While creating a drawing inserting 3d blocks after closing and reopening the file blocks have disappeared from veiw. When i mouse over the block it shows but goes as soon as i move the mouse. also when zooming different blocks show and disappear?
View 3 RepliesI am working on a 3D model using 3D solids and 3D blocks, then I make a render of a view and works fine, but if I make a zoom in to a zone and render it then the 3D blocks disappear showing only the floor (a 3D solid) and sometimes the render is just plain black, after a zoom out everything works fine. I made an Audit, exploded the blocks, even when making a crop render. Attached images explain better.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEditing attributed blocks causes them to disappear from the screen. Edits include changing attribute values, moving attributes, or moving the entire block. The block is not gone, so saving and re-opening the drawing will display it again, but this is a terrible workaround when moving and editing many blocks in a large drawing.
We do not use annotative or dynamic blocks, so these are just good old-fashioned attributed blocks.This behaviour is being seen on both Windows 7 and older Windows XP systems with various hardware specs, and it is only in the 2013 product. We still have some stations running Map 2012 that do not experience this issue even when working in the same drawings.
Whenever I zoom out in a drawing in Civil 3D with surface contours, some of the contours disappear. I imagine this is a result from a system variable setting but could not find it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I zoom in on a drawing, certain parts of the drawing will just disappear. Dimensions, title block, text...it doesn't matter, its different every time. It's not all the time but when it happens it's frustrating. Try dimensioning a part that isn't visible! When I zoom out to a full page view it always returns. When I zoom in again, parts will disappear. See attached screen captures and you will see the same file at different moments.

I click zoom object and that works but I don't want to do that every single time and even that isn't zoomed in enough.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to work with a block by changing the x or y value in properties -- but when i do, the block disappears. i don't work with blocks very often, but someone i'm working with sent me his blocks and i can change the height or width very easily in the properties window -- and his blocks don't disappear!
why are mine disappearing?
The problem happens in different blocks created in Autocad 2009. I need to make blocks with many visibilities and, sometimes, only a few lines need to be turned invisible from a visibility state. Many times when I remove the visibility of a line from a single visibility state, the line erased on all the visibility states. I make my lines "all visible" and it's not there anymore.
The problem is probably in my block since it's doing the same problem on someone else's computer. If the problem is my block, is there a way to "uncorrupt" it?
I have a drawing with some annotative blocks. ie Block name "BAR'.
If I insert another drawing (mostly old v2000 files) as a block which also contains blocks named "BAR" (which of course are non-annotative) the Blocks do not show up.
Is there any way to get arround this? Idealy I would like the old file inserted and have the annotion scale of the blocks in the inserted dbg set to the current scale.
Is it just me or do the actions associated with parameters disappear on occasion from the block editor? Sometimes a regen will make them reappear, other times not. Closing/opening the block editor is one way to make them visible again (worked a few times at least).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI usually use my mbutton to pan dwg. Just started using AutoCAD 2013 and I notice it zoom extents everytime I press the mbutton (the middle scrollwheel button). How do I disable this zoom extents?
One more thing, how do I disable the annoying auto complete whenever I type in a command? It seems to be slowing my work flow.
While using V2013, the middle button on the mouse to pop up the snap chart (mbuttonpan set to 0), I'm getting the zoom extents command in the middle of a command using snap from, then snap endpoint.
Here a quick example: while using hotkeys, I type c for copy-select objects-right click-choose basepoint, (here's where the problem occurs), middle mouse F(from) middle mouse E (endpoint). If I middle mouse F (snap From) pause then middle mouse E (snap endpoint) this works as it should. I click through the commands fast and it's slowing me down every time it zooms to extents in the middle of the command, which makes me zoom back in or cancel & undo.
Using 2014AutoCAD. Sometimes when zooming in using the mouse wheel by 1 click it the view will go from being zoomed out to zooming past the object in my drawing. this is happening in different drawings.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to 2013 from 2007 and I am having some weird trouble with the move command. I will try to explain.. I type the move command and then select a particular object I would like to move a little and it grabs some (not all) of other objects/lines near it and then stretches the lot in all directions! It actually doesn't allow me to move it at all without stretching/extending all these areas. I have tried everything I can think of and am not sure what I am missing. I thought it was somehow related to the polyline I was selecting, but it does it to single lines as well.

Sometimes on my "Draw" toolbars, all of my icons disappear! Passing the cursor over it, than they reappear! Made same thing in ACAD 2012.

