AutoCAD 2010 :: Printing With Multiple View Ports
Dec 4, 2012I've been playing around with the print options for a while here, and can't seem to figure this out. I want to print multiple view ports on one page.

View 7 RepliesI have been creating directly the DWG of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 for a couple of months.I created a project for the 8 points (4 locations with 2 depths in each location - i. e. same XY-coordinates, but different Z) And I just cannot separate the 2 "depth" points of the "same XY-coordinates" location in the 3D Wireframe by using the 3D Rotation Cube. I wonder I should start the C3D 2013 with choosing the right Template, configuring proper Viewports and creating suitable View Frames. I don't know what Template is right for my project of the 2 "depth" points of the same location in the 3D Wireframe of C3D 2013 - see the attached file. what Template (.dwt) is right for my project, how to cofigure 2 or 3 Viewports, and create the View Frames.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have AutoCAD map 3D 2011.My layout background is white, and sometimes the viewport(s) appear blacked out. I can plot fine, no problems there. It makes it hard to see what I have in my view port. I have removed the viewport and created a new one that will fix the problem approx. 50% of the time. What causes this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor over ten years I have been placing view ports on the defpoints layer and have never had a problem.
Apparently one of my co-workers say that the drawing crashes when this is done. When I ask the reason, they could not explain it.
The only thing I can think of is what happened to me once and that is I had a corrupted block and some of the objects were on the def points layer. If the drawing crashes because the view port is on the def points layer.
I have two files...
File 1: with a Profile View => Units set to Meters and Scale set to 1:100
File 2: Units set to Milimeters, Model Space Scale set to 1:100 (same as File 1), Viewport Scale set to 1:100 , Plot style scale set to 1:1
Now I want to X-Ref the "File 1" into "File 2" but when I do that, Civ3D scales all the Profile Labels to huge size. I understand, it has to do with different units (meters and millimeters) set in both file... but thats the way I want this to be...
Please note, in File 2: Model Space scale 1:100 is different than Viewport Scale 1:100, because Model Space scale 1:100 is coming from "File 1" which is set to Meters.
I even tried to keep both Model Space Scale and Viewport Scale same in "File 2" but that didn' work either.
When I save layer states overrides for a certain view port and mane it e.g. "K", in layer state manager current layer state is shown as "K", but when I change layout and come back to this one, in layer state manager current layer state is shown as *UNSAVED* again!!!
This results in a great problem. If I update layer state "K" it does not update all view ports that should have layer state "K" automatically so I have to go trough all of them again and apply "K" again and again after any change to "K" is made.
Link to other thread: Apply Layer State Overrides to view ports using filter which, if answered could bypass the problem.
First off, here is what i want to do:
- in model space
- 3 model space view ports (ai_tiledvp 3 "_V")
- different layer state visible in each view port OR different saved view visible in each view port.
I cannot for the life of me figure it out. At the moment, every time i change the layer state (or saved view) in one view port, it changes in all 3 view ports so that they all show the exact same thing.
i am looking for a command to switch view ports with out the mouse for making a script.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have several paperspace tabs on my drawing. When I create a new layer on the drawing, I have to go to every tab and viewport to turn on or off the new layer. Is there a way to create a layer that is turned off in all the drawing viewports and tabs. Then, I only have to go to the paperspace tab and viewport I want the layer to be seen and turn it on.

