VideoStudio :: Analog Capture Device That Works In X4 Or X5?
Mar 26, 2012
Any good analog capture device that works well in X4 or X5 I get all the usual problems, Fail to build capture graph, No Audio device shown in the list and so on. I have had every version of Video Studio since version 10 and it’s the only one that will work with these capture devices I am using 3 devices, K World USB 2800, Roxio video capture device USB, and Pinnacle 710 USB They all work great in Video Studio 10 and won’t work in any version higher than that I was hoping X5 might be the ticket but no luck. So I have a version of 10 just for analog capture All X Versions work fine with my HD cameras via firewire or mini DV from other camcorders But will not work at all with USB capture devices ?
I'm trying to capture some VHS tapes to PC. I'm using my Sony camcorder DCR-TRV60E as analog-digital converter. This doesn't seem to work, although it's stated in the manual & all over internet that it should work. I'm not sure, but I think my A/V in is broken. I'm able to hear the audio from the connected analog device, but no video. Also the LCD screen on my camcorder is completly blue (as if it's getting no input). This is what I already tried:
1) VHS player > Camcorder A/V in + reviewed all camcorder settings (A/V -> DV out = on; ...) 2) portable DVD-player > camcorder (DVD has a 1-plug A/V out > 1 plug A/V in camcorder)
I'm thinking that my A/V input on the camcorder is broke. Any way to get confirmation? Or am I (still) missing a setting in the camcorder?
In capture mode, choosing "capture video"I get error message "failed to initialize the video capture plug-in another program may be using it or this file has been moved" " open driver failed" 152.00.43.0 15023.4.2 my video capture device is a USB WDM 2860 and shows in the "source" window but no "format" can be chosen and no video comes through. The operating system is windows 7 64 bit. I have "Magix movie edit pro 17" and "Cyberlink Video Director" and both of these programs work with the same device and capture. Neither one of these applications are running while using Video Studio. I checked and nothing else is utilizing this USB WDM 2860 device. I reinstalled the software, installed the patches, and uninstalled the USB drivers and reinstalled them.
I tried to use the trial version of VS 11plus with a Honestech Vidbox NW03 video capture device. I wanted to use VS11plus because I was unhappy with the video quality of Honestech VHS to DVD software. The VS wouldn't allow me to use the Vidbox even after uninstalling the Honestech software. I also tried using VS after uninstalling the Vidbox software. The only device that ever worked with VS for me was a Easy cap. Is Easycap the only device that works with VS or did I do something wrong? I have Vista Home Basic, 2.16GHZ, 3GB Ram and 250GB Hard drive on my laptop.
I first used the above on a trial basis and had no problems. Then I bought it and I cannot capture my video. I get the no video capture device installed. I have tried 2 different cameras, computers, video capture drivers, firewires and I uninstalled and reinstalled Studio 12 in addition to installed a trial Pro3. I also uninstalled other devices like Flip Software as was suggested by a Corel support person. I am using Windows XP.
I use VS Pro 2X and I still use an old Sony handycamDCR-TR310 8mm NTSC digital camcorder for all my stuff. I'm not buying anything new in the near future.
Here is my problem:
When I burn to DVD after capturing video the quality of the video on a 1080p television is bad. MY Blue-Ray player upsizes DVD resolution but it looks like a low resolution WMV file.
I understand that this is not an HD video being played on an HD TV so the quality will not be steller. The reason for posting this question is that I have played a DVD, from the same setup, I made a year ago with a DVD I just made and the older DVD is much better resolution. This only affects video not titles or images or anything else.
Here is what I have changed since last year:
- I use the proxy feature in VS for editing video
- I burn DVD to 16:9 now instead of 4:3 but I have changed back and no fix at all
Assuming the camera is still good and the quality of the DVD burner and media are the same could there be something in VS Pro X2 that is changing my resoultion or quality from capturing, editing to burning? Maybe I changed something and did not know it. Where should I look?
