I am trying to setup different published sets to different folders (multi-sheet and single-sheet) but have no success on changing the default file location in Publish Options.
The photo files I import to Lightroom get saved under "Photos" and then under folders by date. I'd like to save them to the cloud (dropbox). How do I change their destination so they save there automatically?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using 50 AutoCAD Network License and all data is on server not on local PC. When i try to save drawing it say's unable to save. Only save as is working that also i have to give different name for the file to save.
All other software's (Like Word, Excel etc.) are fine with saving data files on the same server's. Is there any Autocad variable to be changed.
i am using autocad 2013 student version at home and at college i am using autocad 2012. so when i create drawing in 2013,dosent open on 2012"it says incompatible version". i like to save all my dwg files automatically in 2011 format, i dont want to click save as and change it 2011 format.what i need is whenever i finsh working on drawing, if click save it should automatically save in 2011 format.
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan you save files for 2012 in 2013? I have the ability to upgrade to 2013 while others at my company are not able to, since they were not put on the subscription service. If I upgrade will they still be able to open my files or can I back save to a previous version? I know I can save it as different file type, like .iges or .step, then use feature recognition. But I need them to have full editability to sketches and features.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a newly downloaded version of AutoCAD LT 2013 that will not save files in older formats for autocad 2004 and 2007. When trying to save the user gets the following error message "One or more objects in the drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created."
I did some searching in the discussion groups and it appears that this is a known/common issue with autcad lt 2013. Is there a work around to saving it in a format that older autocad applications can view?
So I have 25 years 3d CAD experience. Catia, Alias, Ford PDGS.I have spent 20 hours on Inventor 2013. Great program. Very intuitive. Have been banging out models easily.
My issue however is a Client has given me sone .stp's and Iges files to work with. They open fine as a .iam The issue is saving. I have the project folder setup, go to save.
I Get the "do you want to save changes to "XXXXXXXX.iam" and all its dependants.I select "yes to all".I get the "Yes" under the "Save" Column for all listed .ipt's...I hit OK.......Autodesk attempts to save.
...Then I get the dialogue box up with ! icons "The system cannot find the path specified" - The database in C:Users.........xxxx.ipt could not be saved
I have some AutoCAD 2013 users in our Fabrication department who are having problems saving R12 dxf files to a network location. When they try to save they get a message that states "Unable to save to drawing N:Bend|5130Xfilename.dxf. Drawing saved to N:Bend|5130Xsav6A0D.tmp" (See attachment for actual message)
The temp file does not get saved either. They can save R12 dxf files locally and to other network locations. They are able to save 2013 dwg and dxf files with no issues. This problem just affects R12 dxf files which they need for programming pressbrakes.
They can save to 2013 dxf files and then overwrite with R12. After that they cannot save again and get the message again.
User workstations vary.
All are Dell Precision workstations and laptops
Windows 7 x64 with 16 GB of RAM
All are running Nvidia Quadro graphics cards with certified drivers
AND/OR a open tab recovery cache or way to extract the images that get lost during a crash of PDN.
Number two on my list behind your fantastic new layer functionality that I had been dreaming about for three years. I NEVER close PDN. The ONLY time it closes is once every week or two when the 20, 30, 50 tabs that I have open, finally overwhelm my system. I bounce back and forth so much that there is no way to continuously save them as I make changes cause it would jack up my workflow by taking up too much time.
No way around it, this is just how I work. It would be lovely if PDN was able to, similar to After Effects, popup an error box saying it was about to crash and did 'you" want to save the session. Especially, now, with 4, as while it is a super duper version upgrade, the crashes were daily, with me, and I couldn't keep losing that much data. Sophie's choice, for me. The old layer window or daily crashes.
I use autocad architecture 2013 and it works just fine until the save turns to qsave whenever i want to save a drawing by save, save as and ctrl+s it works as qsave..how can I turn it back to SAVE ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedPerhaps I have changed a setting inadvertently, although lately the following has been occurring when using the built in AutoCad DWG to PDF plot:
- if I plot a single sheet, I can choose the save location and it is all good
- if I go file publish and print multiple layouts at once (into the pdf), I am not given the option of where it can be saved, instead it is saved in the location the last pdf was (annoying when that is different job folders etc)
What do I need to change to fix it so I can always choose the save location?
Using 2011 on W7 64 bit machine. When I try to set the location for the "Autosave File Location" or the "Temp Dwg File Location", I get the attached error message. I've done everything I know to fix it to no avail. I am on my personal laptop, I am an admin will full control rights of course, I've made sure the folders are not read only...
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to set old versions folder to save to a different location than the working folder?
Our IT deletes these folders from our server, so I would like to have them save to my hard drive.
