Is it possible to edit mr physical sky to look like the sea.
I have attached three images from a job that i am working on at the moment. The sky looks really good but the dark gray looks pretty grim. If there is a way to make this gray area look like the sea?
I am rendering still images of construction stages. I am using a daylight system and i am wondering if its possible to change the mr physical sky to my own photo.
The images are of an oil rig so the photo is a very simple view of the sea with the horizon off in the distance so is very similar to the mr physical sky just more realistic.
I'm working with point clouds. is there any physical memory limitation working with autocad. because i had 32gb ram but didn't see over 4 gb for usage by autocad. my computer's os is win7 x64.

The issue is with the form is not updating when the file parameter updates. If I exit the form and run the rule manually then the form updates. how to update the form at the same time?

Is there a cloud feature in Inventor for drawings, or is that something that can only be done in Autocad Mechanical and Mechanical Desktop?
I have recently made a bucket for chain (linked) and was looking to put the chain in the bucket for visual purposes and to see if the capacity of the bucket is correct.
I can get the chain linked together, however when rotated round it passes through another piece of chain.
Is there a way in inventor to tell a part/assembly of it’s physical/mass properties? I know you can make something mild steel and get weight etc, however if not constrained it still passes through as if it’s a ghost.
It appears Max has no native way to match a physical tilt-shift lens like Maya, Modo, etc.?
I have a scene where I need to match the tilt-shift from a physical camera. I received photo tests, one with the camera pitched and without tilt-shift correction, and another with the tilt-shift lens used to correct the issue.
Using Modo I matched the virtual cameras to the physical camera during the design phase. Using Modo's Film Offset Y setting, I was able to put in the precise tilt-shift settings from the photographer to get a match.
Now in Max/V-Ray, I imported the Modo camera, made the necessary adjustments while establishing a vray camera and matched the camera without tilt-shift.
But I cannot match the tilt-shift corrected lens since V-Ray corrects the tilt-shift without altering the perspective like a real tilt-shift lens does. So the V-Ray camera vertical shift feature works great until you're trying to simulate a real tilt-shift lens.
Max's native camera doesn't support this either. Yet I was able to replicate the modo & real camera setup within minutes using the Maya camera.
I recently watch a movie with a couple of dinosaur characters fighting each other, and now I wonder: dealing with a lot of potential geometry interpenetration scenarios?
How do you deal with characters physically interacting with each other, as in two characters fighting, or hugging? Do you know if there is any nice tutorial covering that subject? I do not mean about clothing. That's a matter of dynamics and simulation.
regarding characters interacting with objects. Imagine a human character lifting a huge heavy barrel. The arms around that barrel should look like pressing against it. Or a person stepping up an extension ladder.
Each time that I go into my Photoshop Elements 8 it causes a physical dump and shuts down. I have only used this program a few times although I have had it a few years. The first couple of times it worked fine; but now, it shuts me down each time. I have already tried uninstall and reinstall.

Instead of displaying the obvious first choice metric SI notation kg/m^3 or something similar it display a self made? and awkward N*s^2/mm^4. I don't want this notation. How can I change to something more user friendly? It can be a bit hard to distinguish if a material have 0.00000000001 N*s^2/mm^4 or 0.0000000001 N*s^2/mm^4.
The document properties "units" folder have mm, seconds, degree and kilogram as default.
I'm trying to add some material properties to a STP or IGES file I've received from a customer (in Inventor 2011). Is there any way to add a density for example, so I can obtain the mass of the model? I've tried doing it through the iProperties menu but it's not giving me a mass.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe recently moved from Inventor 2010 to 2013. Since then we have been having alot of lag problems. One major problem we have found that is giving us lag is our RAM usage. Inventor continually steals more and more ram until its starts to lag out. When I open a large assembly inventor goes from useing 1.2 GB to 4 GB of ram. When I close the assembly the RAM usage stays at 4 GB. If I open another assembly it just builds onto that and can go up to 6 GB before it starts lagging badly. Closing inventor dumps the physical memory.
System:

I have opened Photoshop (7.0) I get a message on the lines of: -
You currently have Photoshop's Primary Scratch & Windows paging file on the same volume which can result in reduced performance.
It recommends that I should set the primary scratch volume to a different Physical Drive.
I have looked at my preferences which I havent changed (not intentionally anyway) and the First Choice is set as Startup and the others have nothing set. I only have my C drive and am unsure how to Zone another area for a second choice. Is it as simple as setting a folder somewhere on the drive. (I have 14Gb free).
When I duplicate the Material in the Material Browser all appearance and Physical properties are duplicated too.
So I must accept or assign the new unique names for appearance and Physical purposes of Material.
In my case I need, for example, the same Material with different appearance, for example knurled and regular.
I cannot save the new Material with existing Physical properties name and it makes unwanted copies like Steel(1), Steel(2) in Assets.
After I made a copy I can reassign the Physical properties back to existing but it takes a time of replacing assets and deleting unwanted copies.
Is it possible to make a copy within the same Physical Assets?
How do I set a constraint where 2 parts are attached to each other but do not phase through. For example if I have a door in a door frame, how do I add a constraint where the door can swing on it's hinges but get stopped by the door frame.

