AutoCAD 2010 :: Field Conversion Factor Not Working

I am trying to use the FIELD function to automatically display the Y value for floor levels. I have chosen 'object', then selected a line (floor level line lifted to the correct height in the Y axis) then selected 'start' as the property to display, Format: Current units. The problem is the current units are mm but I want the floor levels displayed in Metres but when I try to change this by using the 'Additional Format' button the 'Conversion factor' box is greyed out so I cant convert the value and it wont let me manually edit the Field expression or else I would manually add [1e-007]

I would like to change the conversion factor of meters to feet to a more accurate value rather that 0.3048. In my place we use the meter to feet conversion with 3.2808333. It makes a lot difference when the decimals does not carry up to 7 decimal place.

im using field to calculate area but my problem is that i have to write everytime in additional format the conversion factor,prefix and suffix...
for example
current value is 39690.0
conversion factor 0.0001
preview 3.9690
how can i save and use allways the same conversion factor and prefix (Area.),suffix(m²)

When using mtext and a background mask and try to modify the border offset factor from the default of 1.5 , the factor reverts back to 1.0. If I type in 1.25 or 1.75, it will not save it and revert to 1.0. If I put in a larger number like 2.0 or 3.0, that factor will be retained.

I have a client who is working on the edge of a MGA coordinate zone - as they are near the edge of the zone their scale factor is large and needs to be factored in to all setouts (it makes 50mm of difference over 100 metres.)
their previous solution has been to work day to day at 1 to 1 scale and then xreference this back into a MGA projection by using a scale factor around a single point false origin.
As they are moving away from this false origin - the scale factor is changing slightly.
Is it possible to create a user grid at 1 to 1 for the day to day use and then query this into a MGA drawing. via ADEQUERY to bring it back to MGA ?

I need to convert a large number of drawings from Imperial to Metric (I have copied that drawings and intend to save as a metric set, so I'll be overwriting (and possible appending "-METRIC" to the file name.) So I wrote a batch file to collect the drawings then apply a conversion (autocad) script.
I also created a script to close the drawings that would run after a batch (i.e. subdirectory (say 20 drwgs)).
If I open the drawings manually and run the scripts, they work fine, however I have been unable to automate the procedure.
Batch to collect files:
SET ACAD2013PATH="C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2013"

We have been using Autocad 2000 32 bitfor many years and just recently upgraded the laptop with windows 7 64 bit and upgraded to Autocad 2010 64 bit. We cannot view the autocad 2000 drawings in the new autocad, it keeps freezing. I understand its a compatibility issue. How can we convert the drawings? I did download TrueView but it only gives me the latest option to convert to as 2007.

I am currently using AUTOCAD 2012 free version for educational purposes. I have a drawing that requires high precision. It has a length of 1 cm and it goes as low as 0.115 millimeters. I would like to convert this drawing to direct .pdf. However, when I do, the dimensions get incredibly distorted and the lines get thicker. I have no problems in drawing the whole thing, but exporting to .pdf and even to .DWF is problematic.

I have done some heavy editing on my RAW file with numerous Adjustments Brushes and Spot Removals. Now that I'm done I want to try making a Black And White version using the standard B&W conversion in LR 5.3. Here comes the strange part....the area that I have done all the editing in remains in color while the rest of the shot gets converted to B&W. In other words, LR 5.3 fails to convert to B&W on heavily edited areas!? As you can see in the image the top left area is blue wihle the rest of the image has been converted.

I am trying to leave a SSM field empty on some sheets (Custom Property set to Sheet).
I am using SIMPLEX font in ACAD 2012 on Win 7 64bit.
I have tried using %%U as both default value and sheet value and I get a dot plotted.
If I use U+00A0 or Alt+0160 as default or sheet value I get the actual code showing or the 4 dashes instead of a space.
I have also tried 2 spaces to no avail.
Looks like the only solution is to delete the link to the field and insert it when I use it. Annoying :-(

It it possible to link a field to a layer name? this would make the job that I am doing alot easier. For some reaso the company that I currently work for wants to put the layer discription next to the revcloud instead of just using a delta.

I'm using ACA2012 x64 but I suppose this question is applicable to all flavors of AutoCAD. Is there a routine that will insert today's date in a drawing and update that entry when the drawing is opened? Fieldeval won't update date fields.

We created a field that is grabbing an object, the property of the object is the standard scale. Fields will not show the scale, it instead shows the word custom. This appears to be a AutoDesk bug. Please see the attachment.

Is there a way to force text pulled from a drawing property to wrap to fit a cell of Mtext? In otherwords,... a multi line field? Some of our drawing titles are several lines, and instead of wrapping inside the field box in our titleblock, the text just spreads out all over. I'd rather not go back to the old method of having a custom property for Line 1, Line 2 etc....

What I would like to do is an arithmetic operation of addition, something similar to how 'CAL works. In this particular case I would like to add the value of 100,000 before the conversion factor, or 100 after the conversion factor.

SaveDate only updates when I save the file but CreateDate updates every time I regen? How is that a CreateDate?
Is there a setting that would create a date field that updates only once during the life of the drawing? I would like to create a true CreateDate field where once I save the file the first or second time it stays the same date from there forward.
I have looked at the FIELDEVAL settings. I have a plotted date on my drawings so maybe a general date field is not necessary?

Round off of the value (length) of an inserted field, I wanted to make a round off for the field value that represents the length of a line but sounds that there is no option to do so.
For example:
the 2568 will be rounded off to be 2570
the 2563 will be rounded off to be 2565
This option is available for the dimension objects and wondering why it not offered for the inserted fields.

I would like to link a series of text lines in an autocad drawing to there corresponding fields in an excel sheet, I can not use tables in autocad because of the way other software uses the text in autocad. I have attached files of the text layout in acad and of the sheet in excel. One thing that keeps me from using tables in acad is that every line of text is on a different layer, with tables you can't control the layer of table its always on the current layer.