I'm trying to print / plot a drawing which has a mixture of 2D plans and 2 3D views. I have the drawing set-up with viewports in paperspace. The objects in one of the 3D views prints perfectly, yet some of the linework from the second 3D view won't print.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this problem with my drawing. before I decided to post here, I first ask mr. google about the problem but to no avail. anyway, here's my problem:
I have this drawing. 3d object. with multiple items. and would like to create a 2d detailed view of the items.
what i did was isolate the first item and did the base view command. after the command, I then hid the first item and isolate again the second item. but then I always get this pop-up menu that says "A model has changed" and my item is missing. I ignored the warning and poceeded with my second model and so, on. after the process I unisolated all my items and most of the drawings are there and some are lost. Is there a proper way of doing this base view for multiple objects without disrupting the previous drawing that I objects?
I am trying to batch plot to PDF's from a drawing file that has multiple tabs in it. I would like each tab to be a separate PDF file. We are utilizing Acrobat X to write the PDF's. AutoCAD places all of the tabs into one file whether I tell a Multi-sheet file or a Single-sheet file.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have a proxy server on the network which only allows certain websites to be accessed. Recently I have found with CAD 2013 that a lot of the content inside the application actually depends on the user having internet access. Is there a list of addresses you can send me which I can unblock on our firewall?
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy production team uses the Inventor View to view drawings once they are released from engineering. Sometimes they get printed so they can send a copy to our vendors. When ever they print from Inventor View 2014 the lines that are on the Visible Layer do not print. Also the lines in the titeblock are not very dark even though the "print all colors black" has been checked. It does not matter which printer or computer is used.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am working on a pipe with a ports on one side. I created a True/False parameter to determine whether the ports are on one side or two and created a rule that does that, but now I am stuck with the CC:
Is there a way to publish a part to the content center with a true/false parameter? I made a rule to designate what true and false means but when I publish it to the content center I want to be able to choose whether it's true or false and it doesn't seem to be working. I also tried to publish without the T/F parameter and then after placing it just change the T/F parameter but I cannot change any parameter of a part that I placed from the content center.reciated.
From my project manager > views, I select a view, it opens in model. I change to paper space and have my plan and an isometric view (in wire frame). I go to view and select shaded with edges. Perfect, colors on both plan and isometric are where I want them, now I want to print this.
I select my print icon and change my paper size select my printer. I select extents, center the plot and fit to paper. I preview.. And my color disappears. What.. Am I doing wrong. Should I be making my paper representations from a different start?
Yesterday.. I was trying to do the same thing.. But starting with the drawing in constructs. I end up with the same, my isometric drawing looses most of its color, the windows have color as does one layer (a line showing the outline of the floor under). The plan drawing has most of the colors but some of the layers are black where in the model they have color. To further complicate the problem.. The same procedure making a first floor drawing has the plan in complete color.
We run a Canon ipf655... and as far as I can tell, it won't collate by itself - it gets its information from whatever application one's running. In this case, we are running Autocad 2013. I am trying to figure out a way to print an entire job (say, 30 sheets) without having to open up each and every page and print singly. That's what we do now, and apparently have done for the last 15 years; so if my boss requests a copy of the yadda yadda set from 6 mos ago, we have to go back, open up the cover page, open up every other page, and print them in order.
Is there some way to either save all these individual pages as a "job" or something and then print that "job", or otherwise to instruct the program to print 30 pages in whatever order? Each page is definitely set up differently, with different scales and window sizes and such, but it seems like once each page is set up to print properly, one should be able to print a slew of pages without such painstaking time spent.
I've got a drawing that is 14"x12" and have a printer that can only handle 8.5 x 11 sheets. I need to print it out full scale because I plan on using the drawing to cut something out. In school, I have seen my teacher print the drawing across multiple sheets, and then he simply tapes the sheets together. I have tried every configuration possible and have had no success.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs is possible to "que" a bunch of drawings to be plotted? I would like to be able to open a drawing and plot it, then while it's plotting, open another drawing and plot it, then another and so on and so on. However, I get an error message stating that another plot is in process and only one plot or publish process can be active at one time. Thus, I'm forced to wait for the last one to complete before sending the next one to the plotter.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe are having a print server in which HP DJ Z6200 printer is attached and shared. Nearly 200 users (with Win 7 64bit) are using this plotter. There are few other HP plotters also attached on this print server.
While trying to print any drawing from this HP DJ Z6200 printer, AutoCAD is showing below mentioned error -
None:This plotter configuration cannot be used for one of these reasons: the driver cannot be found, the evice can not be found or the device has a problem. The none plot device has been substituted.
After several googling & digging into the AutoCAD forums I have found that we need to create .PC3 file for this plotter. But while trying to do so, getting the same error message as mentioned. But from the same system, with any other application (MS Word, Excel, Acrobat), we are able to print on the same plotter. After several tryout, we have managed to create a .PC3 file from an Windows XP system. By copying that .PC3 file to affected system, printing is working fine. But its a work around for us as its very difficult to copy-paste .PC3 file for all the users (around 200 or more from different locations).
I am using 2D-AutoCAD, and trying to plot a drawing on a printer, the drawing is different colors and I want to print it black on white paper, I am unable to select the proper .ctb file from the Plot Style Table pulldown, it does not show up? I have plotted other drawing sets using this method but for some reason cant do it on this particular set.

Also, the xref prints on other sheets, except this one so i'm thinking there is a difference in the page setup but I dont see any discrepancies.

I have a question about printing an autocad drawing. Currently I have two drawings on the model tab. I have drawn them both 1:1.
Now I need to print them both out on a same A3 paper, with different scales. The other one will be printed in 1:100 and the other in 1:50.
I have drawn a pretty good amount on autocad but this is my first time printing/plotting.
Actually on one of my draughtsman's computer, when he hits Ctrl + P, he is unable to see DWG to PDF option in the drop down menu, have I fortgot to install some feature because for rest of my draughtsman they all are getting that option.
