May 24, 2013can Corel VS Pro X5 (or X6) convert video clip frames to images ( .bmp, .tif, ...)? Also can convert images to video clip frames?

I need to export video frames to images, jpeg for example, I use "Edit / Take a snapshot" from VideoStudio Pro X4 menu, but this option only exports 1024 x 576 resolution images....Can I export 1920 x 1080 resolution images?
VideoStudio :: X3 - How To Remove Some Frames From A Clip
Aug 28, 2010Trying to take a chunk of frames out of the middle of a clip. The manual says:
"The Navigation Panel is used to preview and edit the clips used in your project. Use the Navigation Controls to move around a selected clip or your project. Use the Trim Markers and Scrubber to edit your clips."
I have done that. Trim Markers set to start and end of frames to be removed. So what is next? Where is the magic button that removes the unwanted frames? Have tried Delete but nothing apparently changes.
While I am at it, how do the scissors work? Can click on them at the start of a series of frames but they become greyed out after that.
Have done a lot of stuff in Windows Movie Maker, which was much more straightforward, but unfortunately it can't cope with HD. VSX3 manual is good at giving you various different ways of selecting frames for deletion, but seems to miss out on the punch line: "now do this to delete them".
VideoStudio :: X4 - AVCHD Splitting Frames On Each Clip?
Nov 30, 2011I have a very unusual problem and I can't work it out. I have 1920x1080 clips in AVCHD format taken from my Full HD Digital movie Camera. It's a cheapy - Kogan! When I place all the clips together in Studio Pro 4 and render the video outpout or even preview in the clip window I get the frames splitting above and below the frame. The clips play fine in all players and as you can see in the second attachment is the Pro preview player compared to Media classic which renders the clip correctly.
You can see the top and bottom of the frame is duplicated on every transition or start of next clip
VideoStudio :: Render Video At 60 Frames Per Second?
Jun 20, 2011I have Video Studio Pro X3. I've never had a problem since I got it, but recently I've been trying to render video at 60 frames per second. I've looked everywhere online for tutorials but still don't understand how to do it. I keep getting 29.97fps in the end. I need it for a project and I need it very soon.I use MP4 video files at 60fps.

Sep 4, 2013Working with a 1080p/60fps mp4 file from my GoPro 3. Trying to save a trimmed clip using "same as first video clip" option. Everything seems to work fine but the saved clip plays for a second and then the video freezes but the audio continues. This happens playing the clip with WMP and VSx6. The original untrimmed mp4 plays fine.

Jun 28, 2011I'm using Ulead VS 11. When I make a clip and render it as new video, the new video is repeating frames all over the place. As it renders I can see it happening. It's like the video renders minute/second 1:01, then jumps back to 1:00, then re-renders 1:01. All over the place. These repeat frames are not in the original video.
The format of the original video is MPEG2, 8000 bps, and is being converted to WMV (don't ask!). I have found that the only way to retain any semblance of quality in the new video is to change it to WMV, and for my purposes, this is adequate. I have tried about 10 of the different output formats offered in the "Create Video" option, including saving with settings the same as project settings, and the result is the same, with the exception that the WMV 720 is the only one where a decent quality is maintained. That's a whole other question -- why rendering with "same as project settings" gives me total junk.
Is there some other setting that could be causing these frame repeats? I don't believe I had these problems when the original video was WMV rendering to WMV. But MPEG2 to MPEG2 is not fixing it either, so there must be something else.
VideoStudio :: Remove Object From Video Frames?
Oct 17, 2011I have taken a short video of a man sitting at a table. There is no movement but the man is talking. A little bit of the microphone can be seen. I tried to take the video into Paintshop Pro X3 to remove this object with smart carver. Is there a way to edit this video so that unwanted objects can be removed from the frames. I have Paintshop Pro X3 on this computer, and PhotoImpact on another computer. Can either of these programs be used to remove objects from frames.?

May 6, 2011I shot a sign then paned to building. However regardless of what I used, the wind was so bad that day the video footage was useless.I figured that would be the case the day I was shooting so I took out my Sony still camera and shot a series of still shots panned.I now need to take those still shots and make it appear as though it is video panning from the sign to the building. I then can lead that into a video that did come out good of the front of the building.In VSX4, ?I have done similar before by trimming the time and adding crossover, but it just does not look "good".

Aug 24, 2011I have a number of video files captured at 1080X720 full frame resolution at 29.97 frames/second, shown on my PC as .MOV files.
When watching the original files either on my PC or TV, movement is fluid and smooth.
When watching a finished video created via VideoStudio Pro X4 using the aforementioned files, movement is jerky, and is particularly noticeable when watching a panned scene. The effect is so bad that it makes viewing on a large screen impossible as the picture movement jerks/judders about. I have looked at the project preferences, and notice under Project Option>General tab, the only available frame sizes are the standard ones which only go up to 720X576. The radio button to select a user defined frame size is greyed out and cannot be selected to input my own frame sizes. I’m therefore unable to actually input the frame size of the source video files.
Basically how do I render a finished video without jerky movement?

