AutoCAD has been working on my laptop for many months. All of a sudden when I start AutoCAD and do the "open" or "new" command, the software says "not responding". If I set variable "FILEDIA" to 0 it prompts me for the file name. I have tried to repair, uninstall and reinstall the software and it does the same thing.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I open drawings created by others, I get a message " Specify font for Style OPT and "Arial Unicode MS" and a host of other fonts appear in the table. If I substitute this with Arial from the drop down list then the drawing opens. I believe Auto Cad automatically picks up either the SHX files in its own font directory or font files from MS office. My computer has Arial Unicode files in C:/Windows /Font directory and I do not know why it is not picking up the font from that file.
View 0 Replies View RelatedWhat setting would cause a huge, well about 5-second, delay when any entity is selected without a command active and only with the Properties Palette on-screen but autohidden? If command is given first, verb-noun, no hesitation after selecting at Select Objects: prompt. But, selecting any entity first, noun-verb, causes the 5-second delay before the mouse is again active. Very annoying. Closing the Properties Palette completely seems to cure the delay problem, but at a different cost in editing time. The workstation is running WinXP Pro with 4 gigs of ram.

When picking multiples files, to bring in xrefs, I can pick them, but some of the other in the office can not, it want let them pick more then one file at a time.
I'm running AutoCad 2012 in Windows 7 64bit. Notebook is an Asus N53SV, i7 2GHz with 6gb RAM and NVidia Gt540 2gb. The problem is, when i try to Extrude objects, the screen turns into black for a second and a warning says GPU is not responding. Also the notebook has another GPU of Intel within the CPU.

After installing all products within Building Design Suite Ultimate 2013 and/or Infrastructure Design Suite Ultimate 2013 I try to open AutoCAD 2013 and get the attached screen. It just grinds and try to open but always shows "not responding". I've read posts that suggest uninstalling and re-installing. I've done this several times. I've used the Microsoft Fix-It engine to completely erase from the PC. I have even just installed the AutoCAD portion and it will not open. Each time I reinstall it asks me to supply all proper credentials, product code, etc. It shows green check marks so I know my codes are correct.
I've tried opening other programs and the only successful one is Revit. Am I to point the start-up of the programs to the licenses or something.
I have a problem that the software is not responding and freezing when creating new drawing or opening another one.
I have windows 7 64 bit Operating system installed on workstation Dell Machine
I look to a lot of discussion and I tried the mentioned ways but still same issue
FYI, this software was working fine with windows XP machine.
I have just loaded the student version of AutoCAD 2012 onto my brand new HP Pavilion Notebook which has 8 GB of memory - Processor AMD A8-3530MX with HP Graphics 1.90 GHz - running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I have created a file in Adobe Illustrator which I converted to a vector image and exported it to AutoCAD. I have loaded the image and have cleaned it up. I am now trying to re-scale it and my session keeps freezing. When I look at the task manager I see that the program is not responding. I have ended the task many times now!
I have AutoCAD 2012 on a Win 7 64bit laptop. Ive had it on here for over a year and never had this issue till today. My AutoCAD loads up fine and loads up the default Drawing1 file. However after waiting a few seconds and going to click File, it comes up with Not Responding on the top. I wait patiently for several minutes and it does not recover. Not quite sure what went wrong . My desktop has the same issue. There is a possibility of it being caused by CCleaner after using it to fix errors and it messed with something in the resgistry while doing so but not sure.
View 9 Replies View RelatedHaven't figured out the trigger yet but after working in INV for a little while the "Application Menu" (used to be the File menu) does not respond to clicking on any buttons..Flyouts work but when you press the actual button nothing happens..
All other ribbon bar buttons function properly. Simply closing INV and restarting fixes the problem temporarily.
I just upgraded my iMac from Snow Leapord to Mavaricks 10.9 and Illustrator CS6 or Illustrator CC will not respond when you try and open a file. I tried Clicking on File/Open and also Cmd+O and it will not bring up the open dialog and will not respond and I have to force quit the program. If you double click on a file it opens but when you try and save it, the same thing happens, not responding and have to force quit. It also happen in Photoshop.

Now, I can't get it to open new documents, and when it says it's "processing" to open old documents.. It doesn't really make any progress, and nothing every opens.
Then it will say that corel is not responding ...
When press "open" the "open"-window dosn't open. Insted it open a comandpromt by the cursor that promt me to enter full search-way and name on the file I want to open.
What can i do to get the "open"-window?
How do I get my Sheet Set Manager to open up each time I open a CAD drawing? I turned it off and can't remember how to turn it back on. I use command SSautoopen, set to 1 but doesn't alway work. Sometimes if I close AutoCad and reopen it I can got to drop down menu and click on .dst extension and it will open but if I close out of it it won't open again unless I restart AutoCAD. I thought I used a command from the Express Tool menu but can't find it.

