3ds Max :: Create Animation Of A Cloth Banner Attached To A Wall
Mar 18, 2011
I need to create an animation of a cloth banner attached to a wall. The bottom of the banner will be either held up, or rolled up. Then I want it to be released, revealing what is on the banner.
Are there any tutorials showing how to set up cloth using physX?
I'm using the brick wall background, and I would like my banner to look like it is embedded in the wall itself, almost like pressed text. Is there a way to possibly to this?
I'm trying to simulate metal deformation. To achieve a realistic metal denting I'm trying to use Cloth. The problem is though, whatever settings I try, my cloth-box collapses from itself. My question is; how can I set cloth up so that it can be as strong as metal, and only deform when I drop an object on it (that's where the denting comes in)?
I have a wall tool whose style has a sweep attached, when I added the tool to the palette it drops the sweep. I know this was a wish list item a few years back. Has the feature been added that allows me to add the sweep to the tool so I dont have to manually import and add the sweep in every drawing?
I'm trying to create a pillow but I can't get the narrow and tight shape with the cloth modifier. I have done exactly as the tutorials that I have followed, but I have done this several of times, but I don't get it like I want it and I'm wondering if I have missed something or if there are any values that I can change to get the cloth closer to the shape of the pillow? And why is some part of the pillow visible and not inside the cloth?
I am modelling a Domestic Pump with tubes hanging out of them (I've made the model of the pump itself already), the tubes themselves is what I want to animate.
how to make the tubes using the Line Tool and increasing the thickness which would result a nice long tube However my problem is, is that how do I get to have the Line (or Spline?) directly attached to a certain point on my Domestic Pump model to make it look like it's part of it and moves along with it (and not having to keyframe it's movement precisely and all the time)? in addition, to animate it afterwards as well without it being detached from it.
If any of you are having difficulty imagining what I'm talking about, think of it as a Hoover (Vacuum Cleaner) with a Hose Pipe that needs to move freely through the use of a
i have a model, bound to a skeleton, which is all green-lit in the character controls window. however, when i create a control rig for it, maya creates a new skeleton which the rig controls (working fine) but that is not attached to the original skeleton. what do i need to do to get them linked or to get the auto-rig to manipulate the skeleton that is bound to the geometry already? see attached image as how i can move the bones in the maya created skeleton and its IK, but it doesnt affect the originals (ignore the custom rig panel, that was just me trying another approach to bind the default control rig to a previously made rig that does work)
I am trying to rig a HumanIK character so that both of his hands will stay attached to an object (gun, sword, bat, golf club, etc.). I can get the object parented to one of the hands and it follows along as expected, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the other hand to automatically stay attached to the object or follow it.
I've tried parent, point, orientation, etc., constraints using locators, the IK effector itself (wrist) and a few other things. It seems the HumanIK programming keeps a firm hold on the effectors and won't let anything other than the software drive them.
My HumanIK rig is properly setup and its definition locked. Using Maya 2013.
I'm trying to create the attached two logos I drew. The top is a stand alone "A" logo with a space background inside the star and a metalic A and loop.
The second also is metalic lettering except for the s which I would like to be bright yellow at the start and fade down the underline.
Where to start creating a figure similar to the attached image.
I'm trying to recreate a logo for someone who lost their original files and I'm struggling to create this little 'stick-figure'. Is CS6 the best place to try this or would I be best looking at an different software.
I am trying to find a program that will work easily in creating multi-image banners. For example I may use 12 5x7 images that run horizontal on 10" roll paper. Can I do this with Lightroom or do I need to use a different program? I am open to recommendations!
I have an access database attached to a blank drawing. The database is a list of existing oil wells. I want to have civil3d (or map) create a custom block (I already have the blocks created) inserted at a coordinate in the database and propagate the other fields in the database into attributes in the blocks. For instance, the first two fields in the database are the x and y. Some of the other fields in the database are the well status and company name. Is it possible for Map to read the first two fields to know where to put the block, then select the block to insert based on wells status and company name, and then complete attributes from the other fields (section, township, range, county, etc) into the block? I'm having a hard time getting my head wrapped around the map3d user's guide talking about topologies, link templates, object classifications, etc. Using Civil3D 2013 infrastructure design suite, Win 7 64-bit, office 64-bit.

