Photoshop :: ACR Not Compatible With Canon 50D?
Jul 24, 2009
I just bought a Canon 50D and shot my first batch of RAW images - only to find ACR would not open the images. I had no problem with my previous cameras: Canon Rebel Xsi & 20D. I use CS4
Does anyone have an explanation of why this is & how I might fix it.

I have recently bought a Canon 450D camera and have noticed that the RAW CR2 images produced are not compatible with my Photoshop CS2 version. I'm not sure about upgrading to the latest version of Photoshop since I probably wouldn't use all the features but I would probably upgrade to Elements 7. Is Elements 7 completely compatible with my Canon CR2 files and has anyone else used this combination and been impressed with the results?

I was wondering if CS6 Design and Web Premium Windows download version is compatible with a Mac? I'm currently running Lion, But will be upgrading Mountain Lion shortly.
I was told by customer service that I CAN use it on my mac. But then if that is true, I am unsure of what the point of having a Mac/PC option is?

I use Photoshop frequently to work on photographs that I print for others. Recently I changed the ink I use from the genuine type to the compatible type of ink cartridges. I now purchase ink cartridges from a company called Dealo at [URL].
The problem is that there is a slight difference between the color balance of printed photos between the genuine and the ones from Dealo. Unless you place the two side by side for comparison you probably wouldn't notice but here is my dilemma. Most of the clients I produce photos for are repeat clients, which means they can do side by side comparisons.

I am getting the message "this file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop." Which doesn't make sense because I used this version of Photoshop to create this file.
I am on CS3
Windows XP Pro
The file is a layered Tiff and is 190.3M
AVG is my security, not Norton Anti Virus
When I look at the preferences it states that it was created in CS3. How can I open this file? and what caused this to happen?

I'm planning my purchase of a D7100, and would like to understand the software updates that would be required to process raw files in Photoshop. My current software is: Photoshop CS5.1, Camera Raw is 6.7, Codec 1.12, and Windows 7.
The Adobe website indicates that I need to upgrade the codec to 1.18. I'm OK with that. But, will that codec work with the versions of camera raw and Photoshop that I currently have?

I'm running an iMac that's about a year old (OSX 10.8.3, 2.7 Ghz i5 with 4gb). It has an AMD Radeio 6770M graphics with 512MB ram, which according to the minimum system requirements for Photoshop CC (version 13.1.2) should be enough to do 3d. I don't have the full CC suite, just Photoshop, but it's supposed to be the same as the extended version. (Strangely, "About Photoshop@ still says CS6, not sure if that's relevant)
I've reset PS preferences. Updated everything, and rebooted.
Am I doing something stupid? I've not played with 3d before, I have a vague recollection of seeing it when I first installed but can't find it now. Basically I create blank document, 8bit RGB, create text layer, select it, and 3D extrusion is still disabled.

I am preparing to replace my current video card (nVidia GT7600) with one more compatible with CS4 (Vista- single display). Is there a recommended list from Adobe (or from this forum) that is suitable and essentially trouble free. My use is primarily photographic enhancement so a high end 3D card is not necessary.
