in Xara Designer Pro 7 is there maybe possibility to put one big image which as fixed is behind of the Page?

I have happily migrated to Xara Designer Pro 7 for our company web design. But I am coming from a program that handled background images and object properties differently,URL...
In Net objects, to do this, you set a background colour in the sitestyle menu, set the background tile using the body tag in the text styles or CSS menus, and place the decorative paragraph graphics as backgrounds in individual text boxes or layout regions.
I think layered designs like this would probably be achieved by a combination of features and tweaks, but cannot work out how. I can get a background colour on the pasteboard as well as a design - using a Tweak. But doing it this way means that the design does not align properly - at least not so far as I have been able to achieve.
Would love to know the views of the experts here, particular those who also use Net objects Fusion.
I'm working on a web page and the index says to drag and drop a color to the pasteboard. Sounds easy but I can't get it to work. I can only drop a color on the page background. I want to match my pasteboard and page background. I'm using Graphic Designer 6.
After I posted I was shown similar threads which seemed to say that this is not possible in this version. I guess I will be looking forward to upgrading to WD7
I have an OS plan with the 100 metres squares marked.I want the ruler to coincide with the known 100m length. Then I can mark on layers various lines of say 7m or 25m long. How can I set the ruler and guides to enable me to draw lines such as this.

e.g. I just created an image which is 788x 953, however when I import it (using File ==> Import etc...) it arrives at 500x376!
Is there a way to create a fixed size selection rectangle that I can use whenever I want to take a selection from a larger image? Currently, I'm am doing this by trial and error and it's not fun.

Is it possible to crop to a fixed size (e.g. 400 x 250 pixels) in Elements the same way you can in Photoshop?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use Xara sometimes to resize images/photos. Quite often I use the clip view function to crop the image to the precise size I need.
I just recently found that when I export my clipped views, always as pngs, they have a very small 1 to 2 pixel edge around them. I can keep clipping but it continues to stay there. I exported with alpha and without to see if it made a difference but it doesn't.
I am now having to use my raster program to resize but had liked using Xara for it. The raster program works fine and I suppose every program has its uses so I just won't use Xara for photo clipping and exporting anymore. I just think that there shouldn't be an issue since Xara seems to want to handle photos more.
The attached images show extreme closeup of a blue image on a black background (the black background is used for checking this very problem).
How do I create a fixed size Selection, Shape or Path?
View 1 Replies View Relateddoes anyone know if it's possible to export a desired (fixed) file size with a batch automation in Photoshop? For example:
I have 50 images (*.jpg) that have different file sizes (25k, 15k, 45k etc) now I would like to export a fixed file size to 10k for all images...
I have tried this in Photoshop and in Fireworks, but the Programs exported 10K or less and sometimes even greater than 10k
I would really be happy if someone knows a way to do this or if there are any stand-alone programs that can automate and export targeted file sizes.
I have annoying problem that happens ones in a while. when starching lines i use to select the blue point, type a number and have the line extend or trim respectively.
For example , line which is 40 and i want it to be 60 ill click the blue dot, move the mouse in the direction i want and type 20.
Right now if i do the same the length of the line become 20.
This is for Rectangle Select. I read somewhere else that it's possible but it didn't say how. I would also like to change the default for fixed ratio from 4:3 to something like 1:1 (square).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop Elements 10 on Win 7 PC. I am trying to print multiple copies of one image on a single 8.5x11 sheet of paper? The images are artwork for buttons (to be used in button-making machine) so the dimensions must be exact on the duplicated images. When I select Picture Package, the images are resized to fit the dimensions in the picture package. When I select Contact Sheet, the images are resized to fit the number of columns I selected. Neither is acceptable. How can I repeat the same image on a single piece of paper without having the system re-size the image? I know that I can manually create a new PSE file and manually insert the images into this file. This is what I have been doing as a work-around.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery other app but Photoshop seems to let you view what's off the edge of the pasteboard instead of just covering it with gray. I would assume Photoshop also has this capability but defaults it to be off on startup? The option to have both views toggleable would be ideal (and extra 'F' press or something?).
How I can do this? Using Photoshop as a drawing painting tool spans the gamut of the entertainment industry and this ability to 'see and draw outside the box' seems like a simple but profound staple of professional design practices (and why all the other apps default to having it 'on'). I see the shapes are there via Marque's etc, I just can't see them. Is it maybe a 'per layer' option?
I'm wondering why, all of a sudden, the pasteboard area around the page is tied directly to the page. Example: If I draw full-scale out in the pasteboard area on page #1, then go to page # 2 or whatever, everything in the pasteboard area disappears. In a multi-page document this is really a problem as I have to click on every page to find out where my full scale drawing is. It wasn't always like this. What ever was out in the pasteboard area was always visible no matter what page I'm on. This is something new and it's very inconvienient. How do I reset so the pasteboard is unaffected by which page I'm on?

Now, how do I export that for the printer? They say they need the file 100% scale @ 300 DPI, when some other online dudes say they can do with ~150DPI, to scale the image 1/4, etc.
When I try to export full size, XDP doesnt let me put anything beyond 70 DPI or so, even if I type 300 in the box, it gets rid of the last zero. So....how do I do it????
i am playing with the trial version of DP7 - i have been using Xara for years and i always change the button size to small to get the most out of my screen real estate... since i am working on a laptop, this is actually pretty critical.

Is there a way to set what the default page size when you start XP&GD 2013? It always starts with a page size of A4 which I never use. I have a custom template that I would like to set as the default page size.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNow that I've learned to isolate part of a photo using the mat, when I exported what I cut out it was tiny. My original photo was thousands of pixels wide. It reduced the cut out area exported to about 200 x 300 pixels which was a tenth of the size. I read a recent post on importing at same size using the utilities menu and clicking the last bitmap option to import at same dpi, so I did that using another photo so the utilities menu would show, then closed that photo and imported my photo again. But when I exported it to jpg it was tiny again. I checked to see the option in the utilites menu was still set. Is there a limit to picture size? I like to work with large photos so they print well as giclees and photographs. why I can't import and export at the full size .Am I having a problem because the dpi of the original is 72 dpi?

The first item is a graphic to be used as a static background picture via a green screen technique. The second item is an animation with an alpha channel to overlay a video scene. Both items will be created using Xara. My question is: How big do I make the document & animation so that they will fit seamlessly into the above video? Do I work with a document size of 16x9 inches or 1080x1920 pixels? I realize this is probably a simple question. But I need you experts to weigh in.

I have just switched to using Xara Photo and Graphic Designer 6 for my graphics design needs. Is there any way to create a default page size so that no matter when the program is opened it will always open up to that particular page size?
I am used to working and creating on a full "blank canvas" or pasteboard, rather than using page sizes that Xara seems to prefer. Every time I open the program I have to return to page options to re-set all of my workspace parameters and it gets frustrating after awhile.
For example, my preferred page settings are as follows: Page Size=A0 (which provides me all white space to work in); Outer Margin=0in [8in is always automatically pre-set by the program]; and I always choose Landscape, but the automatic pre-set is always Portrait.
There should be a way for the user to control how the workspace appears each time the program is opened, but how to make my page settings "once" and then have those settings be the default from there on out. It's just time consuming to go into Options every time I open the program and have to re-set everything all over again.
