I have VSX3 and will upgrade to VSX4 if this will be better for my for this request. I want to be able to do a fade in and Fade out of two videos. Is this possible. Videos were shot on a 5DMk2 as Mov. files 25fps 1920x1080 and are of a Morning shot and a Day shot. Shot on a tripod, same position and lens. Motor driven pan both at same speed, direction and overlapped for a transition of the two to make an approx. 20 sec video.Want to make a HD DVD, Pal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI started with V6. Currently using trial of X4. Got a Canon T2i for Christmas....mostly for HD video. Never have worked with HD video before so not real familiar with file extensions etc. However I do know that HD video is a different animal altogether…..Very large files and some program issues.
Took some test video in 1080p… about 30 seconds. Files are in MOV format. Drop the file in program and hit play on the preview pane. Very choppy and stuttering. Make sure smart proxy is enabled and it is. I then save the file as a 1080p AVCHD. Now…. that file plays just fine in the preview pane. Another thing I tried was converting the MOV file into an AVI with a free program called Pazera Free MOV to AVI. That conversion with an AVI extension also had the choppy issue. Should I convert the files first from MOV to AVCHD or is there another HD format that is better?
After about 3 years or more of using my Canon HV30 I decided to lash out & buy an AVCHD camera, I opted for a JVC HM330 with a 30x optical zoom & 8gb memory. Got it for a good price.
I was eager to try AVCH editing with my new core i5 laptop. Its doable but no as quick as HDV.But my question is about video quality.
The JVC is supposed to record at 24mbps which should put it up there with the Canon I would have thought.
However I fell that the Canon has the better picture, it seems a bit crisper but only just there is not much in it. Why would this be? Is it becuase the Canon is just a better camera even though its getting long in the tooth now?? or is AVCHD still to catch up with HDV?
I have been a user of the old MSP8 editing program for some time, just updated the PC and would like to use the New video studio x5, is this compatible with the Canon XLH 1 A HD camera.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI went from DV, to AVCHD earlier in the year. I had no luck at all getting one smooth render using AVCHD from my Panasonic camcorder. So when I bought my Canon 5D MKII I thought the HD files would be easier/better to work with. I have edited together some files just for tests with and without crossfades, but both have either resulted in shakey/jerky footage, or the program crashing saying 'send the dump file to Ulead for analysis.
Basically I perform smart proxy to shrink the files to make them smoother to edit, then when I try to render to .mov again, the footage is jerky, but then I can rerender to mpeg2. The problem is that the mpeg2 footage is only about 95% smooth. It will be flowing along then every 5-10 seconds there will be a jump. If I try to render straight to anything else - mpeg2, H.264, MPEG4, it just crashes after 3 seconds giving the same dump file message.
The files the camera produces are
1920x1080 quicktime (.mov)
25fps
48,000KHz, 16 bit, stereo
My hardware is
Sony Vaio laptop
Intel Duo Core 2.2ghz
Windows 7 home premium
64 bit
4GB Ram
Ulead version Pro X3
I have downloaded all the latest patches, and I downloaded the latest Directx (I'm not sure what this is, I just followed the link on the forum for the June 2010 one; is it an automatic thing?)
So I have a decent computer, and fantastic camera, and Ulead's top program - why can't I get a smooth end file??
I've a nwe camera Canon 5D Mark III and I've some problems with these file.
When I edit in Corel Video Studio X6 all videos play in the preview screen bad because It have some short pauses.
The videos do not work in a continuous way.
I bought more RAM and now I've 12gb. Also I work with other HD files, like GoPro Videos, and I dont have problems in the preview. Maybe the container of 5D Mark III videos?
if corel video studio x4 can open the mxk file extension from a canon xf300 Camera
View 5 Replies View RelatedHave just installed Video Studio ProX3 on a new computer running Windows 7. Software much the same as VS 10 which I ran on a computer with XP.
The new system does not want to connect with my Canon MV930 Video camera. - if it does the picture is frozen and the message - 'Inconsistent vidoe from capture source' appears. Or I get the message - 'No video input source' detacted' appearing.
Could the problem be with the Firewire card/drivers taken from the old computer? - am having this checked out to-day.The software downloads vidoes from a DVD produced by me on the old system quite happily.
Is there a profile for Canon lenses 8-15 mm and Canon 800mm ? Where can it be found ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a RAW file from the 40D in PS2 I get an error message - 'could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of file'.
I've been processing 30D files (CR2 format) in PS2 for 2 years without a problem. The 40D RAW file is also CR2 format, the same as my 30D.
I'm not sure if it's a camera setting or a PS2 issue.
I just downloaded the PS 6 upgrade, and it runs fine, but won't decode my Canon 5D3 CR2 raw files. All the pages I access only tell how goood Camera Raw is. Where is the correct page?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a copy of CS4 installed on my computer. I would upgrade for CS6 (which seems to be the only solution at this point) but it's a costly endeavor.

