After Effects :: Extract 3D Planes From Cineware?

Is it possible with Cineware to get a 3D layer into AE CC so that I can add text (or other AE data) in the exact 3D position/rotation as the 3D element?
 
I can do this using 3ds Max and state sets. It saves out planes as 3D layers in AE so that I can precompose them and then drop text or other AE elements into the precomp and it will keep the exact position/rotation from the 3D file. Great for adding dynamic text to animations without having to go back to the 3D program.
 
I cannot see any way to get any data other than lights and camera into AE. I know I can use the camera data and then drop text in and move it whre it should be but this is rough and can take time and effor to get it to work without it rotating wrong due to the position not being exact.

After Effects :: How To Get C4D Animation To Play Using Cineware

So far all of the tutorials I've seen regarding Cineware walk through how to bring a 3D object into AE.  But, I haven't seen anything yet on bring a 3D animation into AE.
 
I have a simple Cinema 4D 3D animation created with C4D R14.  I successfully brought it into AE CC via Cineware.However, it is not clear how to make it play in AE.  It plays well in C4D.  But, I can't get it to play in AE.

After Effects :: Cineware Not Translating Emitters Properly?

In After Effects, using Cineware, the particles from my emitters aren't properly making it in to After Effects.For example, here's frame 40 in Cinema 4D:
 
Now, here's that same frame in After Effects.Both the C4D and AE files are using the same frame rate (24). And if I keep playing the AE timeline, it does add more particles, but nowhere near like it is in the actual C4D file.For reference, I'm running Cinema 4D Studio R14 and AE CC.

After Effects :: Extracted C4D Camera Data From Cineware Does Not Align?

I spent the better part of the day animating a Camera (using the CSTools DocuCam setup) in Cinema. It's excatly how I want it. The camera rig is parented to a null which is simply changing its position around the scene. I'm also keyframing a target null that the DocuCam is following. The DocuCam has several xpressions that cause it to "wiggle" and quickly zoom in and out to give a handheld feel.
 
First attempt, I brought in the C4d (r14) file into AECC and hit Extract Camera data. Solo'd out just the DocuCam (the currently selected camera in the C4D source file), and added a Solid to the Comp. Scrubbed through the timeline to see if it moved away from the Camera as expected, and it is totally misaligned. The camera doesn't rotate or perform any of the same movement as it did in C4d.
 
I also tried baking all the keyframes for each of the elements in the c4d file, and re-import. Not any better. All the frames for the camera do import (without the nulls, etc), but again, it looks like I'd have to muck around with some nulls in AE to (maybe) get everything to align.

It will be annoying to have to CameraTrack my 3D rendered scene, when I have all that data in C4D.
 
Other attempts included:
 
Trying to use an .aec file and that only imported 1 keyframe for the camera, despite the baking method.
 
Repeat same procedure, this time with External Compositing Tags attached to the camera and assoc layers. Even attached it to a dummy object (Cube) in front of the camera and tag'd it.

After Effects :: Why Cineware Not Exporting Camera Data To C4D Lite

I have a live shot that I have 3D Camera Tracked using the built in AE plugin. I select 'Create new Camera and Solid'. AE creates a new 3d tracked camera and a solid. I save my comp. I go to 'File-Export-Maxon C4D', and create a new .c4d file. I import that file to AE, and put it in my comp. I go to 'Edit--Edit Original...'. C4D Lite opens up. I can see a new null, with a plane and camera inside. Everything looks great, but the camera has no animation on it. Upon closer inspection, I realize that none of the keyframes from my AE camera have been exported to my C4D camera.
 
I've tried exporting a new camera to C4D in as many ways as I can think of. The other strange thing was that the 'Merge Camera' button in the Cineware plugin in AE is grayed out, no matter how many new cameras I make. I've even made my own cameras and animated them without using the 3d Tracker plugin and it never exports correctly. I've also tried reinstalling C4D Lite.

After Effects :: Merged Cineware Camera Results In Jerky C4D Cam?

I am explorng the wonders of cineware and am running into a problem. animated a camera between two points. I animated the position, point of interest and X rotation I dragged a c4d file into the timeline and as expected the axis correlation is all goofy so I thought I would merge the camera data and recalibrate my c4d scene.
 
I selected "Comp Camera"  in the Cineware effect and then clicked "merge" under commands. I made sure that my c4d project was closed while I did this. I then hit command E to open my c4d project. The camera appears but instead of two set of keyframes, there are like 20 and as the timeline plays, the camera jerkes all over the place. there seems to be no rhyme or reason. It moves in the general directio nof the original ae cam animation but the cor. parameters are all over the place. I tries with the some easing interporlation in AE first and then just linear to make the animation translation easier. Same thing happens.

After Effects :: Extract External Image In Layers And Color Path

Well, to join the two different parts i have choosen AE software (actually is After Effects CC).Well, as i said the animation and scenario are in a different project, and i have joined both in AE. But the scenario is not always just a landscape. Sometimes is a building that the actor walks on it, so i have (in some way) to put the actor "in" the building, and if i was working with images i would easly solve that problem: select and extract to another layer what i want to be in first place, or to be the landscape. At the same logic, how can i do this in After Effects CC?Can i extract some objects by color as i can do in Photoshop?

2º For storytelling reasons, i would like that , in some moment, everything turns gray , and the actor is colored. but there's more! i would like that the actor leaves a colored path (the path that he is taking in animation). Is there any way that i can do it?

If i cant do it, i have to re-build the entire animation in Cinema4D.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Planes Visibility

I have 2 problems:

1. created a turbine whose blades are made from some planes that I applied thicken offset command. I applied circular pattern to multiply the blade around center point but i get too many planes and i must to make invisible each one. How can i make invisible all planes in the same time.