I recently loaded several versions of AutoCAD on to a Windows 7 machine. ALL versions will open a drawing if double-clicked from windows explorer, but if I try to open through AutoCAD, the program freezes as soon as I click on the "Open" button. This is true for AutoCAD 2010 through 2012.

When I pick the viewport outline, my properties dialog box say's "no selection" Sometimes I get a blank dialog box and have to repick the viewport to get the dialog box to give me information. However, it will not give me the information to set viewbox scale, or will not let me lock the modelspace area so that I can zoom without altering my scale setting. Is there a setting that has gotten changed or what. A week ago the command was working fine.

Everytime I select a new item to move it, the grips off of another item I would be moving would deselect. Where is the setting to set this back to where I can individually select multiple items without AutoCad deselecting the what I had selected already.

I have a drawing view of a part with a sketch that contains some lines. I need to pick one of the sketch lines.
I can pick a line with sketch active using the kSketchCurveLinearFilter
I have not been able to pick it from outside of sketch. Have tried using kDrawingCurveSegmentFilter to get a DrawingCurveSegment but I can not get the sketch line from the DrawingCurveSegment
I assume there is a way to get the sketch line from DrawingCurveSegment or DrawingCurveObject but have not figured it out.
Making the switch to Civil 3D. I was previously using 2009, and I could add dimension labels by picking two points (endpoints, intersections, etc.) to get the whole line or just a segment. In Civil 3D 2012, I create styles and add labels through the annotate tab, but I can only selct the line or curve in its entirety. There must be a way to easily label portions of a line or multiple segments as one line.

I have a sketch with ellipse and then squares inside the ellipse. I am trying to edit the part not create. The program extrudes either ellipse or squares. New problem: the extrusion is picking wrong sketch. I need to finish the part....
How do I pick a part to balloon it when the line is actually two parts beside each other? eg a wall sheet welded to a square column. I can 'toggle" between the two but am unable to pick the other part so continually get the item balloon for the part I don't want.

When I click on a civil 3d object the contextual ribbon will light up (which is fine) but instead of my cross hairs comming back in the drawing window I get the pointer that would be used to select an item in the ribbon (in the drawing area) and I have to click in the drawing area to get my cross hairs back or to grip edit the object or to delete the object.
Is there a option/setting I need to change to be able to get me cross hairs back after selecting a civil 3d object?
Just move to Civil 3d 2012, this worked just fine in '11...
My eyedropper started picking the wrong color! I ahve reset and reinstalled PS - and still have this problem. No matter what color I click the eyedropper on, it picks a shade darker than what I want. Like I said, I am running PS CS6 on OS Mountain Lion.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm working with the Color Picker and I select a green color on the left side square and I now want to pick other colors with the same level of lightness/darkeness and saturation for other shapes. Do I just leave the circle in the same position on the left side square and move the slider on the right side to a blue or red to get colors that work well together?
If so, by doing this, how are these colors described? Hues with the same lightness and saturation levels?
This has happened during a few different projects I've had:
Short Version: I'm just trying to make sure that the colored box prints the exact same color as the PDF's color and it's not.
Long Version: Say I'm given a PDF, it's a poster, and it needs to have bleed (a border around it) added. I'll open Illustrator, put the PDF in there, and use a colored box for the additional bleed/border I'm adding. I'll use the eye dropper, click on part of the PDF - it'll give me the color of that spot. I'll take that color and apply it to the colored box, it changes color.
The issue is that sometimes, that color the eye dropper picks up doesn't actually match the PDF's true color. I can fill in the colored box with whatever color the eye dropper picks up, but it's often a weird color, like with CMYK number values being at 98.35% or something And even when the color value on the PDF and box are the same, you can see a slight difference between that colored box and the real PDF.
I'll even export that to a PDF and make sure it's correct, using the Object Data Tool or whatever it is, and then using the eye dropper there, and seeing that the color for my box and the PDF are at the same CMYK color values. And you can still see it's incorrect very slightly, and then when you print it it's obviously not the same. Even when I try picking it up in HSB or RGB, it's no good.
Having changed the watched files folder, when I add a file, Elements picks it up immediately. However, I previously loaded a lot of files on e without realising Elements was only watching c. What is the best way to pick up those new files? (I don't think I can delete tham and start again.)
Just get the media from the file, it imports it all then says it didn't import the old stuff as it was already in the catalogue. really should think about this more before I do anything.
