I would like to add a music file on one track, sound effects like bells, dramatic drums on another. Is this something that I can do with VSP x3? If so where can I find out how it is done? If not is there a way for me to say put special sound effects in back of the main music clip in different places in the timeline?
View 5 RepliesI can edit a video, with resynced sound/dialogue in premiere cc. When I save and close the project, everything is okay. When I later reopen the project all or most of the audio tracks are blank. They are there with the right name and length, but no waveform and no sound. I have put them in manually resynced and then on save and close: again they are gone. So there really is no point in editing if I can`t save the result. How can i restore my edits and also why do I have to do so? I have now redone every scene 5 times and I need a solution asap. Autosave keeps the same useless projects.

I am wondering if there is another method to control volume levels on the audio and voice over tracks. I am thinking particularly about a method to easily (automatically) reduce the volume of the background music when a voiceover starts and raising it again after the voiceover is finished.
I find the existing process of capturing a volume node fiddly and, for me, a bit hit and miss.
Is there a way to add an additional audio track to either the music track or voice tracks? In other words, instead of one voice track and one music track is there a way to add a third track? I have many sound effects and music and there are parts of my project that need more than two audio tracks.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using VS since version 9 and I seem to get the same thing on each version. After I have completed the project and burn to DVD the audio track seems too loud. I don't seem to notice it playing back the file (computer speakers aren't much chop) but once in the DVD player you always have to quickly turn down the volume once it starts playing. There is no static or distortion its just too loud. I now go into every song I input on the audo track and lower the levels. And it only appears to be the music. Audio in the video clips comes out at normal levels and does not need adjusting. If anything I have to boost the video clip audio because it's too low. The songs I import are directly from CD's or MP3's from my music folder.
Its not a real problem as I can fix by constantly lowering each song but is there a way to set the preference to lower the output on the audio tracks? That is to see the level automatically set below the 0 line when music is added. Or is it something in the burn proceedure in MF7?

I have a video file, I have an audio file. Video is loaded in the video track, audio in the Voice track.
HOW in the ... do I sync them? I have the mixer on, I can see the wav graphics, I can see where I want them to line up but either the Video track must slide forward ( and it won't, it's locked on 0 ) or the audio track must slide backward (but it won't slide below 0 start) I've tried splitting, clipping... I can't get it cut just right. All I want is time frame 0 for the video to start at positive time frame within the audio.
I just downloaded the trial version of this software (Video Studio X5 Pro) to try it before I buy it. I am importing RAW and AVI footage capture from a program called DXtory. I am recording those videos with three audio tracks, one track covers the sound of the video game being played, one track covers my microphone input, and the last track covers the sound that comes through my teamspeak server.
When I import a video into Corel am I able to separately edit each audio track? IE change the volume of one input but not the other?
Just installed my free trial for video studio pro 5 and I'm attempting to creat a time-lapse video using 200 jpeg images taken from my dslr camera.After doing the following;
Click File> Insert Media File to Timeline> Insert Photo for time-lapse/strobe and browsing for my images I get the following message "These files cannot be added to this project.
These files may be of unknown format.The computer does not have enough memory Or the file is copyright protected"
Each images is about 750kb in size and are jpegs.I'm using XP home.
Moved Videostudio X4 from a Win 7 machine to a new Win 8 PC.
Again it seems, audio plays fine when playing a clip from the preview window but not when playing on the timeline. (I had a similar problem with X10 and reported it in an older thread.)
Am searching now for more patches (and yes, I'm aware X6 is now the current version) but nothing obvious at the moment. Have found the SP 1/2/3 downloads on Corel's pages, but as it already upgraded to SP3 just after install, I'm guessing SP 1 and 2 are already covered..
I add a video to the timeline video track (not the overlay track), and with 'clip' selected and playing... I have audio just fine, for the most part... sometimes the audio jumps and skips, and sounds garbled. With 'project' selected and the video playing, either the same thing happens as the 'clip' or there is no audio at all.
What I have discovered, is that this is common with AVI files. Other files, such as WMV, don't seem to have this problem. It affects only AVI files. The video plays just fine in WMP and VLC, as well as other video editors such as PowerDirector... so why dos VideoStudio have this odd sound issue? And I'm sure as Hell not gonna convert all my videos to WMV just to edit them.
This is on a fresh install of VideoStudio Pro X4 (as well as Windows), no updates, no Service Packs, no nothing... even WITH SP1 it's still does it. I've also removed and reinstalled my codec packs (from K-Lite to Shark007) with no difference.
I've also hear that people are now having this issue with VS Pro X3 as well (I have X3 to) so I assume it's pointless to install X3 as well. I really do NOT like using any editing software other than X4, since it's the best one I've used... so I do not want a reason to use something else.
I've recently upgraded the PC and re-installed VS10 onto the new, improved, beast in front of me now, but have hit a hurdle.
Whether I'm looking at an imported project or starting a new one from scratch, I seem not to be able to get the audio tracks to play when playing the project as a whole.
I can select the music track and play it from within the timeline without a problem, but select the project and all I get is the sound of silence.
after scanning and searching the forum I can't find anything that fits my bill so far.
Drivers have been checked and updated where found wanting. I'm at a loss to explain why. I never had this problem back on the old slow-coach...!
For info I'm running Vista on a dual core 2600Ghz machine with Asus P5K Pro 'board (on-board audio) and a GeForce 8600 GTS graphics card.
Audio in clips (video or audio) plays but will not play in project preview or in created video files or DVDs.
Devices:
No special devices just the normal PC setup (using 3 monitors).

