After Effects :: CC - Timeline Expands To Project Length After Full Screen Preview?
Mar 26, 2014
This seems to have only started happening recently, and it's a pain. After you preview an effect in full screen, the time navigator brackets are pulled to the very start and end of the video. You return from a fullscreen video preview to see your timeline extended over the whole duration of the project.
Is there some way to turn this off? I frequently work on small sections of a project, regularly watching full-screen previews to check how various changes look, and after the tenth or so time what starts as a minor irritation becomes completely infuriating. It seems like something easily fixed, but I've had no luck finding out how.
I have read as many reviews of PSE11 as I can find but none have mentioned the Timeline, which I use every day. Does it still exist in PSE11? What about the full screen view and compare side by side view? Do they still exist. If they do, can you still see the image full-size by clicking on it in full screen view?
I'm trying to edit a set of titles made in Premiere in After Effects, and after I import the file (as a Premiere file) then load the sequence into the timeline; the preview is just a black screen throughout the entire preview. The titles never show up.
I have made a movie and its 2 hours long,i knew trying to save this to a 4.7 gb dvd I would lose a little quality, well I'm impressed with the results, but for some reason the finish movie isn't full screen, now I know its saved at 4:3 not 16:9, and with 4:3 I expected to have space on both side of the screen when watching it on a TV or computer . But I also have quite a bit of space on the bottom and top as well. Here the properties of my project.
I just haven't found the setting, but I can't seem to make the cursor disappear during full screen preview in PSP x4! Is it something I'm not selecting?
I have searched to the ends of the internet for an answer, but have come up with nothing, however I noticed that there was an ESC key bug with full screen preview in PSP x3, and having a visible cursor would allow one to exit full screen without having to press a key. Could this be why the cursor is now visible? Now that I think about it, I've always been able to exit with either the ESC key or a mouse click. Still, this is something I've never seen before in any version of PSP.
I have just moved up to CS6 after many years of using Elements - so am coping fairly well with my new "toy" !
One thing has me a bit baffled:
I store my photographs in two formats: the original in .nef and the processed final version in .psd.
If I select "full screen preview" of a .psd file, in Bridge, it comes up full screen, but not at what I would consider to be best quality.
If I export a copy at 800 or 1280 quality in .jpg and view it in Windows Photo Viewer (or open the file in Photoshop itself) there is a distinct difference in picture quality compared to Bridge. The Bridge copy seems to have slightly muted colours and the sharpness is markedly less. I have two monitors so can compare them side-by-side, and have transposed them on the monitors with no difference.
In Elements, I can have the organiser on one monitor, if I highlight a thumbnail and hit F11 I get a full screen and full quality view on the other monitor.
Is this a "design feature" of Bridge/CS6 ? or have I missed something when setting CS6 up in the first place ?
I have completed a slide show and added 3 songs. The songs are showing up on the audio bar at the bottom, but when I do full-screen preview there is no audio. My speakers are working fine, i'm able to play songs from other programs. I am working in PS Elements 9 on Windows 7.
And another question, if i want to burn the slide show onto a DVD - what type should I buy?
I can't figure out how to adjust the size of the program screen when in Full Edit Mode. I can see portions of the Quick Fix menu and none of the Guided Fix menu. There seems to be no way to resize the window.
I have this classic kitchen situation: two boards (in the drawing one is a box, the other a extruded polyline) forming an inner corner. While chamfering all the outside edges I come across one edge (in the drawing the long one of the long board) where I want to chamfer the edge only from the right corner to the point where the two boards meet.
I have a video clip from you tube that when I load it into VS it only recognizes 2:20 minutes vs. 2:50 minutes that shows in windows media player. Why doesn't it recognize the full length?
I have an animation in Edge, and I'm trying to make a button that can play the timeline for a specified amount of time and then stop, without the aid of labels. So, I figured if i set the button to sym.getSymbol("mysymbol").play(500); it would make the timeline of that symbol play for 500 milliseconds each time the button is clicked, but it is not working, as this makes the whole thing simply start playing at 500ms. So I then tried adding a stop action after this:
But this didn't work, because I guess since these events are one after the other, it doesn't wait 500 seconds to stop, and it reads stop(500) immediately after the play instruction, so that didn't work either. I'm pretty new to javascript, but I've been really trying to learn it along with the Edge API for a couple weeks now and still can't seem to solve this problem.
So, this is something that's been a nuisance for a while now, and I think it's time for me to inquire seriously about a fix for it. I'm working with some ani's in max's timeline, and everyso often I find it starts to make use (or I start to make use...?) of "ticks"...I really dont wnat them, and in fact they cause a whole bunch of issues when adjusting keyframes as Im sure some of you can imagine.