I have Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 as well as the trial version of X4 which I have just downloaded. I am having the same problem with both versions. When I go into Capture, there is no image coming through the Capture Window, it is just black. When I hit Capture Video, it does start capturing and it does record video correctly, however when I stop capturing, the preview window turns black again.
How can I get the video to be seen in the Capture preview window?
My computer is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit edition. I am using a USB capture device, the Diamond Multimedia VC500 One Touch VHS Video Capture USB 2.0.
when i want to record the monitor screen and press the record buttton of video studio pro x6, i get the message: "there is an error with the audio device" (my version is german, so it says something else, but this is what it means)
i clicked on the I of I/O on "internal audio signal"
i already read somewhere else, to go to control panel->sound-> recording tab->enable/activate stereomix, but no change...
I have X4 Pro, X5 and X6 Ultimate installed on my computer; as well as, a few older versions of ULead software. I keeping getting this message: "device error. Cannot open the wave-in device" every time I try to use the microphone option in X6 to try and narrate my video.
The microphone option works fine in X5...
The trouble is I am using the track motion option from X6 in my video, so I cannot open the video in X5. Is it some sort of driver problem, or is there a corrupt file that needs replacing etc...
My version is VideoStudio X6. Since the update to Windows 8.1 I have been having this error message every time I tried to record the screen. The message shows "An error occurred on your audio device." and it can't record. The drives're up-to-date, I've checked on the devices they all work fine. I need to record system sounds, however I tried to switch to another device but the error kept appearing. I also wondered if there's an error why would the app not showing the detail of the error but just describe it as "an error" because it's so vague it can be anything.
I'm trying to record from the pinacle 700-usb device in Corel VideoStudio, however it gives me an error saying: "Kan vastleggrafiek niet starten" (it's dutch). Meaning something like "Cannot start the recordinggraph" (or something like that). The error is shown below.
I can record and playback from my webcam. That works perfectly, so it is installed correctly i suppose?what causes this and how can i make VideoStudio record from my pinacle device?
Trying to convert video footage on VHS video to AVI files which I can burn to DVD disc. I bought EasyCap and installed it along with Ulead Video Studio. The program seems to be running OK, the device appears to have been installed OK. I connected the VHS recorder to the Easy Cap device with the Scart to RCS lead supplied with it. When I go to capture video, nothing happens, apart from the clock starting. The screen remains blank and no video is recorded.
I want to use an external audio recording device to record the sound. I want to disable the audio track from the camera and sync the audio track from my external device with the video from the camera. All of this in editing.
I am trying to understand how volume editing works. When I edit the volume, if I the volume slider control in attributes, it move the blue volume line up and down. If I edit in the timeline, if moves the brown line up and down. What is the difference in the blue and brown lines? When I play my projects, sometimes the blue lines seems to be setting the audio level and sometimes the brown line seems to be setting it.
I am an experienced user of X4 who needs to upgrade due to needing screen capture features. X5 download trial Install went fine, X5 works well on everything so far except the feature I need. I have disabled UAC, Run all programs as an admin. My system, while old, is capable enough. I use Win 7 64.
When using screen capture it will not capture system audio. I tested the mic and audio while in screen capture "settings" and while the mic works and records, X5 throws a "system audio not found" prompt when clicking on the system audio check. Again, microphone works fine.
Outside of X5, I checked and tested sys audio and it is working. In fact I tried a screen capture with Fraps and it records game audio and voice fine. In fact, while using the screen capture setting I can hear both the mic and voice perfectly.
I have Ulead Videostudio 9. I am trying to capture from a DVD and following the manual instructions all goes OK up to the Import step. At that stage I get an error message "Temporary working forder does not exist. Report ID 0x8004083d(2109)" First time I have tried to capture stuff from a DVD. Program still works fine on all other aspects. I have checked the closed Ulead Forum and FAQ's but can find no solution. Is there anything I can do?
I just purchased Video Studio Pro X3 and I love it . In my opinion it is possible to capture video from the video camera. I have a JVC HD camera
This the camera I purchased.
[URL]......
I would like to hook my camera up to my computer
[URL]........