Is there a way without having to open up Illustrator to create a banner? I am working on a water label and in the design I need to have a banner with folds on both ends like on a welch's grape juice bottle.
I've been fooling around with paint net to get acclimated. I know how to make rectangular banner - but I would like to make a banner that has rounded corners. Does paint net allow me to do that>?
I am working in CoreDraw X6 on Windows XP, and I was trying to create an animated gif banner. When I completed the set up, hit preview, the animation did not work. Thought maybe it was just the preview so I saved the file as an animated gif. Opened it in Windows Picture Viewer, and it still did not work. I also tried the process in X5 without any successful result.
How to create a banner with colorful zebra print on the inside of the text and a sparkly black glitter border on the outside of the text? I can't find any zebra glitter fills .
I want to create a structure using the attached part geometry, what would be the best way to make the crosses coincident with the two long columns? (just like the 2 at the top but without having to manually trim each line, if it could be constrained to variable parameters even better)
The structure has the same geometry on all four sides so i intend to circular patern the frame generator components around the Z axis, any better workflows?
Are there any options in 3ds max to create wind force coming from the opened window?
I've just created simple scene where curtain hanging near closed window. I want to open the window and put some wind to the room. I'd like to move one part of curtain (the nearest to window) but now my wind force doesn't see wall and all curtain is moving.
How connect collisions between wind force and wall in 3ds max 2012?
I am trying to create a stress analysis on a shaft with two blower turbines attached. What feature in Inventor 2012 is the best way to represent centrifical force on the shaft due to the weight of the blowers and the inputs of rpm and torque.
I have lots of software code (in tSQL, html, JavaScript, XAML, and C#) that I need to print in a long scroll. The scroll will be no more than 440mm wide and as long as it needs to be (though the roll of paper is 45 m long so I’ll need to make sure it is shorter than that).
The resulting code listing is to from part of an exhibit contrasting the ‘sketching’ phase in a multidisciplinary project between design, social science, and software engineering. The exhibit will form part of the Research Through Design conference [URL]...
At first I thought I’d print straight from the development environment (Visual Studio 2012 and SQL Server Management Studio) but I realise now that is not possible because
1) Both tools assume standard page sizes, and 2) I need to rotate the software code listing 180 degrees so that the end of the listing is at the tail of the paper roll.
For these reasons I’m doing it in Adobe Photoshop (CS5, 64 bit, on Windows 8).My workflow for this is verging on the ridiculous.
1) If I cut-and-paste the code listings file by file from Visual Studio 2012 and SQL Server Management Studio into Photoshop (or Illustrator) I lose the formatting, for example the coloring of comments differently form variable declarations. (See [URL]...)
Thus Step 1 is to cut-and-paste each file into a Microsoft Word document.
2) If I cut-and-paste from the Microsoft Word document into Photoshop I still loose the formatting, and Microsoft Word does not seem to be able to cope with the paper roll nor rotating the print. So I save the Microsoft Word document as a PDF and open that into Photoshop.
3) I now have 51 Photoshop files each with one layer containing the text for that ‘page’, though I think it’s an image as it is not editable as text. I then save each of these files.
4) Using Adobe Bridge I open all 51 Photoshop files created in Stage 3 and “Load Files into Photoshop Layers” so that I have a new single Photoshop file with all 51 text image layers in.
5) The layers sit on top of each other. What I need is for them to sit head-to-toe. I don’t know how to do this without spending a million years selecting layers and moving them by hand.
6) If I ever get Stage 5 done I will then group the 51 layers and rotate the result through 180 degrees.
7) I will then resize the result to have a width of 400mm and print the resulting file on our banner printer, having first calculated the resulting paper ‘height’ and turned off the automatic paper cutting.
So my questions are:
1) Is there a better way of doing this? 2) I can see the Photoshop actions that will align layers by their tops, their bottoms, or their centers but how do I automatically align them so that the bottom of layer 1 touches the top of layer 2, the bottom of layer 2 touches the top of layer 3, etc.?
Is there anyway to create a gap in AEC extended wall in 3ds max. I know to create a gap while using doors and windows. But I wish to create a gap without any doors or windows. I do not want to use proboolean also, because I need the properties of Walls too.
Is there any modifier to create proboolean? Can we create a curved wall using AEC extended wall?