I first tried VSX4 with only the codecs on the PC from a new install - that is a total wipe of the two SSD drives in the PC and a reinstall from 'clean' of Windows 8 Pro on the 'c:' main SSD and a new install of VSX4.
The PC then had adobe flash player added - mainly just for 'YouTube', 'DivX' and 'Xilisoft - Video Convertor Platinum' - a package I have used extensively before and along sided VSX4 without issue.
When I found that the audio issue continued I installed the latest available 'K-Lite' package via 'CNet - Downloads'. Throwing codecs at the problem is not necessarily I have used 'K-Lite' on and off for years though and have had no issues from 'K-Lite' (with VSX4).
Regarding .avi:
I am told there are some 800 plus known versions of files that have the .avi extension and this is problematic. However, I have tried many files and converted some to the somewhat 'standard' DivX, Xvid or H.264/MPEG 4 and had no luck thus far!
Have tried various source files from various sources. Have mostly tried .avi (DivX /Xvid) files but have also tried mpeg and mpeg 2. Have tried converting files from one type to other also.
I use the audio as it is per file and have tried splitting the audio and saving it as a .wav directly from VSX4 then using that .wav as a voice or music track. Split audio works in independent player (Windows Media Player) and plays directly in VSX4 as a clip but not when playing the project.

I have not deliberately set any of the properties manually and they seem correct for my usage.

All my PC drivers are up to date - I check video and audio drivers regularly and run windows update often.
I have .net as standard with Windows 8 but had to install an earlier version as it was reported as required by a game (Lord of the rings online).

I know I have not given precise audio and video data but this is because no matter which video I use the problem is present - I have tried many videos and audio over the last week or so.
I wonder if this is a Windows 8 Pro issue only as when I had the same PC setup with the same VSX4 and the same software previously on Windows 7, VSX4 worked a treat! That is as close to 'same' as is possible - I know Windows 8 is a bit different to Windows 7.
I am not new to this software and have made many videos. The problem is that I got a new computer with Windows 8 and installed X4 VideoStudio. I can hear the sound file when I select the clip but as soon as I select Project, there is no sound. I am currently uninstalling the program and trying to reinstall.

When I hit the Share Tab and watch it the audio disappears and I can't hear anything anymore but can still see the picture.
I have split the audio from the video to see if this corrects the problem and it doesn't. I know my microphone is picking up the audio or I wouldn't be able to hear it in the edit tab. I have made several videos before using the program and have never encountered this before.
I'm trying to create a music video in the latest trial of X5 (with SP1 and latest QT) with not much luck as the audio/video sync keeps changing.
I've imported all my .MOV files into a project library, files ranging from 50mb to 1gb in size.