How do I do this. Now of course my camera records off an SD card and I can just stick it in there and edit. The reason I am hoping I can capture video just like I can with a webcam is because the view screen on my camera no longer functions so therefore I can only point in my general direction and center up the shot in post edit.
For convenience, I use my video camera for both video and taking still pictures. For video I use use a wide frame 16:9 while capturing stills I use a standard frame 4:3 (the standard frame allows a higher megapixel). I use VS X2 for creating my home DVD's and I use Photostory 3 for my slide shows.
I've never used the still capture function on VS until today. I needed a couple of stills from the video to match with the continuity of my slide show.
I realised that my screen capture would be wide screen but I figured I could edit the photo and crop it to 4:3. What actually happens is that VS X2 captures the image and squeezes it to 4:3 so in the end I get these long images!
I am using VS X6 ultimate that I purchased yesterday
I am capturing videos from VHS tape using an S-Video connection
I have tried different capture options settings and the capture always saves in MPEG
I believe that AVI has the least loss and would prefer to save in the AVI format since I intend to do some editing of the original content The end objective will be to burn reults to DVD
Can VS X6 capture files in AVI? If so, what settimgs should I use? Any settings that would be best for this type of transfer to HDD?
My capture card is a BlackGold BGT 3620 (which doesn't come with capture software). I had been using VideoStudio Pro X3 to capture VCRs through its analogue input (using S-Video) with no problems. However, I recently re-installed Windows (nothing different, it had just stopped working), and decided to give the trial version of VideoStudio Pro X4 a shot. When I go into the capture panel and click on "Capture Video", the "Source" field is blank, and the program completely hangs, so I have to kill it.
Of course, I can go back to X3, but sooner or later, it will no longer be supported, or there'll be some other reason I'm forced to upgrade, so I'd rather get this working.I tried running it as admin (although X3 used to work fine without it).
here's my set-up:
Mobo: ASUS M4A79T Deluxe RAM: 8 GiB DDR3 GPU: Palit NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (driver V. 275.33) HDD: 3 x 160 GB 7200 RPM SATA II OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64. All service packs, updates, etc., installed. Capture Device: BlackGold BGT 3620 (driver V. 8.1.0.0) Capture Media: UK PAL VCR, from standard VCR player, through S-Video
Is it possible to capture from a file using VS Pro X2? I'm trying to get an AVI file into my timeline. Can I capture the file or do I Import it to video clips and then drag it into the timeline.
When I connect my camera and select Capture Video, I receive the error:
Unable to switch to capture mode Check if your video capture driver is working properly 15023:4:2
I select OK and it properly identifies my camera in source as Canon HV30
Using the VS Pro X3 software, I can play, ffwd, pause, etc the camera however, it will not Capture the video at all
This is on my dads pc. he is running:
- Video Studio Pro x3 Pro which has had all patches applied. - PC is an intel i5 2500 on a Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard. - 64 bit Windows 7 Home premium all patches applies - Canon HV30 connected via firewire
Note, I have used this camera with VS Pro x3 on another pc with no issue.,
not sure if i have got a setting applied incorrectly in vs pro x3 or not.
So what is a good reliable capture device that works with X3 and won't mess up on me? I've looked at ezcap, the real one, and I'm still not sure. BTW it has to be USB as I use my laptop.
I have ION video 2 pc mkll. When I try to capture i cant get a preview. Have tried to change settings with no luck. The drivers for it 10 but no preview show up.
I have a new issue with screen capture in VS pro x6. When I try to capture the sound from my computer i.e. a clip on (you tube) when I hit the record button (the red circle) I get this message:
it counts 3-2-1 then…at 1 (Prepare Record Failed!!! #15)
However it works fine if I disable it… when I record my voice when it is screen recording, no problem.
Also, when I try to record a game play, full screen, it stops once I launch the game, a message says that my screen capture is complete without me hitting the stop capture button!!
My computer is running win 7 Prem. Service pack 1 64 bit 12 GB RAM Intel core i7 @ 3.40 GHz
