I am currently trialling VideoStudio Pro and, after a great lot of trouble (my fault) have managed to import my video clips. I am having great difficulty using Anti-Shake. I found it after pressing the FX icon but this only allows me to apply Anti-Shake to a clip of colourful balloons (not my clip). How do I apply it to my clips? Is there a detailed manual for Videostudio 4?
View 1 RepliesI have an HV 40 and take the video off with Hd Split.I put 30 minutes of video in the time line and then want to break it up to 8 -9 minute segments. I tried using the scissors to cut each segment and then delete what I don't want and share - output - mpg optimizer. That gave me five files. The first one is fantastic, what you would expect. The rest all have a jump or stutter at the beginning. Just for one second of play, the rest is great.
So I thought I must be doing something wrong, and then started over with multi-trim. I cut the five segments out using that and the same thing. I thought I would live with it. So then I converted all the clips to MP4 HD. Just to reduce file size and make easier to upload. Now the thing I was going to live with looks twice as bad. It went from being almost unnoticeable to a major glitch. Rest of video plays great and you can hardly tell any quality difference between it and the original.
So then I started playing around with cutting off the front 1.5 seconds of the clip and that seems to actually work. To get rid of it. But it is more work and I don't think professional.
Then I read something about fade ins so I tried that. I took the original first cut of the second segment and put it into the overlay track and used the little fade in slider in the preview window, to have a slight black fade into the clip. This covers up the jitter but the entire clip is now noticeably degraded. I mean it looks lousy!I went straight to mp4 this time, instead of making the fade and then using the optimizer to go to the same format and then convert.
So now I am a bit discouraged. I have a fast six core computer am using the latest corel x4 pro and it seems that things are not going to go very well. Simply cutting the video to make edits results in jitter at the start of each cut clip and messing with a fade in just ruins the quality. What to do?

BTW going from the mpg to the mp4 reduces the size by about half which makes up load reasonable, but still an all night affair.
I cant find a way to access the filter library, click by click workflow.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've installed all the software and I can use the Boris FX as i can find it in the effects list and drag it on to a clip. However i Can't see Mercalli in the list or find anyway of accessing it from Video Studio
NB I've checked the ProDAD folder that installed and it's only 15mb in size and the .corel folder is empty
I've been using ulead vs 10 and now corel vs x4 pro to interface and record video from a microscope. I produced a DVD for microbe identification which has been purchased by 100s of amateur scientists and organic farmers. I record direct to hard drive via firewire with a Sony HD camcorder with a remote control 10X analog zoom; 37 mm lense. It is a lovely old camera.
1/ The recording controls are not accessible when in full screen mode which means I need to start recording, open the full screen then focus and start tracking my organisms with the microscope stage controls. To stop recording I need to go to small screen again first. Has this function been changed in the x5 version?
2/ When using the HD settings on camera and software, there is a delayed reaction to the computer so this makes tracking the microbes impossible. I doubt this is caused by lack of RAM I have 24 GB on a windows 7 64 bit.
3/ Occaisionally when I am observing and/or recording, the transmission freezes. I think this is likely something trying to run in the computer....Perhaps with creating a dedicated profile where I could stop any of this interference.
4/ I've been using an external USB 2.0 hard drive for storage but it is too slow. I've been thinking of a SATA external drive or USB 3. Does any huge advantages for the extra money to get a SATA external drive over USB 3.0?
I have imported multiple photos in the VSP photo library. Some photos are fine. They can be added to the project with no problem. A couple of photos when I try to move them to the project or right click for properties, VSP locks up with an unspecified error and creates a dump file. Then the program shuts down.
I have deleted the photos from the 15.0 directory and am able to delete problem photos from the library. Tried to import photos as a media file and it imports some photos ok and same photos lock up VSP x5.The issue seems to be with certain photos but I have not been able to find anything different with working photos so far.
I'm only a few seconds in to my video and a few clips in... and when I play it back I get weird audio feedback like a repetitive noise that appears to be an artifact of decompression. I tried to produce an output to see if it shows up there as well (as opposed to my project view playback) and near the end of processing the short clip, I get an error message:
"Unable to access the audio codec driver"
What give that waddle and shake to skin. Which tools do I use.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to use shake reduction, it works on the photo but then immediately crashes Photoshop CC and I have to reboot the computer to get it to open again. I suspect it has something to do with RAM. Mine is set for 1192MB. Is that enough? The images I tried were about 2000 x 3000 at 72ppi.

This is not a scratch disk error, as I have two-2TB drives as my scratch disks (nothing on either yet). 16GB memory (RAM), 14680MB available memory to PS, 2030 available VRAM. Running nVida GeForce GTX 670 on a Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz.
Is this a GPU function that may not be available to some graphic cards? Is my image too big (4000x3000px)?
I have Photoshop CS6 extended. When I look for the camera shake tool on the drop down sharpen menu, it's not there. I have tried reinstalling but no change.

It's already saved several old photos that I had given up on as hopelessly motion blurred. Now that I'm getting familiar with the tool though, I have a question. I know the tool allows for multiple blur traces to be created. How are they used, and won't they conflict with one another. If part of the image is more blurred than another, or blurred in a slightly different direction, won't the corrections applied from the blur trace determined by one part of the image actually further blur the parts of the image where that blur trace doesn't apply (and isn't the same true of the second trace then)? how the tool handles multiple traces? Are they applied locally with diminishing effect as the distance from the measurement region increases? Are they applied in some other smart fashion?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI scanned some text hand-written with a magic marker. i use threshold to get the artwork plain black and white, select the white with the magic wand, select similar and then delete. i'm left with the solid black image with crisp edges. i have marquee tools, lasso tools, and magic wand set to anti-aliasing off. feather i set to 0.
when i rotate the image to make it level, the image gets anti-aliased. to try to correct that i select the pixels of the image with command click on the layer, delete that layer and make a new layer. then i just have shape of the image created by the selection tool. when i use fill to try to fill it in, the image is anti-aliased. all i want to do is fiil in exactly inside the shape that i have selected.
I created a pixel/blocky style of logo in Illustrator. Need to bring it into Photoshop for scaling/coloring/etc. Unfortunately, when I try to scale the logo down in Photoshop 7 (via drag/drop/scale/place), it applies anti-aliasing to the logo. This is obviously no good since the logo is pixel based, including a pixel style font.
How do you resize/scale things without anti-aliasing in Photoshop? (Especially with the Transform/Scale tool, as opposed to using "Image > Resize" (with "Resample Image: Nearest Neighbor").)
I'm not used to using files back and forth between Illustrator and Photoshop.
The Text tool has options for anti-aliasing - Strong, Crisp, etc. Is there anything similar when filling paths?
I am filling two paths with a common edge; when the Anti-alias box is un-checked, the border looks ragged, but when the box is checked, the border looks grey. I can get the results I want by filling twice with anti-aliasing turned on, but I would like to have the box "Half-checked".
Photoshop worked completely fine until four days ago; now whenever I try to write text it is jagged and not anti-aliased in vector form or once rasterised.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a way to do some anti-aliasing on my drawing. I have a drawing that I scanned in and I cut out a few components of my scan in MS Paint. I did this by drawing the outline manually in one color and then coloring the background with that same color and then copying it with that color as the see-through color. The problem is that the contours look terrible on a black background since MS Paint can't help with anti-aliasing. Instead, I've got these cut-out drawings of objects with a thin white glow around them. That is, when I cut them out, it was extremely hard to move along the lines EXACTLY. I tended to cut more outside the lines than in, and so I took a lot of the white background with it. I need a way in PhotoShop to get rid of those white lines and then do some better anti-aliasing. How can I do this?