Im not sure if it does this because of a setting I choose ( I always start animating in frames mode), or because I often will work in Key mode when Im swapping in a certain pose often...since all my character's animations are in one timeline.
The big question is...is there a way to FORCE these "ticked" keys onto full frames somehow? I've looked through all the timewarps I can find, and adjust <i>their</i> keys to full frames, but eventually it still goes back to ticks....WHAT MUST I DO!!!!! maybe there's a script, or Im missing something obvious?
I keep resetting to frames mode, and rechecking timewarps...to no longterm avail.
I'm new to video editing and know little about the program I am using (Adobe Premiere Pro CC). How I can add the full size video or pics to the time line. It appears whenever I add something from my Gopro 3 HD camera I only get a partial of the video / pic.
I have a series of tubes joined end to end to produce a long tube in several sections. I need to put a glow effect on the inside face for the full length, but have a graduated effect so that one end is glowing very hot, and then have a smooth transition to warm at the other end.
I tried applying individual glow effects to each section but the stepping is obvious.
I then tried adding a glow effect with a Gradient map added to the "Additional effects" on the options tab. This didn't seem to do much and there don't appear to be any parameters to control the gradient.
What is the best way to achieve the desired effect?
I trimmed a wav audio file with the little yellow markers in the clip by placing the markers where I want them and using the scissors, then saved it, but when I drag it down to the timeline it comes down as the original long file.
I have made a Family that is based off the Metric Structural Framing - Beams and Braces template. When I import my Family into a project and create a instance of the Family (which is a channel) the channel doesn't extend the whole distance of the geometric line. Its always 1500mm long (thats the default length in the .rfa file). See below image for my problem:
I made my extrusion inside the Left Elevation view and not inside a Floor Plan view; simply because it is easier to create the complex geometry of it. Maybe this has affected its inability to stretch to the length of the line? How can I edit my family so that the extrusion will stretch the whole length of the line/beam?
I have a contractor that created several families for us, and they left all the ref. planes full length, and I what them nearer to the objects. When I open the family all I see is ref. planes, I need to see them, I just want the closer to the parts not stick extremely far away. I can pick them one at a time, but sure would be nice to grab them at once.
My timeline looks just fine, and when I was originally working with the file, the publish went well. Now, the preview/publish are shifting elements causing a mess of a presentation and I cannot figure out why.
I recently got a new pc, installed X3 and transferred my project files and relinked my clips for the current project i'm working on but when I went to preview my work it does not display the video instead just shows a green screen. It does this in both the timeline and the preview window.
After realizing the Mercalli runs better on single clips, is there a way of editing a clip within a project and saving (after "creating" this clip only) and then reinserting into the project?
Noticed this when going through my photos tonight. When using the full screen preview in the Manage workspace, a photo will become more magenta after every pass.
Duplicate this by: 1. Double click on an image in the manage workspace to bring up the full screen preview. Take note of the colors. 2. Press the right arrow on your keyboard to advance to the next image. 3. Press the left arrow on the keyboard to return to the original image. Examine the colors...for me it is slightly more magenta. To make this change more obvious switch back and forth between the original and 2nd image. For me, the images become extremely magenta.
I'll include 2 images of one photo....the only difference being that the "magenta" one has gone through the process above 6 times.
I have a composition that I have duplicated and I want to switch out a music file from the copy and then render them both overnight. The timeline ( or whatever the thing is called where the time ruler thing is) only shows my original composition and i want to switch to the other so i can add the music file. How do i do this? i have tried dragging the copy next to the original comp.
Can I run Video Studio Pro X4 at other than full screen? While working on a project, full screen is fine. But, once I start rendering I'd like to have my PC back and do other things and have VSP render in the background. I opened the preferences dialog, could find nothing relevant. Doesn't appear to be the normal windows shrink button in the upper-right, only minimize which takes VSP totally off screen.
With CS I was able to press F+TAB to get a blackbackground screen for viewing my work ,why can't I do this with CS2 or is there another combination for CS2?
Whenever i watch i youutbe video people scroll through the timeline without having the picture to render. What happens for me is. I scroll through my video and the picture get's picelated and I see it loading the frame. Is this hardware sided or can I do something inside the software?
Specs: AMD Fx-4300 3.8GHZ 8GB Ram-1600MHZ ATI HD 6450 If i'm corect.
BTW: What are good memory and multiprocessing setting for me?
