3ds Max :: Exporting Parametric Deformers Animation Data

I was trying to export some mesh from 3ds Max 2011 to Maya,which was animated using "Parametric Deformers". Now the problem is that animation data is not coming into maya rest of everything is getting ported exactly.
Will FBX exporter supports "Parametric Deformers"like wave or ripple,etc. animation data to export? Is there any other way to do so.

today i decide to work in production with maya 2013 it's the begin of project 1 make one light mib amb occlusion to fzke fg one portail light for soft shadow one plane on the plane i try to apply bend deformer , don't work , all deformers don't work so come back to 2012 and now i'm very tired to see that , with the more basic tool , bug arrived so i was desapointer with this poor release but i think ok , they work to clean all the bugs.

A: Can I export skinning information from one mesh to another. I have two identical versions of the character except I forgot to weld some verts on the model before skinning. Can I weld the verts and then export > import the skinning data? If so how?
B: I have someone working on some animation for me in CAT, I have since made some minor changes to the CAT rig (increased width of chest bones, that is all). I also changed all the skinning. Is it possible to export the animation data and load it onto an almost identical CAT rig? If so how?

I have bought a pistol model and am having issues importing it's anims from Max into UDK.When in the max the pistol looks fine: When I emport as FBX and then import into UDK the pistol looks like this:
This is because it is showing just as the editable poly. Looks the same in Max when i view the editable polyI can create the animations i need in max fine. My trouble is when I import the FBX animations into UDK, they don't seem to play at all after I've added them to my anim group for the skeletal mesh. I animated lots of characters and animals and exported into UDK fine. Are there some special export settings I need for a model like this pistol?

Im having issues when exporting an animation. I have set the time i want each layer displayed in the edit layer attributes section and entering a ms value. When i select layers, animation. play animation its perfect.
However. when i export it takes the values from that screen in preference over my specified values in each layer attribute. Explain the items in the export animation export window for me .

I am trying to collect the mean, median, and mode of the RGB color values for a lot of different images.. Instead of just exporting the histogram raw data, I would rather just export what you see in the 'statistics' window when you open the histogram window.
Also, if I just wanted to transcribe it myself, I am not even able to keep the histogram window open while typing the data in excel.. So I constantly have to click back and forth (or just get better memory)..

Can you take text from a drawing and export it out to excel? My thoughts are room numbers, employee names, department names, etc.

I've an illustrator document that has a code badge design. The bade design includes a 4 digit code that will alter 61 times but only in terms of the digits. I've set up my artwork into 2 layers with type on the top and the graphic underneath. Is there a way of using a script or code to export the graphic with each of the 61 codes or do I need to modify the Ai file 61 times and export 61 seperate raster images?

At one time I was able to export a file's original file name in the "Raw Data" area of the metadata. I seem to have lost that ability in LR 4. I find this useful when a client renames a file and then wants me to find the original. I would open the file in Photoshop (or even a word processor) and the original name would be in the Raw Data area in File Info.
When LR 4 imports the file the first time, it apparently still creates the xmp file with the file name at the end of <rdf:Description rdf:about="" field and it looks like: crs:RawFileName="_DSC6501.NEF">
At one time Lightroom exported that info. But now I seem to have lost that file name info, even with "Export All Metadata" selected.
This is how it would look in Photoshop's File Info:

I have some experience using GIMP but I have just completed my first animation for my wedding invitation.
I have used GAP and am happy with the Playback and am ready to export to gif - something I have successfully done before in smaller images.
However, when I export to/save as gif, only the frame I have open at the time is exporting, not the whole animation. I have tried this on my two different systems - using GIMP 2.8.6 on Windows and 2.8.12 (I think) on Ubuntu but I am still stuck.
I'm not sure what information is relevant but I believe my frames are named correctly (000001.xcf - 000268.xcf) and as I said, the playback is working exactly as I want it to. Just not the gif!

I am trying to export a rigged character mesh (with clothes and shoe meshes too) using fbx so that i can put the character into UDK. Max wouldn't do it at first. (exporting all the meshes with the textures) that is, it did do the fbx file but udk would always crach importing it.
Then i managed to export the meshes seperatly and udk would import them with the textures moslty ok. But.... then max would not export the animations correctly. it totally ignores the 'range' you specify when doing the export. UDK would import them but they were the wrong lengths because of what max exports. i had to go into max and delete the frames and keys of the animations i did not want exported. that worked. obviously i had to do that for all of my animation sequences.
Now. once i figured out that max would only export animations that way i thought 'a-ha, now i can try exporting the character mesh with the clothes and shoes and rig with the textures. but max won't do it. i even tried to just do the body mesh with the rig as i did before (she runs around naked in udk) but now max won't even export an fbx file that UDK recognises as having a skeletal mesh in it. UDK only sees a static mesh.
Do i need to re-install max? is that a hassle? or does it do a repaire?

