VideoStudio :: Pixelated Images On Timeline And When Rendered

Sep 16, 2010

I am having trouble with the clarity of some photos being used in a project. The project has a mixture of both photos and video. The photos are inserted into the overlay tracks in the time line and some have a mask applied to them.

Some photos both with and without mask's appear pixelated both on the time line and when rendered. The file format for the photos are Jpeg and range from 1.85MB to 60MB in size and have no pixelation. In preferences i have in the image section both "anti-flickering" and "Cache image" checked. I have also tried the photos in the first time line and still are not clear.

VideoStudio :: Pro X5 - JPEG Images Pixelated In Playback And DVD

Nov 30, 2012

I'm trying to accomplish the most basic task in VideoStudio Pro x5--making a slideshow with still images and burning that project to DVD. Prior to starting, I decided to do a "screen test". I scanned 3 photographs of varying quality. 2 are professional studio photos that are 3.5" x 5" and one is a candid shot that's a bit grainy at 3.5"x4.5". I scanned all of them with my Epson Perfection V300 to JPEG at 300, 600 and 1200dpi each. I then took the 3 versions of the three images and placed them in the timeline as still photos and then again with a pan/zoom. I noticed a slight difference between the actual photos and the photos when played in the timeline. However, once burned to DVD and watched on my Sony 40" BX42 LCD, the images are pixelated much worse than appears in the timeline. However, the same photographs are much more acceptable once a pan/zoom is placed on them.

For example, one picture I used is 300 dpi (900x1356,1356 height, 24 bitdepth, .99mb).
Resampling Option: Keep Aspect Ratio
Project settingS are Burn to DVD
24 bits 720x480, 29.97fps
upper field first
dvd-ntsc, 16:9
variable video data rate
encoding mode base line

The above example looks pixelated on DVD, but not as pixelated when pan/zoom is added. The 600dpi (1787x2712, 3.78mb) version of the same photo is not as pixelated as the example, but not as clear as the timeline view or the actual image.

I did the exact same screen test in Pinnacle Studio 11 and received better overall results. I can do a basic slideshow? My images are being scanned with a decent quality scanner and look far superior than what I'm seeing once the images have gone through VideStudio. I'm not looking for exteme detail or expecting HD from a DVD, I just find the amount of pixelation unacceptable.

Premiere Pro :: IPhone 5S 120fps Video In Timeline - Rendered Vs Unrendered

Apr 5, 2014

I'm a complete amateur and did some stupid things.  Like shoot everything on my iPhone at 120fp.

Everything imported fine and played great in the the Source and Program monitors, and I could drag any of the clips into the Timeline and they would all play fine, all at normal speed (30fps).

When I fully render them, however, they play in the Timeline at 120fps, and the audio stays the same.  In the montors they still play at 30, though.  When they're just rendered for playback ("yellow"), it's fine.  I would leave them unrendered, excpet sometimes they get rendered automatically, and I can never get back to regular playback speed for those clips.

But even better, when I export, all is well, and is at 30fps.

So, is there some way to make them play at 30fps, even when fully rendered, in the Timeline?  Or even if there's just a way to convert them.  (I'm likening the framerate thing to audio sampling rate.  And made similar mistakes back in the day!)  I looked at the "Interpret" option, but must not have fully understood it, since the results were disastrous.

Anyhow, that's about it.  I'm not sure if it's germaine, but I did also bring in some 30fps stock footage.  Just did a straight import.  Same thing happened.

In Pro Tools, you can change the sampling rate of a "Session", is there a similar setting that I'm missing?

VideoStudio :: Getting Multiple WMV Files Rendered?

Brand spankin' new user to X4. I'm working on a fairly simple slideshow that starts with a 15 second MOV file, followed by 10 pictures at 3 second intervals along with some background music. The issue I'm having is that when I go to generate a WMV file (or any format), X4 renders multiple times and spits out multiple files.

I'm sure there's a setting somewhere that I haven't set properly...

VideoStudio :: X5 Rendered Footage Is Now Suddenly Jerky?

Jun 7, 2013

basically my 24fps footage isn't rendering smoothly ON X5 Ultimate.

[URL]

What i've done is put the same clip together twice, as strangely the first clip is smooth, then subsequent clips are all jerky. This has been going on for some time, so switched to 25fps. 25fps from my Canon 5D MKII wasn't as good as 24fps, so switched back and decided to try and sort this out.

I have been through multiple settings, deleted all older versions of Corel, removed then re-installed X5, made sure all patches and updates were installed - made no difference.

