3ds Max :: Perspective Viewport Appears Too Dark?

May 14, 2012

I recently upgraded to 3ds Max 2013 from 3ds Max 2011, but I've run into an strange problem where the lighting in the perspective viewport appears too dark.

This only happens in the realistic, shaded and consistent colour display modes. However the viewport is illuminated perfectly in the wireframe mode...

Photoshop :: Appears Way Too Dark On The Receiving Monitor

Apr 11, 2006

After editing a photo in Photoshop to perfection, converting it to a JPEG and then e-mailing it to someone, the image appears way too dark on the receiving monitor. I've sent images to people using both CRT and LCD monitors, set on maximum brightness, and the images are equally dark in both cases.

Multiline text appears dark with a true type font.  I have searched the boards and changed the Z coordinate to "0" manually, as well as the flatten command....still no luck.  The text was generated from the QLEADER command, but the problem also applies to text created with MTEXT.  I have attached the .dwg.

3ds Max :: Get A Black Screen In Perspective Viewport

Aug 18, 2013

whenever I open my 3ds Max software I get a black screen in my perspective viewport. When I go to use another viewport that one either turns black as well or the program freezes. I have been using this software for the past month or so with no such problems. Now, out of the blue, this happens. I wasn't using any other programs while running 3ds Max, I never do--just incase.

3ds Max :: Perspective Viewport Background Color?

Jun 10, 2012

I don't know how to change this annoying effect - that came along with 3dsmax 2013. The Perspective Background Color is always slowly changing to black -

I already changed the viewport background setting from "gradiant color" to "solid color". Futher i changed the viewport background color to light - but the gradiant change of the backround to dark is still there.

Maya Modeling :: Perspective Viewport All Skewed?

Jun 15, 2011

I have noticed that in one learning project my Perspective Viewport is completely skewed. Other projects are fine, just this one (so far).

Information:

See image IF01.jpg (below) the ViewCubein the Top Right of the Perspective Viewport is perfectly squared and showing the Left View - yet the Grid and all Objects on and around it are angled incorrectly.

Image IF02.jpg shows the Grid and Objects correctly aligned the way they should be - yet the ViewCube is now all off square!

3ds Max :: Broken / Jagged Poly Edges In Perspective Viewport

Oct 24, 2012

In the perspective viewport ONLY, i have spotty/broken poly edge lines with Viewport clipping turned 'on' and adjusted to allow zooming in more.

Max wasn't doing this until day before yesterday. the only thing i did to my system or max was use the FloorGenerator/MultiTexture script and plugin from CG-Source.

Removing the files from CG-Source did NOT resolve this issue. i've also applied EVERY hotfix/update from Autodesk and have the 'most current' drivers from NVidia.

Here's a viewport grab demonstrating what is happening (using Nitrous).

My system is not weak, though i could use a better processor:

i3 (quadCore)
16gb Ram
EVGA GTX550 ti (2gb)
OCZ Vertex SSD (120gb)

AutoCAD 2010 :: View Command Perspective In Viewport

Nov 30, 2012

I've struggled with the old issue of shifting images in rotated viewports. We use georeferenced aerial photography by way of these images inserted into their own drawing and then Xreffed into another drawing for printing. The issue is, the image appears shifted in some viewports. Most of the time it prints fine but not always. I searched the discussion groups and found a post a few years ago that a reply user stumbled across a quasi workaround. When the view command's Perspective is turned on and then off within the viewport, the image appears to be locked in it's correct position, not shifted. I have successfully used this procedure several times over the years until now. I have half a dozen drawings that when I turn the Perspective on and then off in a viewport, the image will not display. The xref is loaded and the layer is turned on in the viewport but the image doesn't show. What is the perspective portion of the view command within a viewport?

AutoCad :: Newly Created Viewport Blanks Out Another Viewport

Jan 23, 2013

Problem: When I create a new viewport, another viewport's paperspace blanks out or disappears. When I copy a viewport over, the new VP doesn't show anything and you can't maximize/"enter" its paperspace; it's like a simple rectangle, but the properties box says it is indeed a viewport.

Ex. Viewport 1 shows the top view of an object, Viewport 2 shows the right side view... as soon as I add Viewport 3, the top view in VP 1 blacks out. I attempt to ReDraw, Regenerate, etc, but it doesn't re-appear. I've run Plot Preview to see if maybe it's just a fluke with the graphics card on my screen, but alas, even in plot preview the viewport is blanked out.

It almost seems like there is a limited number of viewports I can use.

Solution: Run the MaxActVP command and set the value to a number greater than the number of VPs you actually need. This particular file had that value set at 2; hence, why a new, third VP blanked out the first one.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Editing In Viewport That Is Over A Viewport?

Jul 12, 2012

I have a drawing with a viewport that fits to the page. And I created another smaller viewport over top that just shows the legend. Now when I try to double click inside the smaller viewport it always goes into the larger one. I have tried bringing the smaller one to the front but that didn't work. I know that I can clip the larger viewport around the smaller one or bring the legend right into paperspace or slid the smaller one off to the side work in it and slide it back. This is more out of curiosity of how to get into the smaller viewport.

AutoCAD .NET :: Cannot Get Frozen In Viewport Status For 1st Viewport Of Several

Jul 1, 2011

I did a test drawing with 4 viewports in paperspace.I frozen a layer in each viewport (as a viewport override, not global), and wrote code to gather info on layer overrides in viewports. The function takes in a database, and is generally used on drawings only open in memory:

public static bool GetLayerInfoFromDB2(Database db) { //do viewports on layoutstry {using (Transaction tr = db. Transaction Manager. Start Transaction()) { ObjectId ldid = db.LayoutDictionaryId;DBDictionary ld = (DBDictionary)tr.GetObject(ldid,
[code]....

the odd thing is it never finds the frozen viewports on the first viewport.  It catches the others fine.I cannot see anything odd either, the counts of viewports and layers are all correct, and the drawing has no problems. Is there something that must be done to initialize the mechanism that reads viewport overrides?

Photoshop :: How To Get From Perspective To Flat?

Feb 6, 2008

I am looking for a quick and easy way to transform (part of) an image that is in perspective to make it flat (as if you are seeing it "head on").

I have looked online and tried Transform->Skew, Distort, Perspective, as well as Lens Correction, but can't get the results that I want.

I was recently playing around with Vanishing Point. So what I want to do is like the "opposite" of vanishing point. I would like to transform an image from a defined plane to the flat plane of my monitor. I tried defining a plane in an image and also defining a flat plane (i.e. just a rectangle with right angles), and then dragging a selection from one to the other.

The image was transformed but not in the way that I wanted. Is there a clear-cut way of doing this using vanishing point? Or another software that can do this straightforwardly after defining planes in the image?

3ds Max :: Static Screen While In Perspective?

Jul 13, 2012

Currently running the student version of 3ds Max Design 2012 in Win 7 as a virtual machine through Parallels 7, on a MacBook Pro OSX 10.7.

Yesterday when I opened 3DS Max Design I received the screen in the first image below. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Max, uninstalled and reinstalled Parallels, to no avail. If I maximize the viewport (ALT+W), I am able to see wire frames of the top, front, and side without distortion, however if I toggle to Smooth & Highlights (F3) in any of the viewports I get the same static-y screen as in the perspective viewport (see second image below).

Four days ago I did upgrade my machine with an SSD and 8 gigs of RAM, but since the upgrades I have been able to use 3DS Max Design without any issues, until yesterday.
