After Effects :: Sequence Of Images - How To Speed Things Up

I have a folder of images that need to be shown show one after another, like a slideshow.
Towards the end, the images will be shown shorter and shorter, so the sequence goeds fatser and faster.
Is there a quick and simple way of doing this in AE? Or Premiere for that matter?

I'd like to convert footage from 23.98 to 29.97 by speeding it up (instead of adding pulldown). I was told in the past that this is possible with After Effects. Any tutorial or documentation on how I can do this? I have CS6.

I've been playing around with Gimp and making some wallpapers and stuff recently. I'd really like to know how to do something like this: [URL]
It's really hard to explain what exactly I want to know, but I'd like to make something similar with a collage of smaller pictures that all sort of merge into each other like they do in the example. Questions:
- How do I get the backgrounds (of the whole thing, and each separate image) to just fade out/into each other so seamlessly?
- Is there a way to make a layer transparent in some parts but not in others?

I'm currently using AE and PP CS6 with Dynamic Link and rendering out in Media Encoder is very slow. I am not using my computers full power, only about 25% CPU and half of ram. What other components could speed this up? SSD? Rendering on GPU?

i recently purchased a 500GB Gtech firewire external harddrive for my laptop. My after effects is extremely slow and i want to use these external harddrive in order to increase the speed. I have a macbook pro with the following specs:
Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
Software OS X 10.8.5 (12F45)

It seems every year our assemblies get bigger and bigger. Most projects I work on have 5,000-15,000 occurances and load times can start to cut into productivity when I'm opening 30 different projects a day.
I am currently running 16GB of PC3-8500F (533 MHz) DDR3 Patriot 1600EL RAM. I am running windows 7 with an i7 2700k OC'ed to 4.0 Ghz. Load times are sometimes around a minute with the normal being just under 30 seconds. On top of simply opening assemblies, I've also noticed complex FEA simulations almost filling up my 16GB of RAM. I don't where the bottle neck is in today's computers, so any testing to see if faster RAM would speed things up.

all the twirly triangle dropdown menu things (what's the official term?) underneath the contents menu of layers. Especially now that I'm working with Convert to Shape Layer functionality I'm wondering what an efficient/shortcut based way to work with these inner menus is. For instance when converting Text to Shape layers - it seems like I'm spending most of my time dealing with twirly triangle management
I don't even know how to search for them: obviously searching for anything "collapse" takes one to a bunch of collapse transformations stuff.

I'm working on a project that requires creating an animation in After Effects that is then imported into Sprite kit using a numbered png sequence. I'm aware that using hashes [#####] allows you to add the amount of zeroes you want in the filename for numbering the frames, but is there any way to export without any zeroes?
(eg. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 rather than 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10)

I am using After effects cs6 and when i try to choose a format there is no option to save as an image sequence. This goes for any clip I try to render. The picture below is where I am having the problem, under the format tab. There are only about 10 options under the tab and image sequence is not one of them.

We all know AE can render a layered PSD image, but is there a way to output a layered PSD image sequence? Maybe a script? How about multi-layer EXRs?

Right there in the topic, I can't figure it out. You can only choose millions of colors and trillions of colors when looking at the depth in the output module. And even if you pick 8-bits per channel in the render settings it still renders the files to 32-bit.
It's basically a (pure) white spinning star fading out gradually so there is no need to render it with that many colors.

I'm working with a JPEG image sequence, and have deleted frames frames at various points before bringing them into AE. Instead of skipping the missing frames, AE renders missing media frames in place of the ones I deleted, instead of just skipping them. Is there a way around this without having to manually rename all of the images so there are no missing numbers?

When I import images as a sequence in AE CC (v.12.2.1.5), I select an image, then check the 'JPEG Sequence'. Sometimes I have folders that contain missing files, in that I case I also check 'Force Alphabetical Order'.
However, it seems that this is not working correctly now. Some part of the sequence is correct, but there are also some images that appear at random places in the sequence. Is this a bug? What should I do to avoid this?