VideoStudio :: Rendered Files - Odd Aspect Ratio Changes

Nov 15, 2012

Using X5, I've been assembling video clips taken on holidays into small, specific topic mini-movies (say about 2-3 mins long each) for friends and family, and I've noticed an odd effect of rendering using the MPEG optimiser option when creating a video file from a set of project parts.

All the source clips have a 16.9 aspect ratio. The project file has full, trimmed, and cut clips, plus text, voice over and music.

Put together in a project file, the various clips fill the small or large display windows, as one would expect. Trimmed and cut clips made not difference to the display when playing. But the rendered result of that project file shows irregular "jumping" of the image aspect ratio: sometimes, it's the full display window, at other times it looks like the image is full width but there are black bars top and bottom, and still other times the reverse - bars on the side with a full vertical image.

Those latter characteristics are symptomatic of a 4:3 image converted to 16:9, and I promptly checked to make sure the sources were all 16:9, and they were. The jumping seems to happen within rendered clips and when a clip transitions from one to the next, but not every time. When it happens within a clip, the display 'flickers" as the aspect ratio changes and its that flicker that originally drew my attention to what seemed to be happening.

VideoStudio :: Rendered Video Repeats Frames?

Jun 28, 2011

I'm using Ulead VS 11. When I make a clip and render it as new video, the new video is repeating frames all over the place. As it renders I can see it happening. It's like the video renders minute/second 1:01, then jumps back to 1:00, then re-renders 1:01. All over the place. These repeat frames are not in the original video.

The format of the original video is MPEG2, 8000 bps, and is being converted to WMV (don't ask!). I have found that the only way to retain any semblance of quality in the new video is to change it to WMV, and for my purposes, this is adequate. I have tried about 10 of the different output formats offered in the "Create Video" option, including saving with settings the same as project settings, and the result is the same, with the exception that the WMV 720 is the only one where a decent quality is maintained. That's a whole other question -- why rendering with "same as project settings" gives me total junk.

Is there some other setting that could be causing these frame repeats? I don't believe I had these problems when the original video was WMV rendering to WMV. But MPEG2 to MPEG2 is not fixing it either, so there must be something else.

VideoStudio :: Heartbeat Clicking In Rendered Video?

May 20, 2011

I have noticed this in a couple of videos I've done now, I put together some aerial footage I have done, and after I render it there is a low click-thump sound, almost like a slow heart beat. This is not in an added audio track, and it does not do this in the preview.

I am uploading a clip to youtube as I write this, (will update when done) where I left the native audio in place the whole time (rather than add a music track) so it can be heard.

The raw files are MP4 files from a GoPro HD Hero camera.

ps. in this video, you can hear the sound I am talking about, but only until I fade it out and start the music track

VideoStudio :: Rendered Video Is Sharper During Transition

May 5, 2012

Is it normal for video to be sharper during the CIRCLE transition and then return to the 'normal' sharpness at completion of the transition.

I have just rendered a project which contains quite a few transitions including Crossfade, Side, Spin, Face and Circle. Every time I have used the Circle transition the image 'inside' the 'circle' appears sharper until the 'circle' fills the screen (i.e. the end of the transition) when the image appears 'normal'.

I think that there is something wrong with CIRCLE transition as I have also noticed that it does not display correctly (preview window goes black) when you 'drag' the scrubber along the timeline.

VideoStudio :: Rendered Movie Stutters / Is Not Smooth

Jul 19, 2012

I bought the new Olympus TG-1 camera, and want to edit movies that I shoot so I downloaded trial of latest Video Studio Pro X5 to try it out. But I'm not satisfied with the quality of the rendered file. The result is not smooth. For example, I shot a short movie clip out of the window of a slow moving train. When I play the original file everything is nice and smooth, but when I import the file to Video Studio and render it (without doing anything to it, no effects or anything) the result is a stuttering movie - kind of like some frames are missing, or maybe duplicated... (Sound is just as it should, no problem there.)

Source file is .MOV (quick time) 24bits 1920x1080, 29.970 frames/sec according to file properties in Video Studio. Using GSpot i get the following: codec avc1, name H.264, 19641 kbps, 29.971 frames/sec

I've tried every format under "create video file" in Video Studio but the result is the same every time no matter what I do, although the option "Same as first video clip" is not available (it's dimmed when using clip shot with this camera). My system is PAL and I know that 29.97 fps is not PAL standard, but I also tried rendering custom format where the result was a 720x576 clip with 29.971fps (but kpbs is only 1024) but still the same stuttering movie.