When I go into the drawing file I want to xref and use the "-DWGUNITS" command I change it from feet to inches and use Architectural. Answer yes to all questions and certain objects disappear. Most of the objects are pline or spline objects. Here is what I see in the AutoCAD Text Window:

There a lot more of scaling failed messages. too many to show. How can I xref in these drawings with different units without objects disappearing?
When I select more than 100 entities all of the grip points disappear. With ACAD 2002 there seemed to be no limit to the number of entities you could select without losing the grips, but with ACAD 2007 they started dissapearing though with '07 clicking "View" "Regen" would bring them back into view (unless you accidentally click on another entity). With ACAD 2013 if I go over 100 that's it. This is mostly a problem for me as I use the spacebar shortcuts extensively in creating and manipulating my drawings. I have found other ways to to acomplish my needs such as using the move command but I have much successful history using my old methods and would like to continue with them.

I have a Skeletal assembly of a cabinet with hinges on the left hand side when facing the front. When a customer requires the hinges to be on the right hand side, I need to make the lock keep disappear from the Right hand side panel sub-assembly and make it appear in the Left hand panel sub-assembly.
At the moment, I have the lock keep, the BOM structure in the file is Normal, this is overidden in the assembly to being Reference for the first instance, the lock keep is fully constrained in both sub assemblies and both are in an array of only 1. I increase the value of the array from 1 to 2 and by a distance of zero(0), the newly added part would have a BOM structure of Normal, consequently it would then appear on the BOM. This method was something I last used when using IV2009, it was a method I used to control both visibility of parts in assembly drawings and on BOMs.
I'm now using 2013 and arraying a part with a overidden BOM structure of Reference makes the new part a reference part aswell even though the file itself is BOM structure of Normal.
On some computers I have a problem. The down arrow at the right of the quick access toolbar doesn't show. I checked that my interface is not lock too. So to customize the quick access toolbar I have to use the CUI.
I don't know if it's related, but my customize toolbar (from my partial menu) have to be displayed manually each time I start AutoCAD but not my custom tab in the ribbon.
I just completed my first topo using Civil3D 2013 (yay!) and now I want to send it to a client. However, when I save it as an ACAD 2007 file and go to open it using ACAD 2007 the spot elevations and all text and symbols associated with them disappear. I can't imagine that you have to have Civil3D to view a Civil3D file. Is there something I can do here?
I did not create a survey database with these points, just imported the .txt file from the field.
Having problem with sheet views losing all their numbering??
Have been using sheet views since the day they came out. Great for cross referencing and not just call outs. But also lists of materials etc. as well. See attached image.
However recently when opening a drawing, boom the views lost all there numbers and restored the name back to what i originally called the view!

Is there any way not to show a particular block in block definition table ? My program bring a block into drawing thru a user form . And set some Xdata to it after insertion . If user bring the block manually into drawing then how would we know which one has xdata and which one doesn't. I came to this solution to hide it in block definition list.
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen I insert a block that is made up of different layer lines and shapes then they only show up in the model tab. The other layouts I have won't show the blocks even though the same layers are turned on and unfrozen in these other layout viewports just like the model space. It's looking like trying to use multilayer dynamic blocks will be pretty useless unless they work in every layout viewport and not just in model space.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe recently updated all of our software at my company from 2010 architectural desktop to 2013 autocad. We do a lot of architectural work where we use the "wall" functions to draw our floorplans. I have noticed that the walls are disappearing on some files and not on others. Or we will only be able to see the outside line of the wall, but not the interior, which results in an undesirable appearance to the floorplans.
I have also run across these error messages when opening the files, I dont know if they are related or not:
"Unhandled exception C0000005 (access violation reading 0xffffffff) at address E43AA180h"
and
"Unhandled exception C0000005 (access violation reading 0xffffffff) at address D41218AEh"
Our Surveyor created the Point Styles and description keys for processing our field work. These were incorporated in our template. Yesterday he brought in field work an noticed that only a few of the symbols incorporated into the markers came in.
The blocks exist in the drawing but when you go to edit the point marker only 8 out of 152 blocks show in the window below "Use AutoCAD BLOCK symbol for marker". I tried a backup of that template from 5 months ago and got the same results. I've verified that the blocks still exist in the drawing both by listing them and exploring them in Design Center. If I try other templates the window shows all the blocks.
I have tried Audit and Recover with no improvement. Thirteen errors fixed but the blocks still don't show. Additionally I found a backup of the template from Feb., 2013 and get the same problem but the lack of blocks only just occurred.

I have a block of a guide sign with directions and azimuth angles. I made arrows rotatable and angles were changing ok. But when I try to rotate an arrow into zero position, dimension shows 180. I need the dimension to show 0 degree. How can I do it?
And I can’t make angular dimension show degrees greater than 180 even if I specify vertex – after rotation angle shifts on the other side. I gave up and used back azimuth.
And I can't make an attachment: "The contents of the attachment doesn't match its file type"?
