View 14 RepliesI just bought X4 and can't import High Def. MOV files. VS doesn't even see them! how do I import them?
View 14 RepliesI've searched these forums for any "how to's" and found some info, but either it was over my head as to the fix or it delt with different video file formats or error messages.
The short version:
I have a fresh install of X4 on a 64 bit Windows 7 (Pro) and I'm trying to import *.MTS video files into the timeline but keep getting "File format Mismatch 1081:1:3" errors. I've copied the files from the SD card to the harddrive. I've also tried renaming the file(s) extensions from MTS to M2TS, AVI, MPG, and still get the error.
The long winded version:
I had X4 on a 32 bit PC for a long time. Installed Panasonics AE reader software that came with the HDC-SDT750 camcorder. X4 could recognize the MTS files and import them into the timeline. The PC motherboard failed so I got new motherboard and decided to do a fresh install of the 64 bit version of Win 7 Pro on a clean harddrive. Did a fresh install of X4. Then installed all Windows and X4 updates and patches.
When I try to insert a MTS video clip (file) into the timeline from either the SD card or harddrive I get the error message "File format Mismatch 1081:1:3". I can play the video files through windows media player (No matter what I've changed the file extesion to) and the video and sound play fine. I can also insert any other video file into a timeline except MTS files (New or older ones). With X4 up and running and searching for which video file to insert I can see the MTS video preview thumbnail in the file explorer window.
The video clips are 1920X1080 at 29 fms and a bit rate of 16794kbps
I can't find the Panasonic software disk and the best that I can tell Panasonic does not have their software online for download.
I will need some hand holding here so I'll need more step by step instructions than "Get the latest codecs" (Whatever that means)
System info:
Editor: X4 (With update)
DirectX: 11
CPU: Intel i7, 2600K
RAM: 8 gig
HD: 1 Tb
OS: Win 7 Pro
Camera: Panasonic HDC-SDT750
I know how to import video files to th VS program. I would like to know if we are limeted to the default audio files that come with the software? Or is there is any way to import my own audio files from my hard drive to VS? If so, how is this done correctly?
View 5 Replies View RelatedBought full version of VS Pro x4. But, it will not import saved library files (photos, video and audio categorized) from Pro X2. I get window saying, "Files cannot be imported, maybe number of files is not correct or files are invalidated." Is there any way of getting my saved library files from Pro X2 into the new X4 library? Also got 3 FX volumes of New Blue "Video Essentials" in Pro X2. Is there a trick to importing them into X4? What to do?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI can't import my Flip HD mp4 files to VideoSudio Pro X3. I've tried downloading the latest version of Quicktime, changing the file extensions to .mov, and getting the latest updates from Corel. I'm using windows 7.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if the problem I'm having is due to an error in my software, or the age of my computer.
I have an older HP, it's a Pentium D, which how has 4Gb RAM and is running a Win 7, 32 bit system (non hyper threaded). My main drive is only 500Gb, but the 2nd drive is 1.5Tb. I purchased X2 about 18mos ago, had problems with it not loading any videos, then later got into serious HDD issues (later resulting in me replacing the HDD) and never got back around to video editing. So, tried again tonight and am having problems importing video.
I use a Panasonic P&S camera to shoot HD video. I can easily import it via the card reader, and the files come over as Quick Time movies. When I open VS X2, and then under Capture, click on "Import from Folder," I am unable to actually open any folders at the deepest level. I can navigate from the E: drive down a few layers, but never am able to open the folders themselves. I tried dragging a movie file (which I can easily view on my PC using Quick Time) to the top level of E:, and still, it does not show up in the file tree when in Import.
I just installed X2 tonight, and then went and got both the update patches from the Corel site. The HDD is about 6mos old and relatively empty (C: is where programs reside, E: is where photos/video are stored). Install went smoothly.
The other issue I seem to be having is that Corel stops working. That what it says "Program has stopped working."
I don't know if this is a glitch in the program, or if my PC is too old?? It handles Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Lightroom running concurrently, editing large RAW files just fine. Hubby's been out of full time work for 16mos, so upgrades in both software and hardware have been on hold.
