I want to run a batch file that will launch AutoCAD, run a program that will create some graphics, save and then exit AutoCAD. I'm sure this can be done, but I want to do it in Silent mode. The server it will run on has no monitor.
Situation: Rendering a sequence of frames with different image dimensions (photos of 3D scene for printing, different image dimensions needed for different purposes). Changing image width/height in pre-render frame MEL script. Therefore, need to know what frame we are on.
Unfortunately, mental ray batch render returns frame number (currentTime) of PREVIOUS frame when called during pre-render frame script. I have to add 1 to get the frame that is about to render, to determine needed image dimensions.
This is different than rendering current frame within Maya to preview what will happen -- currentTime is already on the correct frame.
So, in my frame mel script, I need to know whether in batch mode or not, to know whether to add 1 to time.
How do so?
I searched docs and googled. All I found is a mention "Implementors of render traversals may wish to check whether they are running in batch mode", that did not say how to do so. And a mention in 2006 of "about -batch" that supposedly gives documentation that mentions how to do so. But the about command must be obsolete.
I am trying to work out a plan in Autocad and it goes so slowly. The slowest of all actions I do is always drawing a simple line. No other program is running on my laptop.
We are running multiple instances of Inventor on a workstation server with a bog standard graphics card.
These Inventor instances are loaded without the UI, in silent mode and with save reminders etc. all disabled.
We're always trying to get the best performance out of the servers and to date we've been given the impression that Inventor won't utilize the graphics card under silent / none visible mode.
If Inventor does still use the graphics card for some reason then we can stick a bigger card in and hopefully get some improved performance.
Having a problem with default program running 32 bit Photoshop CC. I have tried changing the default program to run 64 bit Photoshop CC and not 32 but it continues to run the 32bit version.I am running windows 8.1 and Photoshop CC. how to get 64bit to stick?
So, I opened a big .psd document and I worked on it for a while. I restarted my pc, and the Photoshop CS6 crashed, then after restarting the PC Adobe Photoshop CS6 was trying to open the autosave from last time, and then it showed me this error: Could not apply the saved panel configuration, resetting to default.
And after that, this error: Could not apply the saved panel configuration, resetting to default. Then, Photoshop CS6 crashed.
I have just installed PSP X5 and have found a couple of problems.
First one is when I close PSP the process still runs for a good 10 minutes afterwards and consumes a lot of system memory. I found this by accident after I closed PSP X5 and then decided to start it again. It wouldn't open until I closed the previous process.
Second, when I start PSP after the splash screen and the program interface appear I have to wait about 1 minute 40 seconds before I can do anything with the program.
how to improve this situation because at the moment I don't consider this acceptable?
I'm running Windows 7 32 bit with 4Gb of RAM, other than browser and email no other big program is running inthe background
I have several AutoLISP routines that shell out to the DOS environment, collect file data, and write script files to perform tasks in batches withing a folder.
When the run, AutoCAD trashes my menu. It moves tool bars off the page--even though they're all locked--, displays the tool pallette, which I keep turned off, and generally behaves unprofessionally altogether.
How do I get this version to behave like and old reliable previous version?
We have been running Windows XP-Pro (32 Bit) withAutocad Mechanical 2011 using a Calcomp Drawing Board-III and the TWSER2kXp.exe driver, everything is running fine. We want to switch over to Window-7 running 64 Bit and I want to know if our older driver will work as before and if not what driver do I need to use to define the tablet areas of the menu and be able to use our 16 button pucks.
i am using photoshop cs6 exteneded since days, and i wrote a text in 3D mode. so after finishing it, i tried to render it. after finishing rendering, i try to save my work, then i get something like "could not save because there is not enough memoryRAM" and after some tries to save it, i get " could not complete your request because of a program error" it always happens. i use windows 7 with intel core i3, 2.13 GHz, and RAM 4 GB
Auutocad 3d patially opens then closes down. This has only just started to happen and the the same applies to my stand alone program of AEROTURN for Autocad 3d
One of our users has managed to get the workspace kind of messed up. They have some toolbars, but only a fraction of the total, and the ribbon menus are just blanks. The odd thing is that if someone else logs on to that machine and starts AutoCAD everything is fine. We've uninstalled AutoCAD and re-installed it and it has no effect at all. The user's workspace is still all screwed up. Is there some SIMPLE way to get the program to reset to all the factory defaults or something?
I would like to wblock certain layers(0 and Marking) to a specific location as a DXF. In the routine I would like to have a prompt that asks me what the file name (not the path, including .dxf) is. The location I would like to write to is FXF/"filename".dxf.
I am looking for a AutoCAD management program, that has the ability to use a data base of master .dwg files and turn on or off certain layers and save as a new .dwg file.
I'm trying to use VideoStudio X2 to burn to DVD a file that I’ve downloaded to my laptop from my hard disk set top box . When I play the file in VideoStudio it's silent (whether or not I’ve added it to the timeline). However when I view the file (a .ts ) in Windows Media Player it has sound.
If I view other .ts video files in VideoStudio they do have sound, which suggests the sound for my laptop and VideoStudio aren't completely muted.I've attached a screen shot that shows the audio file properties as well as other settings.
Software: Pro X2 (VideoStudio v12.0.96.1) Toshiba Satellite L500-1WG Windows 7, Home Premium, 64 bit Pentium Dual Core CPU, T4400, 2.2GHz, 4 GB RAM Video type: PAL
When i use panning in 2D mode the drawing disappears from my viewport. Autocad and all tools are still visible but there is nothing in drawing screen. When i zoom extent(z+e) it comes back again but in a couple minutes it disappears again while i am panning.
If I try to do an unattended installation, by using the /auto, on a freshly installed windows, it will still pop up a message: "The following will be installed: .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, Paint.NET" After the installation it will pop up another message box that asks if I want to restart windows. How can I make the installation completely silent?
I'm trying to figure out a way to reduce the size of a cylinder that is created in another program (LFM or Cyclone) and imported into Autocad. I've tried Solidedit and I can increase the cylinder diameter but I can't reduce the cylinder diameter.
I can undock the draw-panel to get it in "floating" mode, but I would like it to display all the icons in one single column (so all the icons from top to bottom). I googled around, and found that it should be possible to resize the floating panel (mousepointer should change when you move it to any side). However, my floating panel doesn't allow me to do that. It always displays the icons in a 4x3 or 3x3 matrix. (depending on the orientation).
In paper space, some of my drawings lose color palette showing only black and white, some others not. How can I change the settings make all drawings looking unanimous in colors?
Is it possible with the hatch command to be able to select objects first instead of picking an internal point?I looked at this thread first which covers the same problem but not sure if there ever was a solution. URL....
HPDLGMODE is currently set to 2, I tried setting it back to 1 but that brings up the hatch popup window as it does in Classic mode and 0 does the same thing as 2.
I got a problem in my .dwg drawing. When I go to Block Editor of my drawing , I get some unexpected text like below screeshot (red marked) which disturb my afterwards activities. How can I make them off?