I'm importing an avi file (from Poser 9) into AE 5.5. The dimensions are 1200x900. There need to be 48 copies of the avi movie running at the same time behind a mask made of circles on a grid. (If you've ever seen the Coca-Cola commercials from the 90's where all the disks had animations on them, "La la la lala, always Coca-Cola..." think of that design.) The problem is that each copy of the avi needs to be 150x150 in order for it to work.
how to reduce the FILE size, not the literal physical dimensions of the movie clip.
I have an image that I want to use in a video, though it is not physically large enough to fill the 1920 x 1080 dimensions of the video, though it has a 300ppi resolution and video only needs 72ppi. How do I take advantage of the fact that it is high resolution image, and increase the physical dimensions of the image? Is there a way to do this?.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI have a .iam and .idw that i copied/designed from vault. The .idw has a sketched symbol that has a text box with the mass property. When update mass is applied the mass property in the text box does not. I ran into this once before and got it to work by re-inserting the symbol into the .idw but I can't get it to work. The orginal that was copied from works fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a new iMAC, a 21.5", 2.7 GHz one with 12 GBytes RAM. My intuos 4, when using Photoshop CS6, works on and off. I mean, when I am painting with the finger tool for instance, and more often than not, I try to make the strokes but the damn finger brush cursor won't move on the screen until a couple of seconds had passed.
In other words, there's a very annoying delay between the physical stroke on the tablet and the brush moving on the screen, it's not simultaneous as it ought to be. And I have installed the latest driver of Wacom for this model!!! This never happened before with the older iMAC, 2.4 GHz and 4 GBytes RAM. I mean, it should work even better.

View 5 Replies View RelatedInventor seems to do lots to allow for simulated appearance textures. However, how does one use actual physical textures, e.g. for a plastic part? I need one surface of the plastic part to be very rough/bumpy, another to be slightly rough/bumpy, and another to remain smooth/untouched.
Let me be forthright and say I have no background here in textures/plastics/molds etc.,
Al my projects, settings and templates use the Metric system.
When i open the material physical properties i see the Imperial System.
How can i change this ?
I'm designing some screens for an retina display iPad and I just want the illustrator document on my 27" thunderbold monitor (at 109 ppi) to have the same physical dimensions as the physical iPad screen (7.75" x 5.81"). Maybe its so obvious that no one talks about how to do it. I do feel a little embarassed that I haven't figured this out.
Regardless of whenther I enter the doucment dimensions in inches or in pixels the resulting document is never the same pysicial size as the iPad's screen. And since Illustrator deals in vectors it doesn't have any notion of PPI that I can use to bring inches and pixels into alignement so that what I see on my monitor is the same physical size as what's in the iPad.
All i want is the AI document displayed on my monitor to be the exact same size as my iPad's screen.
is there a function in photoshop cs3 that will reduce the file size of a photo without affecting the physical size of it, i know macromedia fireworks can but thats no help to me unfortunately...
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to print and select "center" the image does not center on the page. CS5 worked fine originally but after the last update it too seems to have this issue. From what I can observe it seems as if someone thought that showing the printable area on a page was useful and somehow that may have been worked into the calculation of what centered (on the long dimension of a print) is. Engineering aside, if you actually try to sell your work, your client / customer only sees that the image is not centered on the physical sheet. They don't care about the printable area. The only work around I have found is to uncheck "center" and key in 50% of the difference between the actual print size and the actual paper size as a margin. I don't want to scale prints. I need to print to specific dimensions.
For reference I am using a PC running Windows 7 and an Epson 4900 printer
I downloaded a trial version of Ps CS6 to use at work when I started to work on an image right. Well, to my surprise I couldn't unlock the only layer in the file. Double-clicking on it produced no results, and Ps wouldn't even let me rasterize the layer. Thought I might have had to do that. So I'm investigating the menu options to get a new layer and everything is greyed out.

How do I save the images as a single PDF, like the original?
I have been using MS Digital Image Pro and up until now it has worked for me.
Here is my problem. I take a lot of pictures of coins. Sometimes I have to tilt the coin slightly to get a good rendition of the color. So at time the image is slightly oval.
I can not figure out how to use a tool to outline the coin, cut it (or copy) and paste to another project. The part that I can't figure out is adjusting the circle marquee tool to the perimeter of the coin.
