With the new "Display but not plot" option for Wipeout, I notice that the frame shows when I pass over it and is selectable. Can the frame be off and not selectable/visible, which is how it worked for me previously?
View 4 Repliesi have a question about wipeouts. I have just upgraded to acad 2014 from 2011. Now in 2014, I can turn off wipeout frames, but if my mouse crosses over one, it highlights so I can select it. How do i turn that off? I don't want the frame to highlight unless i select it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy modelspace is showing thru my wipeouts... But the wipeouts are active and I have remade the viewports with the same result. I've used draw order with no change. And here's the kicker. It (the Wipeout) hides the viewport frame, but not the actual model space material being shown thru the viewport. It remains visible.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2010 and are having an issue with our wipeouts not displaying properly when we make a pdf using DWG to PDF in AutoCAD 2013.
It seems to happen when a wipeout is in an XREF and has many points, such as if you are trying to make it circular. The wipeout does not seem to function (you can see everything behind it).
When making a pdf using adobe or just making a .plt using a printer driver it displays properly but not with the dwg to pdf. I have tinkered with the display order, the display settings, the merge control setting, etc. so far nothing has worked. I have gone into the file that is XREF'ed into my active drawing and made a pdf from there and it looks ok but not when it is XREF'ed into another drawing. I have many blocks that have "circular" wipeouts in them that are not displaying correctly.
know if Autodesk came up with a real solution to fixing Wipeouts besides having to remove SketchBook designer from your computer?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have set my wipeout frames to "off" however when I plot the drawing they are still visisble.
This sets the visiblity of the farmes within the drawing to off however when plotting the frames are visible on the print.
Been a while since I have used wipeout, not sure if this is a system bug or there is some other variable I have forgotten that will set frames to not plot ?

when printing in view ports, wipeouts don't show. wipeouts are transparent.
ive tried copying the same wipeout lineweights and pasting it in new documents but have no problems there. i've tried re saving under a brand new document but still no luck. apparently it's only happening in the same 2 documents.
ACAD 2012 Wipeouts will work although in the PDF To DWG.pc3 settings "line merge" is activated. But with ACAD 2013 this is not the case, why?

I was wondering if there a hotkey, or is it possible to make a hotkey that toggles between the two selection options?
This would allow you to focus on modelling rather than mousing over to change between "face" and "member" selection options.
This could also be useful for many other inventor features too.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe above image is the closest description of what I mean by a "chord" setting. I need to be able to place lines with a specific length and orientation at a certian radius from two nonparallell curved lines. I've been finding it extremely difficult.
The blue lines are the property lines and the circles are the setbacks (hypothetically). To simplify the problem I offset the blue lines by the setback like so. which brigs me to the original problem. I need to place the building at the optimal point. So far, I have only been able to get close and I know/think there should be a better method to solve my problem. In the example I provided, I knew exactly where the building should be placed because the offsets were the last thing I drew. How can I get this result if my drawing is composed of fully drawn but nonaligned components?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a user who has been using certain solids for years with no problems but now having one.
These are simple flat object types "solid" objects that are simple direction arrows. If I print it from model space they are filled in. If I look at it and/or print it from paper space (in a viewport) it shows up only as an outline of the arrow.
FILLMODE is set to 1, have tried 0 also, doesn't change anything.
I have problems with saving my drawing using the save option. I click save but when i close the drawing and reopen it i realise it didnt save at all. I actually have to 'save as' to get it saved.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've read about the new option in Text Editor to be able strike through text in Multiline Text, but when I upgraded to 2013 I did not have the option.
Explains what the strike through text style is but not how to add it to my Text Editor ribbon. My understanding is that it should be a button in the Formatting Pallet under the Underline button, mine just shows Background Mask there. When I expand the formatting pallet I don't show a strikethrough option there either.
I have a drawing with multiple view ports and multiple raster images
I can shut the image frames off with "Imageframe" )(tframes) this works fine But it does not turn off the viewport frames.
I've tried putting the viewport on it's own layer and freezing the layer. This looks OK on the screen, the frames are gone. But the plot preview shows there are no images showing in any viewport.
How can I just turn off the viewport frames so when plotting I can see what's in the viewport.
I'm experiencing problems with selecting objects. Usually, when I double clicked multi line text, I could edit it, now I get a text: "select an MTEXT object:", which basically means I have to select it again.
Another example of this is quick selection tool. Usually I selected the objects, then went to quick select pop up screen and under "Apply to:" I selected "Current selection". Now, there's only "Entire drawing" option and if i want current selection, I have to re-select it again.
I checked all the selection options and stuff. I attached some screenshots.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn solidworks there's a "hidden line" option that displays a 3d part with all its sketch lines (instead of a regular solid) which allows the user to view all the different sides of the part easily. So I was wondering if there's such an option in autodesk inventor 2013. Currently, to view all the different sides and aspects of a part easily, i have been changing the part's material to polycarbone or some other plastic material; this makes the part a little translucent. But this is less effective than the hidden line vew availble in solidworks. method that makes different parts of a 3d part more easily to be viewed?

I can only save it as AutoCAD LT 2004, is there a way for me to add AutoCAD LT 2008 as an option? If not is there a compatibility pack for him that he can download. There was a slight issue in the transfer. Im not doing anything that uses the mechanical features, just normal autocad features. The option for my computer is better if it is possible.