Can I import XMF files into Video Pro X5 without first converting them? I cannot find the answer to this on the sales information. Also is there any way to import those XMF files into my current version (Video Pro X2).
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded the trial version of VSP X5. And now, I have a new 12 MP camera as opposed to the 5 MP I had before. Anyway this new camera shoots in video mode at 1920, 1280 and 640. When I use 1920 or 1280 (HD), the file size of the videos are huge, so when I import them to VSP, they take a very long time to import. Is this normal when you want high res videos or is there something I can do to cut down on the file size. To test it out, I shot 20 second videos at all three resolutions. In 1920, the file size was almost a whole gig at only 20 seconds. It would be much larger than that for lets say a 20 minute movie. I'm guessing that would take all day to import.
Correction: Actually, It's taking long to "Create a Video File", not to import the video. Anyway, is it normal for the program to take so long to create a file? if it's a 15 or 20 minute video, it will probaly take at least a couple of hours to create at that resolution.
I'm in the process of evaluating several video editing programs. So far I've used AVS Video Editor, Cyberlink Power Director and Adobe Premiere. With each program I've spent 30 minutes making a quick demo video to see how intuitive it is and how well it performs. Today I downloaded Corel Visual Studio and decided to give it a go.
I've run into a problem straight away.I've tried to import raw avi files. So I'm using the "Select Import Source Folders" screen. When I navigate to the folder containing the files the OK button is greyed out and won't work. It's greyed out all of the time.
I am an archaeologist working with survey equipment and Map3D for a few years but now I have the following problem.
When I import the shapefiles created in my leica/topcon equipment into Map3D (mapimport) there is the possibility to select which attributes are going to be imported with an import profile file (.ipf).
How do I create the above and save it so that I do not have to go through the same process again?
I am currently using a Nikon D7100 and recording my photos in the Raw/NEF-RAW format. Recently, whenever I am uploading my photos to Lightroom 5, my photos are changing to .dng files rather than staying in the NEF file. When I go and look back at my previous imports from the past few times, they are in NEF and NOT in .dng. Why is this doing this and how do I turn this feature off so that my files remain the same going from my camera to my computer through importation.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to a 5D and LR4.. when I import the files load as CR2 files, not DNG files. When the files import it takes 4 files to find them. It also will not recognize the file names in the library. How do I fix this to import like it did in LR 3??

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have copied a recorded TV programme from a PVR hard disc onto a DVD and then copied the DVD onto the hard disk of my computer. When I try to use my trial version of VS XV to import the "digital media", it first shows what I might call empty thumbnails. Then I get a message saying "The file formats of some selected files are not supported". Clicking on OK then produces a message saying "There is no valid clip". I should add that hovering over the empty thumbnails describes the format as DVD+VR. Just incidentally, I have been able to import the clips into PowerDirector.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWorkflow-Capture step-Import source folders-in digital media box-start.Then screen goes black and PC restarts without VS running. This has on both occasions I have tried.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was not able to import a DVD that I burnt before (VIDEO_TS) into VS X4 to re-edit it. I tried "Capture" ---> "Import from Digital Media" and the screen with the "Source Folder" selection appeared. Clicking the folder (either that of a DVD drive or hard drive" and "Start" resulted in a screen with blank windows for the different Chapters. So, nothing could be imported.
I then tried to Import the same DVD into my old VS X2 and had no problems whatsoever (I had done this many times with VS X2 without a single problem). The edited DVD was then saved as a VS X2 .vsp file. Obviously, VS X4 could not open this VS X2 .vsp file (it said "file mismatch").I checked the manual and could not find why I could not import the DVD into VS X4.In short the questions that I have:
1. What needs to be done to be able to import a DVD (non-copyrighted - self burnt DVD) into VS X4 ?
2. Is there a way to make VS X2 .VSP files be read or opened by VS X4?
3. Would this be feasable: create the VS X2 .VSP to a .MPG video file first. Than include this .MPG file with the other .MPG from VS X4 during the "create disk" stage?
I am unable to import a DVD into VSX5.
DVD Properties only show as 195 MB udf file system / It is not copyright protected .It plays OK in Power DVD and Windows Media Player and lasts about 5 minutes .It is a free promotional DVD.
