I don't know what I did, I tried to check the history of my operations but I didn't find the problem. The /, ', " change place on my keyboard and I can't find them. Then it can't recognize the measure that I give!!!! It is only in autocad because I can write it in other programs.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just started getting strange characters on labels that I print from a data table. The process I use is to use mtext with fields to get infromation from the client abbreviation, job name and part numbers onto labels used to keep track of parts and for assembly.
I have used this for some time with no problems but today..... Attached is the template I use and a nested drawing using the same template but with actual data. The one with data works with no problems. I'm pretty sure no variables have changed between them.
For the last few weeks my copy of C3d 2012 has had what appear to be chinese characters pm all tooltips.This started after a network change here which resulted in everyone gaining a new user account on their PC.
I copied over all my old settings.I have tried adding font packs from the installation disk.I tried repairing from the installation disk.
Makes no difference; it's still Chinese (or what appears to be Chinese anyway). how to get this program back into English or is a reinstallation the only answer?
After reading a thread that seems related I also tried changing the windows advanced appearance options for tooltip fonts.Didn't have any effect.

I use the esc (escape) key to end a string of comands or if I want to go another direction. In AutoCAD 2012 when I hit the esc key on my keyboard it does NOTHING?

But when I open the PDF in Illustrator with Simplified Chinese open, some of the characters change. My client in the past has had success outlining the chinese before she sends. But it is no longer working for some reason. How can I match what I see on the PDF without having to convert it to a rastered image.?

View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to duplicate in place? I have a instance where I am using a lot of subtractions and I want to have multiple copies of objects in the exact same position. I am finding that when I do copy I often snap to the object but the direction for depth relative to the view I am in ends up being different. Example being I have a 2" Diameter circle extrude that I want to be 120" long. I created that. I want a copy of it in the same position. I am looking from the front so all I see is the circle. I select copy and grab the center point and snap to the centerpoint. Now I have its zero at the other's 120" mark. I am hoping I could just run a duplicate command, but I cannot seem to find that.

There is one problem however, I cannot delete by using 'backspace' on my mac keyboard. I always have to right click the selected object and go to erase. Does there exist a keyboard shortcut for erase?

We are having slow keyboard response while typing in CAD 2010. (It happened a little while using 09 as well). We will start typing a command and our cursor will get ahead of what we're trying to type. Our dynamic input is OFF.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with Adobe Illustrator CC 17.1.0 with colors, types and groups.
If I select a text or a group and try to change its color, the Fill color stays correct a the panel, but the text or the group maintains the old color, like the screenshot below.
The only way to change color its is selecting all text characters or all group's elements.
When saving an AutoCAD drawing there is a Thumbnail image saved (if you have the option turn on), but when the command "Edit Xref In-Place" is used there is no Thumbnail image saved. So now when I try to preview any drawing that has been edited through this command there is no longer a thumbnail.
I am using AutoCAD 2012 and the option to save a thumbnail is turned ON.
This happens on more than one document. A ueser showed me when she references in place, you just see the cursor spinning in a circle. Internet is NOT open, just Outlook.

This has caused the particular dwg files to expand from 300k to 4mb.

Is there a way to automatically place dimensions on a specific layer, for example layer DIM.
This is in regards to the LIP command in Toolpac. The layer properties for a selected nested object (LIP) used to default to nested. Now you have to select nested from the list of options. Why they would change LIP. My whole company had gotten so used to it.

3dsmax.exe gets a "ACCESS DENIED" from the OS but this error would be silently ignored IMHO the error should be raised, so that the user knows about unsaved settings...