VideoStudio :: Full HD Rendered File - Reediting

Oct 26, 2011

I want to re-edit -remove some parts, adding a title- a fullhd VSX3 rendered file which looks and plays perfect. I never have problems with VSX2/3 even when re-editing. This time, it first takes seconds before it opens in the preview window when I click the library tumbnail. It freezes (with created or without smart proxi) for several seconds when I try to cut, or whatever on the timeline.

It only gets somewhat better when de-selecting "audio while scrubbing", but remains still much more "freezy" than all my other (rendered) files. It's a ~2.5 Gb AVCHD file rendered at 18Mb/s VBR in VS. The only thing what is different is that it contains (pre-converted to AVXHD) SD parts from a JVC camcorder (.mod), but it all plays back flawlesly in several HW and SW players.

VideoStudio :: Audio Distortion In Rendered Video

Oct 3, 2012

I’m using VS Fx4 and I am having a problem I have not experienced before. The audio in my Music Track has an annoying “pop” occurring. The pop does not occur when viewing the project (.VSP), only after it has been shared/rendered.

At first I thought that perhaps the poor quality was due to running other processes while the video rendered or something to do with the video format being used, however rendering the videos after hours and switching video formats (.wmv & .mpeg4) have not worked. You can view one of the videos I’m having an issue with here: [URL] ... The audio pop is noticeable in the first few seconds of the video.

I have two video files that are currently having this problem, both have Music Tracks.

AutoCAD .NET :: Different Rendered Images For Opened And Unopened DWG Files

Sep 11, 2012

The following code will explain how it works:

 [CommandMethod("RenderFromFile")]public static void RenderFromFile(){string dwgPath = @"C:TempRender.dwg";string imagePath = @"C:TempRender.png";Document doc = Application.DocumentManager.Open(dwgPath);RenderToFile(doc, imagePath);}

[Code]....

The command RenderFromFile will render the 3D drawing file at C:TempRender.dwg (see this file from attachment), and then write the output image to Render.png at the same folder. The rendered image is on the top view and has visual materials.

The command RenderCurrentView will render the current open 3D drawing, then write the output image to C:TempRender.png. The rendered image is on 3D view and does not have visual materials.

Both two commands call the same shared method RenderToFile(), but their output images are different. I don't know why they are different?

Method RenderToFile is a simplified version from Kean's code. I try to make the code short and simple to easily solve the problem.

Photoshop :: Pixelated Images

Jul 22, 2008

I recently encountered a problem that I am sure could be corrected if I were more experienced.

I am building a website using Dreamweaver. I adjust my photos for size In Photoshop Cs3 of course. I then save them for the web on a transparent background as a gif. When I view my image in Dreamweaver the edge of the image appear pixelated (sort of a white aoutline)
I would like to feather some of my images but when I save them and then include them in my webpage the feathered edge is visible as a white outline shadow. The images are fine otherwise.

This also happens if I add a layer style to text such as bevel. The bevel area appears as a large white outline.

I am sure there is a setting I am not aware of. Should I have a specific setting when I save the images for the web?

VideoStudio :: Rendered Video Displays Jerky Frames?

Aug 24, 2011

I have a number of video files captured at 1080X720 full frame resolution at 29.97 frames/second, shown on my PC as .MOV files.

When watching the original files either on my PC or TV, movement is fluid and smooth.

When watching a finished video created via VideoStudio Pro X4 using the aforementioned files, movement is jerky, and is particularly noticeable when watching a panned scene. The effect is so bad that it makes viewing on a large screen impossible as the picture movement jerks/judders about. I have looked at the project preferences, and notice under Project Option>General tab, the only available frame sizes are the standard ones which only go up to 720X576. The radio button to select a user defined frame size is greyed out and cannot be selected to input my own frame sizes. I’m therefore unable to actually input the frame size of the source video files.

Basically how do I render a finished video without jerky movement?

Lately, I commenced a short film using one of Corel's own titles against the black background and again, as one word entered the screen, a double click, then as the second another click or two!

VideoStudio :: Create Movie From Projects Or Rendered Video?

May 29, 2011

I have always rendered my projects to DVD (mpeg) video files and then used those to 'create disk' (ie create movie).

I also thought that to prevent 'create' disk' from rendering again that all the attributes (constant or variable, kbs, audio compression) used during rendering must be the same as when creating disk.

Is there any benefit from creating a movie (for burning) using either method? Is it faster overall 'creating disk' using project files than rendering first? The reason I ask is that today it seemed to take 'forever' to 'create disk' using pre-rendered files.

I realise that you always see the warning that 'this action will take some time to render' but I thought that if all the attributes were the same that no rendering was done.