I'm not very knowledge with Photoshop and in depth technology. I want to edit my photos in RAW, but I can't. I tried the DNG converter, and it did not recognize any files at all. I downloaded Camera Raw (the latest version as well as another one) and it said I needed Adobe Manager. I tried that as well but nothing.
A search indicates that Camera Raw 6.3 plugin and later will work, but it is apparently for CS5 only. Is it true that CS4 loses the ability to work with camera raw files of newer cameras? If not, where can I get a camera raw plugin for my new S95 that works with CS4? (The camera does ship with proprietary raw processing software, but I'd prefer the integration of Bridge and Photoshop.)
View 2 Replies View RelatedEven though Camera Raw plug-in lists G1X RAW as supported, PSCS5 will not open the RAWÂ .cr2 files. Camera Raw plugin version 6.6.0.261 Likewise, Adobe DNG Converter says it will, but will not. Likewise Lightroom 3.

I have seen mention of a beta 6.7 that will, but I am a publisher, and don't like having to use beta software! Why is Adobe behind on this? The G1X is being sold (I have one), and should be supported in PS and Lightroom

PSCS5 12.0.4 x64
DNG Converter 6.6.0.261
Lightroom 3 3.6 with Camera Raw 6.6
I've tried installing a CanoScan Lide 200 scanner to be used with Photoshop CS6 but can't seem to make it work. I downloaded the two latest drivers available on Canon's website and installed them but it hasn't worked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Canon 50D and shot my first batch of RAW images - only to find ACR would not open the images. I had no problem with my previous cameras: Canon Rebel Xsi & 20D. I use CS4
Does anyone have an explanation of why this is & how I might fix it.
I shoot with the Canon 20D, 30D, 40D, 1DMII, and the Rebel XTI. The Raw processor is showing an anomaly only with the 40D files. When I load raw images, and when the image is displayed, it is shown at one setting. Then in 3 seconds, its updated again at about 1/2 stop brighter. Each time I click on another image on the left column, same thing. The new image is displayed, then 3 seconds later, updated at about 1/2 stop brighter. THe histogram reflects the changes showing the data moving to the right. This only happens with the 40D raw files.
Whats up?
It happens regardless if "Auto" or "Default" is selected. I use "default" as a norm, never letting PS do an auto correction.
How do I stop Camera Raw from doing the second update? This has to stop.
I have just purchased Photoshop CS3 student edition. However, when I try to open .CR2 files from my Canon 1ds III, a message stating that Photoshop "could not complete my request as it is not the right kind of document" appears. Whilst I can get round this by saving from DPP (which does not allow me to transfer the .CR2 files directly to Photoshop) as TIFF, this is quite slow.

I will be getting a camera stand and I am looking at the Bogen / Manfrotto Mini Salon 190 Camera Stand which seems to be the best solution for my needs.
But my question is what lens?? I have a Sigma 20mm macro but I am concerned about the distortion around the edges (which sigma does great with trying to eliminate). The other camera I have is a canon 28-135 that has limited macro capabilities but I think some Kenko tubes might take care of that.
The lighting has me a bite perplexed as well. With the camera at a 90 degree angle I will have to make sure the light source is between the camera and the paper and not over the camera to eliminate shadows. My studio lights are too big for this and flash is supposedly a big no-no because of creating hot spots.
I read on POTN that Adobe will not be supporting the new 5D Mark II with a new ACR in CS3 and older. Does anyone know if this is true? If it is its a sad state. I spent a wheel barrow full of money on CS3 and I am about to take delivery of a new 5D.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI decided to and have preordered (and prepaid) for a new Canon 5DII
But I was wondering what Adobe's track record has been like in the past for Canon cameras
How long after shipping does it usually take Adobe to get the upgraded ACR out there?
I cannot believe that Adobe has abandoned users of CS3 and new Canon cameras! I just found out that to convert RAW files from the Canon 5d MrkII, we need Camera Raw 5 or later.   Camera Raw 5 or later WILL NOT work with CS3! So if you purchase a Canon 5d MrkII and plan to keep using CS3, it will NOT WORK.  You will need to purchase Lightroom 2 or Photoshop CS4 or some other raw converting software. I guess this is one way to SHOVE UPGRADES down users throats.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI wasn't able to test downloading pictures when I got my 1D Mk III yesterday, so I didn't find out until just a few minutes ago that the CR2 format won't load in my copy of CS2...
I researched the issue and downloaded Camera Raw 3.7 and installed it properly, I even restarted my computer, just in case, but the CR2 files I took earlier this morning still aren't loading.
Does the 1D Mk III write the CR2 files differently? Am I forced to upgrade to CS3 or is there something I'm missing?
I have LR 4 and now I have bought a Canon 70D. Lightroom said it was unable to interpret the RAW files and directed me to get an update. I have updated to 4.4 and still have the same problem. How can I get my RAW files into Lightroom 4?