2. After i make them invisibile i exit from that part but when i start that part again or when i place it in an assembly all planes are visible. What should i do to make them invisible for ever.

Maya :: Image Planes Are Locked?

I create a new file.. and a new imageplane.. and it's frozen in all views.. it doesn't move around as it's supposed too when I tumble.

In the image plane attributes panel the image plane is set to 'attached to camera' changing it to fixed makes no difference.

Revit :: Trees Which Look Like Two Crossed Planes

I have a site plan with trees which look like two crossed planes when looked in 3D black and white. I wonder if there is a way to smooth these trees so they look smooth at least during the time that I prepare a PDF of the black and white 3D Site Plan.  If this setting can be reverted to the crossed trees after preparing the PDF, that is fine.  Also at this time I am working with black and white 3D, so color is not an issue, only the smoothness of the trees. Is there a setting that can make these trees look smooth?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Origin Planes Are Oversized

My model is up in the top right of the planes. I cannot figure out why my origin planes are oversized like this. I have went through the browser and checked all the parts to see if something is out there, nothing. I have set auto-resize on origin planes and yet these are large.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Xref Display And Cut Planes

Using PN, I set up 2 levels. Level 1 at 0'-0", Level 2 at 10'-0".  I create a Level 1 construct and create my AEC model.  I then create my Level 2 construct and xref my Level 1 construct in to use as an underlay.  However, using OOTB Medium display configuration I cannot see the Level 1 xref because the Level 2 cut plane is at 3'-6" and the Level 1 construct is 10'-0" below this cut plane.  Is this the intended result?

To allow me to see my Level 1 xref in my Level 2 construct, I am required to override the global cut plane in my Level 1 construct and set my wall cut planes, for *each* wall style, to 3'-6".  After saving the Level 1 construct, I reload in the Level 2 construct, and the walls appear, as an underlay, in the Level 2 construct as desired.

Is this the only way to see one xref above or below the other?  Isnt one of the major advantages of using xrefs is as underlays for stacking levels?I dont have to override the global cut plane in all my wall styles.

I just installed inventor. When I begin a part there is no display of the planes, only the corner indicators show up when I hover over a plane. Also, when a part is created, only the edges show up when I hover over them.

Trying to center some things in Revit LT 2014.  How do you find the center of dimension lines and refence planes and the like.  AutoCad KNOWS where the center is for these things.  How to tell in Revit?  For instance, I am trying to center an imported toilet in a space in a bathroom and something like this would take me about 5 seconds in ACad.

AutoCad :: Accidentally Sketched In Multiple Planes?

I have somehow managed to place items from my 2D layout sketch onto multiple planes in the Z axis. Again, this was on accident. I have not clue how I managed to do this.

How can I remedy this? Is there a way to project one plane onto the other, and then delete the original to get all of the features back on the same plane? What keystrokes must I have hit to cause this to happen?

I want to create a solid using VB and loft definition.

I creat each time different planes that have a constant distance in x dimension and a steady rotation each time φ (deg).

On each each plane i sketch the same profile and that is happened for 360 deg.

The problem is that Loft is not made because a line of the profile must follow a line tragectory and all other points must follow a circular tragectory. Also, there is a problem from 180 deg to 360 because there is intersection of profiles.

The result must be a solid similar to snail shell but all the same solid, as a cylindar whith a half sphere in the bottom.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Disappearing 3DClip Clipping Planes?

This is one of those AutoCAD sneaky buggers that ended up killing a large portion of my day so I thought it worth sharing.

We do a lot of things to get the best performance with 3D models. I generate Oil and Gas processing plant models using CADWorx Plant Professional in AutoCAD. For the size of our projects, speed we have to work at, and drawing setup concurrent with model completion no other setup has been as effective as 3Dclip.

The problem I run into with 3DClip is that once my 3D model reaches a certain size I loose the visualization of my clipping boundaries. I can watch my viewport change as move the clipping plane but don't see a handy dandy line to show where exactly it is clipping.

Here's the fix I found. Options - System - Performance Settings - deselect wireframe display in the Degradation order section. Now if I could just get my front clipping plane to show up white, blue, yellow, or any color other than black given my black background!

In my assembly I've set up angle constraints between 2 Plane's of 2 parts (min: 40 deg max: 160 deg). If I move the parts slowly the angle constraints holds but if I swing it hard sometimes it flips and gets out of the angle constraint.

Revit :: Complex Pipe Structure And Reference Planes

Attached is an image of one of the many Complex pipe structures that I am working on for steel fabrication (family), what I am trying to achieve.
 
I am creating these pipes using sweeps with reference lines at their centres, then I trace over them in 3D using pick path command when creating the extrusion. Is this a good way of doing it?
 
In trying to draw this particular element I have hit a problem. Drawing the curves that join the straights has become difficult as the straights don't align easily, and so I was wondering if there is a way of creating a reference plane by picking 3 points in 3d? This would be really, really useful!
 
The curve at the top left of the 'plan' joining the straights is difficult to draw as the straight on the left comes back at an angle and not perpendicular to say the rear vertical pipe work, which is drawn using another plane. I have managed to draw this so far by aligning it by eye, a dodgy way which is not really acceptable.
 
Found a way I think. A major part of the problem is that you cannot draw a reference plane in 3d! So after I have oriented to a plane perpendicular to the direction I want to draw, I then can draw an extrusion and then rotate the view in 3d and pick the face of the extrusion that aligns with the plane I want to draw on. A bit finicky really. Is there a better way?

3ds Max :: Render Background Image To Planes / Bake Texture?

I saw a max demo at a show where they shattered the wall in a video/photo. The artist baked the background image to three planes (floor and two walls) like shown in the illustration, and then exploded one of these planes. It involved some kind of texture baking, but I didn't catch the whole process.