The problem: I am importing a PNG sequence into After Effects (CS 5.5), however AE refuses to see the Alpha channel contained within the sequence. Now before anyone jumps the gun and says, "But wait, PNG does not really support alpha, it just supports transparency!" Right, something I just learned, and still -- quite honestly -- baffles the heck out of me.
But anyway, another PNG sequence exported from the exact same program, imports into After Effects just fine with an "alpha channel" and all. I double-checked, and there is NOT an option in the program to export the PNG without transparency info.
Importing sample images from each sequence reveals the EXACT SAME THING ... both have transparency, but NEITHER have an alpha-channel per se.
1) why in the heck AE would interpret one's transparency, and not the other?2) Is there a way to FORCE AE to see the transparency of the one?3) IF not, is there something out there that will convert the PNG's with transparency to another format (TIF, TGA, PSD) with an alpha? I just don't want to have to re-render the sequences again.

I figured out how to do the lightning and how to export transparent PNGs, but I can't get rid of the lightning solid background (which is balck in my case).

I have a animation and want to export the animation to sequence images. The sequence images is in the custom selected area.
I just know to use the Rendered Frame Window to render an image with selected area and save to a png file. But I cannot do that for every key frame.

Though I am a long time CorelDraw user I've recently download VideoStudio Pro trial. The problem I am having is importing a sequence of animation images (360 total at 30frames/sec) The images where render and exported from Lightwave3D (jpg)
The only way I found to import the images was through the capture button and that worked fine. Once that was done imported VS editor and exported to several formats...
the problem is the sequence is choppy and not smooth it is a wee bit choppy the 30 frames/sec imports fine but the final play back is not smooth as it should be. If I export directly to video from Lightwave the playback is smooth. I'd render direct from LW but LW is is a wee bit wonky at time when writing direct to video format. LW prefers direct to image then you would composite in a 3rd party program
I tried VS video at 60 frames, 15 frames that made no difference at all the same unsmooth playback
How do I import a sequence of images at 30/sec so then export so that the playback is smooth.

I wish to import a mixture of Images and videos taken in date sequence by my camera. img and avi.
They import into the library but sort automatically by name or by type (effectivly the same) But when I select sort by date (to get them into the sequence in which they were taken) nothing happens.How to do this? Or does the function not work?
The video I will produce needs to be in date/time order. Is it just that the "time" is not used in the sort and everything taken in one day will not be sorted in chronological order?

I am looking for a way to import a sequence of images that represent an object spinning. I'd like to be able to import these onto the timeline and have it play thru the images by turning them on/off at the correct time. I basically want to do the same way that you can do in Flash when importing an image sequence.

After selecting 2 (or more) files and right clicking and choosing Multi camera sequence from source, I drag the newly created sequence on to the time line but all I get is the two files on the time line stacked over one another. the sequence never gets created.

I really don't remember this happening in Lr 3.5, but it is in Lr 4.1-3 and only effects Sepia toned images I edit for the most part. Just finished about 200 images from an event where I will put them on a DVD to music for purchase. They all looked fine when I finished with them. I exported them as JPEGs, long side 1024, quality 74. The rest of the long story short, iMovie made them look awful, opted for iDVD. First time viewing them all was good, but after multiple viewings after rearranging/adding/deleting images from the project, they look like crap. For some very strange reason, many took on a pinkish/reddish coloration and often will introduce artifacts that simply weren't there in Lr. I viewed my edited images on 2 other Mac's and the issue remains, so not my computer.
I have an 27" iMac, OS 10.6.8 (completed up-to-date), 3.3GHz duo core, 12GB RAM, 960GB of free space on a 1TB HDD. Under warranty the display and recalled hard drive have been replaced, so my Lr 4.3 is completely fresh; not from a backup. With the new HDD recent, I haven't calibrated my computer as of yet. My images are on a WD 3TB with 1.25TB of free space (a tad on the low side but shouldn't effect anything). My camera is a Sony A33 and I shoot strictly in RAW set for sRGB; using ProPhoto in Lr and for sometime now only in Manual.

I'm making a flash movie and I wanted to have a cookie fall into a glass of milk. I know that sounds sorta weird but its just a preview for some stuff.
Anyways I tried looking for a way to do it in flash and was unsucessful, if anyone knows a way to do it in flash that would be my prefference as I dont use Photoshop too often. However I could do it in photoshop and import it into my movie.
how to make something slightly trancelucent or even just make me a glass of milk that'd be great.
