window to only cut the framed portion.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening with 2013. The doors are no longer staying put when a wall is extended or trimmed. Somehow they now move relative to exthe endpoint of the wall. Happens with windows and openings as well.
Is there a new default setting I'm not aware of?
I am getting these white "ghost" boxes with every copy, move or mirror command. They can be individually deleted but that takes too long. The more there are the slower each command takes, to the point a copy can take over a minute. If I save and close then when I reopen they are gone -- until I execute a command. This is unique to a single file I recieved from a friend using a PC based Autocad; I use Autocad for Mac. I had no trouble with his file until I did a "Save As" and used it as a base for a new file. Now, every file that is a copy of it, even any file in which I x-ref it, has the same problem. All of my original, older files are fine. There is simply too much work in these (now) five files to start over. See attached.

View 6 Replies View Related1) when I go to the shortcut for my workspace in the menu items called "my workspace", CS2 asks me "do you want to save changes to the current shortcut file, before you reset the shortcut"
I'VE NEVER UNDERSTOOD THIS. this is the only shortcut in all of PHotoshop that ask me this question. I don't get it, and I've posted repeated about this.
I always choose no, since I don't understand why this and only this shortcut ask.
2) Why every few weeks do all the shortcuts I've assigned in the last month disappear? posted a few on this too with no resolution.
Now today got closer:
today, when I chose not to save the workspace shortcut (why I have to chose every time, still don't know), and then BAM, all my new shortcuts were discarded -- even ones that have been working consistent for last few weeks. why?
and... if I chose save, then a dialogue box comes up asking if want to replace current set of shortcuts. that's fine, but why would I be going through all that just to quickly get my workspace back in order? I don't get it.
I am totally new with photo editing and barely know anything about GIMP, so I need a ton of detailed explanation.

I want to make the girl in the middle closer to the two guys, right now it looks a bit awkward. How can I do this while keeping the integrity of the background.
I took a one-day course on Photoshop with NAPP and the instructor was showing us how to bring a photo closer together where the objects are closer but it doesn't distort the photo.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an important question about how to set up my files for print. In school I was taught to work in CMYK or at least convert whatever RGB file I'm working on to CMYK. I'm at work now and the files I am printing are coming out dull (in CMYK). I converted a file to RGB and assigned the RGB 1998 colour space and re printed it. The first CMYK print looked grey and was not vibrant. The new RGB print printed very vibrant and matched the screen colours better than the CMYK. My boss wants me to do the rest of the prints in RGB seeing as it prints with better vibrancy. Also, I am working in Illustrator.
So my question is: Can I convert all my CMYK files to RGB, send them to the printing company and expect the prints to be vibrant? Or will converting my CMYK files to RGB mess up the printing companies standards?
RGB prints better, but I was taught to always print in CMYK mode.
Actually I'm going to leave the files in CMYK since turning them into RGB may cause colour loss during the final large prints. I will print the presentation files in RGB though.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get the dimension text that I pull out to the side closer to the actual dimension marks. The 2 1/2" and 2" shown have a minimum distance they can get toward their dimensions. I would like it to be about half of what it is, but so far I haven't been able to find the property that changes that.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble getting the edges of my eyes to look like they are part of the chair, which got me wondering. Is there a way to feather my edges with increased intensity closer to the edge? To be specific, I'd like to start the feather 100px inside the border with 60% opacity, all the way to the edge (border) with 0% opacity. I tried doing this manually a couple of ways and it just didn't look uniform.
I have also tried with the eyes seperated (without the middle area), but I still have the same issues.
We are having this problem with all 8 of our AutoCAD stations.
If we go to Tools / Options / Open and Save / Thumbnail Preview Settings, in the "Sheets and Views" panel, the "Performance-Accuracy Slider" is set all the way to the right, which the Information Panel lists as "Update thumbnails when saving drawing".
This makes our SAVEs very long.
We can slide it to the middle and our SAVEs become very quick.
But we have to remember to change it for EACH drawing we open.
I forgot on the last one and has been saving for half-an-hour so far.
Is there any way to keep the slider in the middle for each time we open?