I am rarely new to map 3d. What I would like to do is to export 3 dem surface in any kind of format, so that I could open it in 3d max.
I know how to generate Contours, but when I export them to dwg and later open in autocad architecture there are missing info on z coordinate - so everything is flat.
Is there some way to make .3ds file or .dwg file so that would really look like a 3d terrain in ACAD architecture or 3d max?

We're moving to Trimble Access on the survey data collectors which means that we have to export design data using Trimble Link and then use Trimble Business Center to examine the data and do any editing before sending it to the field.
So far I've found that alignments, profiles and surfaces seem to transfer OK. Corridors however have been an almost total failure.

I wanted to get a few opinions regarding exporting data.
We are working with AutoCAD 2013 Vanilla.
We have dynamic blocks with attributes that contain the block Name, Size, Color, material etc...
What is the best way to export the information?
Schedule and linked to a spreadsheet?
(I have experience with schedules but not so much with linking to spreadsheets)
DbConnect? (I know very little on this)
Another way to ask the question;
What is the best way to export the data that I can successfully train 20 designers on how to do it correctly.
So part one is determining the best method,
part two is training a group of designers to use it correctly.
I worked on getting a schedule out and linking to a spreadsheet but even after talking to my reseller support I feel that is too cumbersome. I would like a more streamlined process, you know the one, click here and presto!

I found out you can export the data table of feature properties from an SDF connection by choosing Options > Select All and then Options > Export and obtained a .csv file I was able to bring in Excel...but there are no headings for the data. How to export the column headings as well?

I have a live shot that I have 3D Camera Tracked using the built in AE plugin. I select 'Create new Camera and Solid'. AE creates a new 3d tracked camera and a solid. I save my comp. I go to 'File-Export-Maxon C4D', and create a new .c4d file. I import that file to AE, and put it in my comp. I go to 'Edit--Edit Original...'. C4D Lite opens up. I can see a new null, with a plane and camera inside. Everything looks great, but the camera has no animation on it. Upon closer inspection, I realize that none of the keyframes from my AE camera have been exported to my C4D camera.
I've tried exporting a new camera to C4D in as many ways as I can think of. The other strange thing was that the 'Merge Camera' button in the Cineware plugin in AE is grayed out, no matter how many new cameras I make. I've even made my own cameras and animated them without using the 3d Tracker plugin and it never exports correctly. I've also tried reinstalling C4D Lite.

I've got a short animation that I'd like to export, mainly because it's faster to use the tween function than manually adjusting my picture and saving every frame manually. Anyway, it doesn't look like Photoshop allows you to save animations in the Targa format and keep the alpha layer that I need in each individual frame. How I might go about either exporting the animation and keeping the alpha layer, or finding some way to work around this without having to manually copy the alpha layer to each individual frame by hand after I export it?

I am trying to map the mocap data to my character. In order to do that, i thought i just have to label the joints for each character and retarget. but in maya 2012 i cannot find the re targeting menu. I just found out that there is something called HumanIK, which i am guessing that it is very new.
Is there a way to use the mocap data in visor and map it to my character in maya 2012? without using HumanIK characterization Tool? also can i use mocap data(skeleton) in visor as HumanIk character ?or it is two different thing?

we are seeing "orphaned" animation layer data hanging around in our files. even in a totally empty file, it accounts for about 30mb of data, and it slows down loadingsaving. we suspect it came from a client asset at some point, but unfortunately it carries over even on merge so it has propagated quite quickly to a large number of our assets.
using maxscript to access the animLayer manager to delete these does not work either.. (it will remove a few of the layers, but others generate a runtime error) here's a snippet from the listener:

in max 2010, at the very least we were able to use "File-->New.. Keep Objects and Heirarchy", which would leave this data behind at the expense of removing all other keyed animation data in the scene as well. this doesn't seem to work in 2012.
attached is a screenshot from the trackview (only place i know to see it--the Animation Layer Toolbar does not see them). i would attach a file as well, but even compressed it is 24mb..

I have a spreadsheet in Excel that is split into columns. The first is the frame number, and the subsequent columns are the rotations about the X, Y and Z axis. There is also a column that has the location in the Z axis from the origin (0). These values are currently being input manually and keyed. The object being animated is a locator node which will form the parent of an object.
Is there a way to have these values read in automatically and for each frame to then be keyed to that value?
As I've never touched MEL or Python I wouldn't have a clue where to start trying to write some sort of script to do this.

Just came upon an error I had not seen before. Though PSP no longer supports Animation Shop, up until PSP X4, the user has been able to export frames back to PSP from Animation Shop. Now, this no longer works! There's still some communication there, because an error message - which, incidentally, makes absolutely no sense at all - is generated in PSP X4:

I'm wanting to use a diffuse colour to alter the iterations in the mesh smooth modifier. I'm using the wire parameters dialogue but am unsure of how to turn the 3 point value of the diffuse (rgb) into linear (1 point) data.