From the get-go, when I Preview or Clip trim view any video segment, the audio is slightly out of sync. I've confirmed the original clip file is fine.
Since I am trying to sync only the video portion of the clip to a pre-recorded audio file I went ahead and lined up a few video clips with the audio file and it see if it would export in in sync but no such luck. Even after synching my video to my pre-recorded audio, the export is out of synch.
X5 looks like a decent program but if I can't even preview my clips with a good audio synch I think this X5 is tremendously flawed.
Just upgraded from X3 to X4 - created first project and as soon as I started trimming the video, I noticed that when I scrubbed through the project, there was no sound! I then tried scrubbing each clip, and that worked, then I tried scrubbing the project again, still no sound - tried clip on timeline and now no sound there also.
Threw out the clip, deleted the project and started over - same thing happened - audio dropped out as soon as I started cutting down the clip on the timeline.
Took exact same clip (simple .avi file) into X3 and works fine. Cutting it and editing it to hearts content, sound works fine in X3. Started over again in X4 - audio drops out AGAIN!
ZERO sound issues in any other program I have been using. Audio works fine in all other applications, except X4.
Yes "enable audio on scrubbing" is on - the audio is disappearing entirely from the clip. No audio on any form of playback as soon as I edit the clip on the timeline.
I have been playing with various clips and it seems X4 only does this on certain clips - namely the ones I have converted from .FlV to AVI - BUT, X3 handles them ALL fine!
I have seen others with this problem. I have downloaded all current codecs. I have audio in clip mode but not project mode. All attempts to edit and save file result in no audio.

I have few avi video clips which I believe I imported from camcorder using windows moviemaker. When I play those clips in any media player they play fine.
I have latest Corel Video Studio Pro X3. When I import this videos into timeline and play clips sound plays fine but when I play the project there is no audio. Even if I render it there is no sound.
I am using VS Pro X2 - I have 3 small MP4 files in my project timeline (filmed on my mobile phone) and for some reason although they play fine on the clip, the audio doesn't come out on the Project, or on the finished DVD, which is a real pain...I have 94 minutes of good quality DVD and 45 seconds of silence! If there was no audio at all I could understand it, but the MP4 clips all play fine on the "clip"...it''s just that when I play them under the 'Project', there is no audio.

I am having a very difficult time trying to figure out what is wrong with my audio in VSPx4.
When I put a video in the timeline and click on it so it is on the "clip" the video plays fine but the minute I switch it to "project" the audio dissappears. If I render it in any format, the audio doesn't return. Also, if I multi-trimm a video I am no longer able to get audio either.
Lastly, if I split the audio from the video I cannot play the project at all. It just gives me a frozen screen...
I have re-installed VSPx4 and have all the patches updated.
I am burning DVDs from an hour long project file in ProX5, of a two act opera. Act I burned fine, but Act II which is a separate project comes out on the DVD with the audio ahead of the video. I am making coasters, have quite a collection. I've never had this problem before with burning DVDs. I have burn speed set to 16x, not maximum. In the past I normally use the project rendered to a movie for the DVD burn, but with editing changes I keep making, it is faster to just burn directly from the project.
I am not using a separate audio file. The audio is embedded in the video.When I play the project and not the DVD, the audio and video are fine.
When I do the final render on my project, I find that in certain spots the audio is clicking, kinda sounds like static. It tends to happen when I do hi-def renders, but almost happens all the time. The only time it doesn't seem to happen is when I do low quality rendering. However, when I am editing the project, before I do the final render, there are no audio clicks at all. how to fix it?
View 13 Replies View RelatedDescribe your problem: Once I've inserted a video file or files into the project timeline, playing the videos with the word "Project" under the screen highlighted, the audio (which is speech only) breaks up - all I hear is parts of words every second or two. Highlighting the term "Clip" just under "Project" provides clear, unbroken audio. This condition is new, first occurring after I installed VideoStudio Pro X3 Fix for MLE Database Incompatibility with PaintShop Photo Pro X3. Since then, I have re-loaded VSX3 and all the patches but to no avail. Note: the same video files can be processed by Windows Live Movie Maker and the audio and video come out fine, even if the effects are primitive.
What devices are involved and their mode of connection?: NONE, files are either in the VS Projects file or in my Videos folder. The Version of program is being used: Video Studio Pro X3. Please list all patches/updates that have been installed relating to that version of the program. I am editing in the timeline in Smoke 2013. I bring in a music track onto track 4. I bring in a interview clip on track 1. Only one or the other will playback and not together at the same time. I also notice on the audio tracks patch area a small square that when you place the cursor over and drag left or right I assume channels are being selected. What is this square box for and how do I get all my audio tracks to playback together?

I recently started to work with the Adobe suit so i am not yet used to the workflow. We are serval people working on the post production of a short movie filmed with a red SCARLET in raw which means that the files are pretty big. The audio where captured in serval tracks who all have been merged with the video clips. The clips have thereafter been cut and placed in its right place. So now it is my job to work with the sound design. I have tryd to export the audio in both AAF and OMF and every time i open it up in Audition it sais that the media is offline. On my computer all i have is the orgininal Audio files. Is there anyway to get only the audio (all the tracks) to Audition, without having them searching for the merged files. For example creating new Audio from the cutted tracks?
