I have heard that the new Photoshop CC uses a new file system that is not compatible with older versions of Photoshop so you can only edit them in the new Cloud version of Photoshop CC.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to install the trial version of cs3 from the adobe website, but after I installed the setup part and started downloading the actual program, it said it downloaded 1 shared component but it couldn't download the actual CS3 program.
My computer says I'm using:
Quote:
Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2
I'm not sure what the download problem was, I checked Adobe's troubleshooting page
P.S. - If CS3 isn't compatible with Windows XP Media Center Edition, is Photoshop CS2? I had CS2 on my old computer, which was one of the Windows XP (can't remember which one, but it had service pack 2) but I would like to download CS2 or preferrably CS3 on my new computer.

I wanted to buy a book on it going further in depth with the software, but I keep finding Photoshop 7 books but not on CS4. So my question is whats the difference? everyone I talked to said CS4 is the best but I don't know the difference, from using the program with out really knowing the ins and outs of it I like it. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a few Photoshop actions that I've been using for personal projects, and I'm considering releasing them to the public. I'd like to make them as version compliant as possible, to suit a wider audience.
What I'm wondering is, if I've created actions in CS (PS v8), how far back in versions would the actions work? I've heard some people say version 7, but I couldn't get a definate answer.
I want to make some actions that will be able to work in different versions of PS (I think the 3 that we use are 5, 7, and LE). Don't worry, most of the actions will be select all, copy, paste, save, ect. Simple things that are open in all vers.
(Am I remembering right that LE doesn't have actions?)
Any who, how could I make actions work in all of these different versions? Make the actions in 5 and load them into 7? I would prefer to make them in 7,
if one could run CS2 and CS4 on the same machine without problems. I ask this, because I currently have CS2 and have been researching the possibility of buying CS4. I don't want to do an upgrade, because I want to keep my CS2 around for a while to make sure I get along with CS4.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have CS5 and Camera Raw 6.7.
I have Lightroom 3.6 and I want to upgrade to Lightroom 5.
Â
I cannot move to CS6 nor CC.
Â
I will be buying a new camera, with RAW files are not supported in Camera Raw 6.7.
Â
If I install camera raw 8 with Lightroom 5, will I be able to:
- use Camera Raw 8 with CS5
- if not, will I be able to have both versions of Camera raw, 6.7 and 8, on my computer and use 6.7 with CS5 and v8 with Lightroom?
Â
or would it be simpler to just convert the RAW files to DNG and use in both Lightroom 5 and CS5?
In Photoshop CS6, I can't set my workspace to the way it was in previous versions. I especially need the horizontal toolbar that goes under the top menus. I would use it for paths or gradient options for example.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium (Trial Version) from a PC magazine cover DVD. After the installation I opened up Photoshop,
Dreamweaver & Flash without a hitch. After closing them all down, I attempted to re-open Photoshop about 20 minutes later. I received a message "A problem was encountered while trying to load the trial period for Adobe Photoshop CS3".
I attempted to open Flash & Dreamweaver but received the same message. I re-started my PC, no good. I did a repair of the software, no good. I reformatted the hard drive and re-installed the software, no good. I downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended (Trial Version) from Adobe's web site and installed it on a second PC and got the same trial period error message.
I installed Adobe Acrobat 6 Professional (Trial Version) from a PC magazine cover CD and it worked fine. I have searched online and quite a few people seem to be having the same problem but as yet I can not find an answer. Has anyone else experienced this problem or know how to fix it. My PC is an ASUS A8V Deluxe, AMD64 3200+, 1280MB RAM, GeForce 6200 256MB Graphics Card, SoundBlaster 5.1 Audio.
Can you upgrade from CS to CS4 or do you have to have CS2 for that?
