Im on AE CC. If I try to command+drag a text layer I get an error that says "( 17 :: 45 ) After Effects error: unable to invert matrix. ( 17 :: 45 )" and the text jumps to some random location.Â

What is this? I have never seen this and I have always used command to drag.

View 1 Replies View Relatedthe 12.2 update seems to have disabled the very basic function of drag n drop a folder to import. i cannot grab a folder containing an image sequence, or any folder of images, in either mac or windows, drag to the project window in after effects and import the files. when a folder is dropped into the project window, nothing happens. what's happened? am i missing something somewhere? i love the new feature of the output module to auto create a folder when rendering image sequences, but disabling drag n drop seems really counter-productive.

The selection of object works. Moving the set between two points works. The only thing thats too advanced for me is the drag posibility VB offers.

If you select an object and then drag it, it moves. This is without initiating the MOVE command and without picking any grips.
I don't need or want the drag and drop (DROPGEOM) command. I never use it because it is much slower than simply using the move command or grips. But some times when I am going faster than the computer I accidentally do it and then have to wait while it moves the object and then wait while I use undo to move it back. It can take a really long time if I accidentally move a large xref. So is there some way to turn off drag and drop of autocad entities?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using DP7, and working on a logo with 3 different shapes. They all have bevels applied to them (applied at different times and angles). I like having the light angle direction arrow to drag around to see the different effects from different angles but the arrow isn't always visible. What do I need to do to keep it visible, or make it visible? If I hit Ctl+B or Ctl+F the arrow will appear but the selected object will also move to the front or back at the same time. I've tried selecting the object first, then the bevel icon, and sometimes that works and sometimes not, although the outer bevel arrows will be visible. Even when the rotation arrow isn't visible I can change the light angle with the slider but I would prefer the rotational arrow instead.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm getting the same error on a project. Originally created in CC/Mac, down converted to CS6/PC (I don't yet have the exact version release). The sequence is 10 layers deep, and throws this error if we try to preview. If 8 of the 10 layers are turned off, then the sequence will preview as normal. So, is this a bug and is there a CS 6 version release that fixes this, or am I looking to reallocate RAM?

I've had this problem for some time. I'm on Vista-64-SP2 running Photoshop-CS2 When first installed PS-CS2 worked fine. I got no errors when starting the program and I could drag & drop icons from the desktop or windows onto the Adobe taskbar icon and the photo would load normally. Then I let Adobe automatically upgrade my CS2 and other Adobe products (Dreamweaver CS4, Illustrator CS2, GoLive6, Reader, Flash browser plug-in, etc.) and then I started getting a windows error message R6034 saying that "An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly." Microsoft says the fix is to recompile the application. Yeah right! OK, so I delete Photoshop and other applications and reinstall them all and the problem goes away ... until I let Adobe automatically update the products and the problem comes back. Yes, I can probably live with an unupdated virgin version of Photoshop CS2 but there should be an answer from Adobe or at least someone else to validate that my complaint is not unique. Another problem that may be related is that I've seemed to have lost the ability for Adobe GoLive6 to open Photoshop images for editing Also I've lost the ability to drag & drop from the desktop or a window onto an open Photoshop application or onto its icon on the taskbar. I've searched the web and find nothing similar. The solutions I have found were unrelated to my situation or were for a Macintosh. I've searched the forums here and find nothing that gives an answer. I know pretty much what I'm doing around computers and I keep a clean system.Â

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with the MIRRTEXT variable because that is used when I'm actually mirroring the text. In my case, the text is mirrored as soon as I insert it. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've made a fabulous Smoke Text effect that I then insert the .mov file into Final Cut Pro. The smoke effect I downloaded from the tutorial has a black background and therefore when rendered out, it's a basic white text against a black background. Once in FCP, I have to turn the file's opacity down in order for it to layer over a video file and not black out what I layer over it.