To try and import it into VSX5 I go import file -insert media to library -insert digital media -select drive, -start- when I select or get near the small boxes in the top right of title I or chapter1 boxes with the cursor - the screen goes black and the PC reboots loosing any unsaved data..
If I try to do a screen capture of a paused DVD screen either via print screen-paste as new image, or the dedicated screen capture feature in Paint Shop Pro X- the captured screen area only shows black....
I in tend to buy a SONY HDR-CX150. The literature says that for SONY Picture Manager software which is provided Win 7 Premium 64 bit is not supported ! (I know that sounds unbelievable in that most new machine come with that64 bit version).
Does VS Pro X3 will import from that camcorder ?
I have been trying to add an MP4 video to edit in VSP. Every time I select the file, it would tell me that "The file had no video data" when it does.
I tried to install the Service Patch which is said to include imports of MP4 files, but it won't install. It tells me " The installed version of the application could not be determined"
I'm using the currently the VS X4 trial version for evaluation purpose. So first I want to modify a BluRay-Disc in 3 Steps:
- import material from disc
- cut some scenes
- re-create disc (or finally burn it)
Unfortunateley I'm unable to finish task one: I didn't found out, how to import the BluRay-Disc: I tried with 'import Digital-Media' but whatever I choose in selection dialog (drive where the disc is located, a dubdirectory from the disc, etc.), VS always respond 'No valid content found'.
How can I accomplish to import the movie materials from the BluRayDisc?
I have been using VS11+ for a few years, and have never run across this problem until now. I am trying to import DVDs recorded on a specific machine and am getting video but no audio. There is audio on the DVDs. I have tried importing both as mpg and as avi (in project properties) but neither works. Although I've been using VS, I am self-taught and not very knowledgeable about codecs, recoding, etc. I mainly use VS for importing video from DVDs, editing, rendering and burning onto DVDs. I am not certain of the make/model of the DVD recorder, but I do know it is new. (I did a keyword search for "import DVD no audio" before posting, but it returned over 2,000 results).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've done this hundreds of times, but now the "Import from DVD/DVD-VR" is greyed out. It's funny that the DVD I'm trying to import was created by VS about 6 months ago. I did need to wipe the hard drive and reload the software about a month ago. In the "Capture" pull down the "Capture Video" and "DV Quick Scan" are not greyed out but the "Import from DVD/DVD-VR" is greyed out.
This is VideoStudio6 upgraded to VideoStudio 9, so the software is not new.
I am using VideoStudio 3x. I've imported a DVD that contains subtitles -
-when I view the resulting Mpeg file within the program, the subtitles are displayed
-when I view the mpeg through another viewer (ie Windows media player) - the subtitles are NOT visible
-If I burn the mpeg to a DVD - again - the subtitles are neither visible nor available
how do I either - extract the subtitles into an srt file - or make them visible in the other viewers?
- odd thing - when I view the original DVD I can turn the subtitles on or off - but when I try to extract them directly from the source - I get an empty file (go figure)
i just bought V. studio pro X4, before i had Pro X2.
I built a big library with all my films in my x2 version, i took lot's of hour to build it so, I would like to import this library in my X4 pro.
i tried import/export library function but it didn't work.
X4 prompt me a message " missing or corrupt file" when i tried to import my X2 library.
I've imported a wmw clip into the timeline which plays but doesn't display in the screen.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am creating a video from footage shot on a JVC Everio in PAL HD .tod format. In order to get VS X3 to import these, I installed all the relevant codecs and I have since created seven separate VSP projects for each section of the video. I am currently trying to combine these all together to make the full video, but am encountering some difficulties.
I couldn't copy and paste between projects, it seems, meaning that I either have to recreate each one in the same file (taking ages) or export them again at HD quality then put these videos on the timeline.
Unfortunately, I have tried exporting at HDV 1080i-50i, MPEG2 Transport Stream, "Same as first video clip" amongst others, but every time it reaches the end of rendering, I get the error "File Format mismatch".
I had to reformat my HD and have to go though the process of importing videos to X3. I recall some 'steps' involved, but am at a loss. Was there another program I am to use to import into X3?