How do I change the default save location?
It goes to my documents, but in options I can't find anything with that path.
I want it to go to a different folder but I can't figure out how to make it do that.
We have about 25 users on Inventor working via a common network on multiple projects, we do not have vault.
In using the content center, I see one has to specify the location of instanced content center parts under options>file>>Default Content Center files. Is there no other way to get the instanced content center parts to save under the specific project file location without changing it manually each time via options>file>>etc. Is there a setting under projects?
I´m trying to create an external iLogic rule that let´s the user specify a path and saves an assembly and all it´s components into one directory. Alternatively it could be the main workspace path which doesn´t have to be specified by the user so it can be handled internally.
The background is a design template that resides on a network storage which can be configured through an iLogic Form and when the user is done configuring the assembly to it´s liking it should be saved to it´s workspace.
I was looking through the snippets but couldn´t find anything related to "save all". I have the feeling that I have to cycle through all component occurences and save them one by one.
Getting a Save As dialog box seems to be possible as I could see on Curtis Waguespack´s blog but the commands he is using are nowhere documented. For example for calling the dialog box he is using
InventorVb.Application.CreateFileDialog(oFileDlg)
In my quest to remove any unnecessary clicks I want to be able to set the default location when you press Save, Save As, Demote or 'Save and replace component'.
Default it will show up a file save as dialogue starting from my workspace. Or my last saved location. I believe this is stored in the registry and hope to Intelligent adjust these registry value's using VBA.
When diving into the registry I believe I found the right keys here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAutodeskInventorRegistryVersion17.0SystemPreferencesFileDialog
Problem 1:
- if i change them manually I don't find a difference in Inventor (If I change other things in the registry, this has an effect)
Problem 2:
how do I set them automatic using VBA? I've got the strings sFileLocation & sFileName true the rest of my code. So I would need to do something like:
Dim oRegFileSave as Regisry entryset oRegFileSave as
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAutodeskInventorRegistryVersion17.0SystemPreferencesFileDialogLastFileSaveDialogoRegFileSave = sFileLocation & "/" & sFileName
For your information, these are the registry entry's I believe I need to adjust:
I would like to have our newly created Content Center parts end up in a vault folder location unique to them. This will manage our conversion from the standard parts to our custom parts. Unfortunately, Inventor automatically saves these to the en-US folder. How can I set parts to automatically save to the Content Center/Roberts Standard Parts location as shown (attached) when they are inserted in an assembly.

Is there a way to change the default save location for imported components? I can't stand the default "Save in Workspace" option which creates the dreaded & useless (IMHO) "Imported Components" folder.
I know how to change it during an import by clicking the "Options..." button. But if I or another one of our users forgets to do that, then things get saved to the "Imported Components" folder. This becomes particularly annoying with library files.
I cant't save copy as PDF when I point to a nework location, It's working when I save directly on my computer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have inserted a jpeg into autocad (a map to roughly draw more information on). In model space it only shows the map and the info I want but in layout space it has a print along the jpeg showing where the image is saved. How can I get rid of the print?
It's Autocad 2013.
The default file location for the template .dwt file in my AutoCAD options keeps resetting to None (see attaached, red arrow). It should be the same location as the line below it (see attached, green arrow). I have reset it a few times now, but it keeps reverting back to None. Do you know why this is happening and/or how I can fix it so the setting will stay?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a little problem, in that we were trying to match up an existing text called Helvetica, only to find out that it wasn't in the text style box to bring it up to use. View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are having an issue with the xloadpath variable. We currently have a bunch of .ac$ files in the project folders on the network. We are trying to set the temp xref file location to the same folder as the temp drawing files (located on each user's hard drive).
After specifying a location for these temp files, the location is blank once the drawing is closed and opened again (which means they are in the folders on the network).
Why is this folder location resetting to default (no location given) when the drawing is closed and opened up again? Shouldn't this be the same as selecting the folder for the temp drawing files?
Looking for a reference that shows what the default file path locations are for various AutoCAD user files. Specifically, I had my AutoCAD file paths changed and cannot find where my blocks are saved. I'd like to save the blocks I create in a specific folder.
View 9 Replies View Relateddirection of where the DEFAULT SCALE LIST is stored in the C: drive?
I have set it up in the option tab and all is working, but will soon be installing several new PC's with AC and want to drop the stored file straight into the new PC's rather than having to type them out one by one on each PC.
I'm having problem changing the default location for templates in Application Options of Inventor 2013. If I set the location to a folder in my server, the template files aren't showing up. It's like there's nothing there. I've never found this problem before. The templates are shared on the network, so it's the same for everybody. Now it's necessary to everyone copy them locally, which is not the best practice in my opinion.