Jul 20, 2012I've been unable to resolve a problem encountered when I insert a "title" to overlay on the first 30 seconds of a corresponding video clip.
When played back, the subsequent portion of the remaining video clip past 30 seconds goes missing. However, on this "missing portion" the audio portion of the video clip is present while the video portion becomes solid black to the end of the clip. The same result happens when I burn it.
In the "PROJECT" playback mode both the title and the video play fine, as do both the video and title in the "CLIP" mode.
VideoStudio :: Save As First Video Clip Error / 18706:1:1
Jul 2, 2011I just purchased Video Studio Pro X4 and I'm hoping it wasn't the wrong decision. We do a lot of voice overs and wanted to start adding subtitling and audio swap to our list of services. Subtitling with the software has proven to be easy, as well as the audio swap. But I've just ran into a problem that I can't solve (I'm an audio guy through and through...but my video skills are low)
Video Type: H.264 Baseline Profile Video
Total Frames: 6,356
Attributes: 24 bits, 1280 x 720
Frame rate: 25.000
Data rate: 4836 Kbps
Audio Type: MPEG AAC Audio
Audio Attributes: 48000 Hz, 16bit stereo
I easily swapped the original audio for ours and wanted to render the video exactly as it was given to me. However, when I try using the option: "Save as First Video Clip" it gives me the error:
"The frame size (1280 x 720) of the video file does not match the settings and therefore cannot be trimmed." 18706:1:1
This happens on both of my computers (Windows XP & 7). Am I missing some codecs...my video cards not up to snuff, or something else? Again, I know little about video.
In Settings, I tried changing the project properties to similar settings as the original video, but the highest frame size it will give me is 720 x 480; and 'user defined' is grayed out. Not sure if any of that matters at all.
Lastly, yes I can manually type in all the info in the Custom option and can successfully render a video with similar specs, but I was hoping to just use the "Save as First Video Clip" option.
VideoStudio :: Deleting Audio Completely From Video Clip?
Dec 5, 2010I am attempting to completely strip and/or delete the audio from a video clip after I drag it into the time line.
The purpose is to not only eliminate the audio entirely since it will never be used with the video, but to also make the total file size smaller.
I notice that when I "split the audio" from the video clip, the audio clip is still present in the video and the file size is the same -- even after I have deleted the "now split audio" from the time line. When I right click on the video clip, I also notice that the audio is simply muted, not deleted.
Is there any way to totally delete the audio?

Apr 1, 2011If I have project properties set to anything but the default, I am unable to scrub through a clip when in clip mode if the clip has the second icon indicator, as shown in the screen grab below. This second icon (double diagonal frames) does not appear immediately. Before it appears, I can scrub in clip mode, but after it appears, I cannot. What that icon represents? My video files are from Canon HV20 (m2t 1440x1080) and my project properties match them.
I have a suspision that it has something to do with proxy files, and that once the proxy file is made, I lose clip scrubbing.
I just tried turning off smart proxy, and wouldn't you know it, I can scrub in clip mode.
I restarted X4 and clip scrubbing is fine. I enabled Smart Proxy, and clip scrubbing doesn't work again.

Dec 11, 2011I know how to change the playback speed of a video clip in my project, but is there a way to have it smoothly transition? For instance, can I have it go from 1x to 3x over a period of 2 seconds or must I jump directly from 1x to 3x (or manually break the files into dozens of super small chunks and manually increase each one... which will still not look smooth)?

Nov 12, 2011I am in the process of giving Video-studio another chance, in that I am testing VSX4 TBYB, Let me say - its a close tossup between Cyberlinks latest Power Producer and its amazing speed and quality output albeit a little more fiddly, and well to be honest if it were not for Video-Studio's past history being so fresh in my mind the decision would have been easy..
Anyway - So far my clips captured with my new Canon Legria HF-G10 don't show any evidence of that Old AVCHD editing blip or mismatched frames around a transition when working with raw AVCHD Files,
So is it safe to assume that the problem is now redundant for good!????? Or have I just been lucky so far - or is that unlucky? in that the TBYB is coded differently to the Ultimate version which I may or may not end up getting..
My other concern was and still is the fact that some of my old raw MP4 video clips can not be directly imported into VSX4 TBYB as they could when I tried VSX3 TBYB version before I ended up deferring, so I am wondering whether this only applies to the VSX4 TBYB seeing VSX3 TBYB had no problems? or is that another major issue that Corel just cant get right, what with only the occasional version capable of working with all multimedia files out there..
Which reminds me is anybody else noticing a significant contrast and detail loss even after smart rendering with VSX4? or is this only because I am using a TBYB version and thus full 25 Mbit Rendering is available in the Ultimate version?