How can I make the file transparent? A simple toggle of the transparency grid isn't going to do it. I need to make or find a video of smoke that is transparent?
I’m trying to add some text effects over my video, but I’m really stuck right now getting After Effects and Adobe Premier to work together.
From the tutorials I’ve watched online, I’ve been trying to create a dynamic link between the two programs so I could easily create texts and other effects in AE that immediately show up on my timeline in Premier. I've been able to create texts, but whatever I create in AE is not showing up on the Premier timeline. Am I missing a step? Also, when I load up my sequence into AE, all of the color correcting that I’ve done with Looks inside Premier goes away, and the clips appear as they did right out of the camera.
In my Adobe Premire Pro CS6 project, When I select a clip that I want to drag down into the editing section it only allows me to drag the video and NOT the audio. I need both video and audio and it wont let me, I don't think I clicked anything wrong but

View 4 Replies View RelatedWith X4 I can right click a piece of text - with pick tool - and drag the selected text to an open area and the text is duplicated. With X5 this does not work - text is locked. The only way to duplicate is to copy / paste. Is there a setting that needs to be reset.

Been getting this error for a couple of weeks.Updated to the latest version - 11.0.4 - no joy.Have just completely formatted and reinstalled everything and still getting the error.
Sometimes in CS6 the delete command just acts as a non-optional "clear" command, and does not show a menu providing the content aware option. Sometimes this cures itself by closing and reopening the program. Sometimes not.

How do I get rid of this defect in the program?
I think I may have made a big error. While adding text and applying (experimenting) various "Effects" with the text, I used the garbage can icon to remove the "Effect", thinking it is going to remove the 'Effect" from the text, until I realized I had to remove the "Effect" with the edit button, not the garbage can. Have I now permanently removed the various "Effects" permanently or just off the screen? How do I regain them back onto the menu column? How many "Effects" should be visible in order to have the complete set? This was my first experiment with the lettering effects and hope I haven't lost them forever.Â

The video works fine, until at the end, when the camera moves through the text. When it moves through the text, it starts to "shake" the text. When the camera moves back away from the text, it stops shaking again.
I am running W8 with i5 3350 and a GTX 640 and 20GB of 1600 Mhz RAM (all at default settings). I am using AE CS6 11.0.2.12

I am using a dedicated 256 SSD for my cache drive------i.e. the ONLY thing on that drive is the AE cache information. I have allotted different sizes in the cache preferences, from 140- 220GB (The drive has 240GB free space when formatted).Â

The problem is, that no mater what the size of the cache that I try, if there is less free space on the drive than what the specified cache size is I will get the error

"your disk cache folder is on a drive that does not have enough available space" when opening After Effects.

160GB of cache specified in preferences + 100GB of information currently cached on drive = 260GB = The error message upon opening after     effects

I do NOT get the error if I make the cache small enough, or delete the cache before opening AE, but that completely destroys the purpose of the cache in the first place.

With that, I have two questions:

1. Is there a fix for this that tells AE to cool its jets a little and recognize that the information on the SSD that is taking up space and making not enough space available is AE's own cache information?

2. If the answer to (1) is no, then is this an error I can just ignore without any major issues?

Right now it seems that this means that I can only make my cache<50% of the total formatted capacity of the drive, which seems a bit over zealous.

I've recently updated CC from 12.1 to 12.2 and I cannot launch it anymore. After Effects launches its UI and after 2-3 seconds it crashes without any error message or crash log. My specs:

I've already reinstalled After Effects about 4 times, deleted media cache, deleted preferences, updated graphics drivers, rebooted my PC dozens of times but I still can't run it.
i gotta problem wit 'Element 3D v1.6'window version. when im animated E3D and then trynna 'Ram preview' in that case.i gotta error message like below,'element has encountered an unrecoverable error' 'after effect warning: a frame failed to render while using render multiple frames simultaneously. allocating more memory to the background processes in Memory & Multiprocessing preferences may fix this problem.'
