View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a table of actions that use the Shift key? The Keyboard Shortcuts show Shift + Click and Shift + Play but, for example, the Shift key can be used to stretch or shorten an audio track without losing the contents, just varying the playback speed. Are there any other uses for the Shift key?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying (without luck) to shift-select all of the photos in a folder to bring into a folder that I've created in VideoStudio Pro X4. I have the folder showing up a highlighted, then go to browse, then to the folder, but with I try to drag the folder into Video Studio, it then stops showing the folder and I get a circle with a line thru it. How does one easily bring in a batch of photos to use as you are building a project??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have long been using the program. I like the filter Video Pan and Zoom, if not a big BUT.
If the clip you select multiple control points pan and some of them coincide with the center, it is impossible to capture the crossing point for the desired position correction frame, since the engine is the player immediately jumps to the first control point. If the pre-shift frame with panels Anchor, then grab the frame with the mouse is already possible, but the trajectory of the frame after this change. The latter leads to the door frame at the edge of the screen in motion.
How to select a frame, which is currently in focus when several centers framework be at each other?
In my current project, after spliting the audio from a certain clip, the Audio Filter buttom is greyed even the audio clip is marked, so I can't use it. It doesn't happen to me in previous projects.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have some old 8mm family films which decades ago (back in 1980) were converted to VHS.The 8mm reels are long gone now, they got moldy, brittle and turned to dust, so I binned them around 1992.About 6 years ago, we converted the VHS tapes to DVD - direct copy from VHS deck to DVD recorder - so the family could enjoy the tapes again, because they were getting too old. We binned the VHS tapes about 3 years ago.
So here is my conundrum:Considering I have no longer access to the original 8mm reels, and the VHS tapes are long gone as well, during the process of copying across from VHS to DVD the 'interlace' has remained and become digitally burned into the VOB files... is this correct in my thinking?
The reason I say this is because now that I'm trying to bring these old films back to life (which were VERY dark) I can start to see the interlaced lines start to show up as I lighten them in X3.So my curious mind is now wondering:
-Is there a way I can remove those lines?
-Where is the 'de-interlace filter' in X3?
I've been using VS 5 for awhile. The sharpness filter, when you put it on a clip, goes from soft to hard as the clip progresses.
How do I set it so that the clip stays sharp- start to finish ?
Is there a way to save a FILTERS ATTRIBUTES to recall for use in my next project, PRO X3.Titles can be saved, and a type of filter can be saved in FAVORITES, but not the attributes.Have searched here, and tried in the program, but no luck.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have started my project with the Instant Project function (middle category) and I am trying to apply the Old Film filter effect to my project but I want most of the original colour to come through. Rather than have the whole thing sepia with scratches and dust, I would like it mostly colour but with scratches and dust etc.
I have clicked on the strip of film that I want to edit the filter on and clicked 'Customize Filter' in the options. From there I clicked 'Duotone' and edited the picture there to how much colour I would like to show through. The problem is, when I click 'Ok', the colour hasn't changed when I go back and replay it. It is still all sepia and not colour.
I am wondering if there is an easy method to apply a video filter to EVERY video clip in a project instead of having to apply it manually to every clip.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs I am having problems with a NewBlue video filter (Picture in Picture - see separate post with no replies so far) I would like to find out if video filters (esp NewBlue) are stored in a folder which is not a subfolder of Corel/VideoStudio (and which may not get removed during an uninstall). Where they are located (as I cannot locate them).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying videostudio pro x5 and it looks very nice, but I have a problem that I think will lead to be a big limitation in the potential this software has, so I guess this is a bug or maybe I am not using it in the right way. I just hope is not that way by design
Anyway, the problem is that when I apply a filter to an animation or to an image (like PNG) that has alpha channel, I can see the filter coverin the whole frame if the clip is in the main video track, while if I move it to the overlay track the filter will only stay inside the picture, for example I've tried this with the lens flare.. please see this image (situation 1 on top and then situation 2 bellow the orange line):
I'd expect the lens flare to go over the transparent area of the clip so that it will be overlaid with the "background" main video track, but it is not. This is just an example but for example the same happens if I apply the lightning filter to a text filter or to a png..
I also have a similar concern with the free TitlerEx plugin that I've downloaded after registering: if I put it on an overlay track I can't just have the text with transparent background overlaid to the main video track.
Is there a filter for keystone correction or another product I could pre-process my clips though for keystone correction?

View 2 Replies View RelatedCan a filter be applied to just part of clip instead of the whole clip? I mean a way to easily adjust when a filter starts during the clip and when it ends. I'm not interested in anything involving splitting a clip because you really can't try out different start and end times simply this way. I thought about doing it by adding keyframes, but the few filters I've tried can't be turned off completely and leave residual effects that can be seen.
There's an editing feature in AVS Video Converter and you add effects to a video clip on a separate timeline just below the video timeline, and it's easy to move the effect on the timeline and you can change the length of the effect by dragging the ends. Is there something similar in Videostudio?
I'm still using VS pro 3 and have a problem with my color yellow. I get a message 'color has been changed by filter.' How can I undo the filter and get my original color yellow back?

I live in Europe so that's PAL. But I also want to make DVD's for my family in the USA, and that is NTSC. I know I can choose to burn a DVD in PAL or NTSC at the DVD factory.
What I do NOT understand is: When I want to edit my video files I can choose for PAL or NTSC at Settings>Preferences>edit color filter. What does this setting do?
Also when I check Project Properties it always says PAL, even when I choose NTSC at Settings>Preferences>edit color filter. How I can edit video files and then burn DVD's in Pal & NTSC format without having to make separate editing for both formats.
When I apply a video filter the sliders and button under the original/preview box are hidden beyond access by the windows box's boundaries.
I can see they're just hidden below the timeline of the split original/preview section. Can't seem to maximize the windows box to show the whole thing and access them. Here's a picture to show: [URL].......
Is this a common problem? Is there a work around? Has it been fixed in VS X4?
Quick edit: this happens with more than just one filter.
I have a LIVE show recorded and I want to add Video Filters in various places within a single 4 minute video. Do I need to cut up my video to segments to add filters too or can I apply them to different spots in a single video?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried to use the lens flare filter in Photoshop CS6.While the lighting effect is interesting, it introduces ugly artifacts like blue or orange blobs (which are supposed to be the reflection of the diaphragm, but do not look anywhere close to that, but instead are just cheesy looking blobs of color).
In the "movie prime" setting blue lines are added which have nothing to do with lens flar.On top of it, the preview is about the size of a stamp. Any way to use the filter without getting these artifacts, or is it - what I assume - just a useless toy filter, that has probably been dragged on for years and years because it's always been there? What do you use to create a lens flare effect? Are you just building it from scratch with brush work?
