Jul 14, 2011Add keyboard shortcuts (or at least the option to define them) for all the layer commands. When I say, "all the layer commands", I mean a keyboard shortcut to do anything you can do with the mouse in the Layers window.
Specifically:
Move Layer Up / Down,
Toggle Layer Visibility,
Select Next / Previous Layer (or some set of commands to navigate layers.)
Select Next / Previous Visible Layer could be nice too.
This thread from 2006 asked for similar features, but no thread necromancy.
Implement these shortcuts. Having to grab the mouse to do simple layer operations feels awkward and breaks my flow.

Aug 9, 2012new to 3D modelling in Autocad. the client has asked me to detail this in about 20 places on a structure.Its an SHS edge beam joining a CHS rafter.Both are at different angles.The CHS has a cleat plate, as does the edge beam.The 2 need to align and connect. The bolt hole must be 40mm off the face of the rafter.The rafter CL & edge beam CL need to coincide at a setting out point.
Where the rafter cleat plate connects to its rafter it has to be in alignment with the rafters plane.SHS edge beam will need to have its sides vertical and horizontal, so the edge beam cleat won’t be aligned with the SHS faces .
Even though I have the autocad file as an example, have tried to draw this about 100 times but cant get it right – I have been unable to contact the draftsman who did it. How to draw it and what commands to use?how to use UCS and other modelling operations.
Lightroom :: Crashing During Move File And Other Processor-intensive Operations?
Mar 25, 2013I've been using various versions of Lightroom on my Mac for many years without issue. I love the program. Recently though, when using the last iteration of Lightroom 3 I began to experience problems when performaning processor-intensive work. For example, my library has nearly 200K images, and these are organized into hundreds of folders (bird species), each folder containing from 1 to up to 14K images. My workflow is to bring in the photos, rename them, and then shift them over into these species folders. For me it's an easier and faster way to get my hands on specific images than using tags. In any case, when I try to move images between folders lately, Lightroom slows down and eventually crashes. It also crashes the other apps running on my Mac at the time (usually just a web browser). I get the gray screen of death and have to reboot the Mac. Start over and after a few minutes of work it happens again.
Today I upgraded to Lightroom 4.3 hoping that might solve the problem, but I experienced the same crash behavior tonight while shifting some photos around. The Mac is a Macbook pro, recent model with latest OS and with 16GB RAM. I don't experience problems like this with any other application, but Lightroom is now bringing my computer to its knees! I even took the Mac into the Apple store and had the full diagnostics run and they found no problems internally. I keep my photos on external drives connected by firewire. Another potential wrinkle: Lightroom doesn't seem to be able to find a few of my previously imported images even though the directory is looking for them in the right folder. I get a "File offline or missing" issue. I tried pointing the folder to a new location (the same one) but that didn't work. Oddly, it does seem to find others.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Unable To Perform Boolean Operations
Sep 5, 2012I have been working with autocad for approximately five months. I feel as though I have a pretty good grasp of the program's capabilities and commands, but I'm stumped. I've successfully imported a 3dm file to autocad 2012 and all of the geometry is present in autocad (it is not a 2d wireframe), but I am unable to perform boolean operations on it.
The model has also taken on a strange pale blue hugh, though the wirefram is lavender (unless I explode it and then unionize it several times over. Unfortunately this results in an issue with surface faces intersecting with one another, as well as a loss of geometry). The model cannot be converted to a surface nor a solid which means that it is not water-tight. This is not a model that I have created. I've been tasked by my employer to make several changes to it. Why (without exploding it) I cannot perform boolean operations.

Apr 29, 2012am experiencing display problems with Civil 3d 2012 on my Hp Elitebook laptop, when i open surface properties and go to styles dropdown menu i get empty dialog but if i move mouse cursor out of the dialog they appeared the same issue appears on other dialogs. I installed c3d 2013 trial still i get same problem. I installed autodesk certified driver same problem.

Dec 19, 2012I am using Illustrator on a Wacom 24HD on a PC, which works quite well, except that as a right handed person, the tooltips, which appear to the right of the mouse cursor, are covered by my hand. Windows (and the Wacom settings) both have a left hand / right hand setting which control where a popup menu appears, however, I do not see anywhere where I can control where the tooltips appear, presumably because this is an Illustrator feature, not a Windows feature. Its particular important for this application because tooltips are used for information (such as size when dragging out new shapes), not just for beginners needing a reminder what a button means. To put the tooltips to the left of the cursor instead of the right?

I've done this before and still do it all the time on Photoshop on my other machines. However, on my laptop it won't work.
