When I try to add a plotter, I get a message, "No DRC files were found in Autocad 2013 - English drivers directory."
The DRC files are in the DRVen-US directory, and is in my drivers search path. I have even changed the order of the search path to place that directory first, but no joy.
The Add-A-Plotter Wizard has become corrupted, and will not run on any computer in the office. We get a message about missing DLLs. I think I used to know how to add plotters "by hand", before the Add-A-Plotter Wizard existed. Can I still do this, and if so, how?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince we've migrated to Windows 8 64b we have problems wih plotting some layouts. If I select my plotter it automatically goes to none after selecting and sometimes I get the following error message:
Most of the times I can use the plotter in the other layouts / drawings, but sometimes I have to restart AutoCAD or reboot the computer before the plotter works again. In some layouts we keep getting this problem even after reboot. I've tried reinstalling the plotter (with different drivers), tried different computers, purge and recover the drawings but no luck. The Plotter is a HP Designjet 800.
How do I get my CTB file into my plotter manager? It keeps asking for a PC3 or PC2 type file. The plotter style manager creates only a CTB. The old autocad version HAD a "plot style" pic window. this one does not. I want to create a "plotter" that writes PDF's using my CTB file info.

I just received 2013 lt and want to know the best solution for setting up a HP Designjet 750c Plus to begin plotting. Apparently there is no support from HP for Windows 7 drivers. I'm no expert but what I've read it seems that I can use the HDI driver. Go slow since this i new to me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently (this morning) come into the issue of the old plot printers being saved in CAD files. I've found a number of tutorials online about adding new pages, and setting the default plotter to "none" via DWGTruView, but these are just shy of what I'm looking for.
Is there any way to tell AutoCad 2013 that if the current/default plotter is "None" to set it to a certain printer? I have about a thousand CAD files that need this change made on them, so obviously a more automated approach would be greatly appriciated. Currently the entire set of them has has their Plotters set to "None", and a custom Page Setup configured.
I am using AutoCAD LT 2013 and at the moment i am just using the dwg to pdf.pc3 included in AutoCAD.
All of the text in my drawings is the same font (ISOCPAUS). Up until about a week ago, i could plot bold & italic text using the dwg to pdf plotter. Now, I cannot and i don't know what has changed to make this happen. Underlined and overlined text still plots fine to pdf. Everything appears correct in model space, paper space layouts, in previews and if i plot to any of the printers in the office, but once i plot to pdf, the bold and italic is gone.
I recently purchased Coreldraw Home and Student Suite from my local computer store, on there advice that this would work with a vinyl plotter.
I have since installed the software and it has not worked as it is not compatible with vinyl plotters.
All the times, when i try to insert any DWG file in Inventor 2014 nothing appears in the wizard (see attached).
I tried to install the new Update for the Inventor 2014, but nothing changes.
I attached one DWG to you test it too.
I would like to know how it would be possible to manipulate the Intersection Wizard so that I can obtain the required shape as drawn by the architect. In essence create a "round about" shape. see the attached image for furhter detail.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having some trouble with .fbk files disappearing after I import them. I'm sure I am missing a setting somewhere but I don't know where. I have a (slightly clunky) workaround on setting things up correctly.
We went straight from LDD 08 to Civil 3d 13 so it is a bit of a learning curve.
I am trying to use Civil 3d 2013 with Trimble Link. My procedure is to download the file with trimble link and then follow the wizard from there. My .fbk imports fine, but if I need to edit anything I find that it is missing from the folder that I just imported it from.
If I copy and rename the .fbk prior to importing it I can import and edit the re-named file no problem, it just seems to be the initial import done by the wizard that deletes the file.
I think it is not possible but .... Is there any way to reuse the wizard I have customized to create the intersection ?

When I start the layoutwizard and proceed to the insert title block the only choice I have is none. I have several title blocks created and cannot remember where to tell Cad to look. I just setup a new PC and installed AutoCad 2011.

I am currently trying to design a roadway with a reverse curve in it. I am having trouble getting my corridor to model my assembly correctly as it is showing the roadway as the generic assembly and is not adding the superelevation that is shown on my alignment. I have done the following:
1) created an alignment with superelevation wizard - superelevation diagram shows up correctly
2) Created a profile for this alignment
2) created an assembly (Road layer is LaneSuperelevationAOR) in which the right lane is set to use SE on the right outside lane and the left lane is set to use SE on the left outside lane
3) Created a corridor with the assembly and set the width targets to the offset alignments (I.e. the lines that are the edge of pavement)
The corridor does not show the superelevation values based off of the alignments superelevation that it has calculated. I did get the supers to show when i tied the Future EOP to the existing surface, however i do not want it to tie in, I want it to just show the values that were calculated.
Is there a way to get this to show without referencing an additional profile? Also, on my first curve i want to keep the right side at a -2% slope and raise the left side to 2% slope (RC). Is there a way to limit the calcuations to only use a reverse curve?
I've been using the drawing resource transfer wizard for years now, and all of a sudden it is very slow.
Usually it goes through the process of updating a drw in seconds, but now it takes second per item it copies to a drw.
Is there something that could be causing this?
Is there a logical work flow to apply a new or updated drawing title block to a large number of IDW's that are in a vaulted project?
The Drawing transfer wizard looks to be a good tool, I just can't see how to handle getting all the IDW's checked out of the vault, updated and back into the vault in an automated way.
OK, since installing autocad 2012, and installing the office profile, which directs to a folder on our server to our plot style folder. Fairly typical medium office setup where settings come from an AutoCAD Settings folder, from support, fonts CUI etc etc.
There is the plot style wizard shortcut in this folder. In past releases this has been ignored, however now every time you open a new drawing we receive the error prompt, "The following shortcuts in the search were invalid and ignored" and then indicates the file path location. What's the deal?!
Now while i shouldn't have to, yes i have simply attempted to delete the shortcut in question but it showed up again.
I recently had an issue with the Drawing Resource Transfer Wizard. I went to go update a drawing and my custom title block was no longer an option to choose. I believe I used it Monday and it worked fine. I am using Inventor 2013.

Civil 3D (2013) how much you have to improve....
I ran into a problem with the structural member wizard today. I was making up a bunch of glulams and everything was doing just fine, then all of a sudden the wizard stopped accepting new values for the member depth. No matter what you try to enter, it is rejected and a value of 1'-0" is placed in the field. It will accept new values for both width and lamination depth however. I tried to make a member of another material (steel) just in case it was just the glulams. No luck, they behave the same way, you can't set the beam depth. I also tried restarting ACA, working in a completely new (and clean) file, as well as restarting my computer, it didn't work.
I really don't want to have to go through the repair/reinstall circus if I don't have to.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHave a big subdivision job I want to divide up for maximum collaboration. So I though put each alignment in a separate dwg and dref into another with the corridor model. One big problem the intersection wizard will not lock PV onto the drefed alignments and profiles as they are read only.
Question : How does one work around this?
Any opinions or tips on using the Intersection Wizard to create an intersection and then editing it to incorporate a spandrel or am I better of not even using the wizard and creating the spandrel from feature lines/alignments?
