Having problem of Revit 2013 crashing when they go to close a large revision cloud? it doesnt seem to do iit with a smaller cloud, but when you click the green checkmark to close a large one such as clouding a large plan it shuts down with no option to save.
View 7 RepliesA new phenomenon today after updating R14 yesterday with the 'rvt2014ur11' patch, though this might not be connected. My revision clouds, after finishing the edit and clicking the big green tick, disappear! The revion number and note is added to the bottom of the sheet but no revision cloud. As annotation objects visibility is on, there is no annotation cut off on a sheet view and they do not show up when the 'Reveal Hidden Elements' is chosen.

I want to make a hyperlink into a revison cloud for a DOC file, but I not found the Revision Cloud category in Project Parameters/Parameter Properties dialog.
I search for this solution because I don't know the limit size of the parameter Comments. I wish add many comments on the project and these can have texts and images, so I choosed put comments in a DOC file.
I am making revision clouds on some record drawings. They come out all peachy, but when I save the file and reopen it, all of the wonderful little clouds change to jagged straight lines.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAlthough we're in Architecture 2012, I've gotten rid of the Windows ribbons and used MENULOAD to bring back the toolbars I am most efficient with. Using the revision cloud button on the DRAW toolbar, I draw the clouds in paperspace like I always have. The arcs of my clouds now flip back and forth so that they are sometimes correct and sometimes inside out. I don't know when this started (with the upgrade to 2012? out of the blue?), but it's been going on for a while and it happens whether I draw clouds clock-wise or counter clock-wise.
There used to be an option where you could "flip" the cloud to change the arc "direction" and now it seems to do it automatically. No matter how slowly I draw a cloud, I often end up having to erase and redraw (and redraw, and redraw). I've searched but I can't find any mention of changing the orientation or direction of the arcs on a revision cloud.
Is this a feature, a setting or a bug in my system and is there any way to make it go away?
My REVIT 2013 is crashing my PC when I click on 'Finish' after editing a floor. Whilst the file is only 38MB I have the horrible feeling that these fatal error happenings may be due to a system shortfall on my machine rather than a software malfunction. I have a Pentium 4 MicroATX M/B 3.0Ghz CPU with 4GB RAM, running on Windows 7 Professional (64bit).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to add a single revision to all sheets at once. For example when doing a major issue of all sheets for building approval. In this case I don't use revision clouds but use the "Revisions on Sheet" function in the properties for the individual sheet. Hence the problem, having to individually select every sheet one by one and add the revision to each sheet. Is there a way to multiple select all or some sheets and just do it once? I've tried doing this through a schedule but that doesn't let you select and change a revision either. Is there an add-in that could do this perhaps?

I'd like to do this ahead of time, and preferably without having to open and insert into Revit. I know Revit uses adpointcloudindexer.exe to index the raw file formats, but was unsuccessful at trying to launch it by itself. If this can be used as a standalone convertor, possibly by combining the exe with a switch and a file location?

I did it once and can't figure out how to do it again. On the Sheet Issues/Revisions dialog box I check on the Issued box and on show I've selected Cloud and Tag, Tag, and None.

I have done some searching and am surprised at how little mention there is about both the strange look of the clouds produced by the Revit tool and their lack of flexibility. Everyone focuses mainly on being able to associate clouds with deltas and a Revision Schedule, which I admit is important also.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are using AutoCAD 2014 and one of the biggest selling points was its improved point cloud functionality. I have been inserting a point cloud with RGB color but when it comes in, I get no color. The preview window show it in color, the details say YES that color is attached but all I get is a plain white point cloud. The Visualization panel is lit up and I can change from scan color to intensity and back. It looks like it is working but I get zero change to my cloud.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create some new templates for 2013 and I'm trying to figure a way to get the model revision number to populate into the drawing's iproperty revision number so that they will match upon save. I'm trying to do this by creating an ilogic rule but I don't see a system property in the idw that will allow me to access the 3D model iprops. I am going to Event Trigger the rule to run Before Save. Is this possible?
On the drawing border I have created a formatted text box that is built as:
Type: Properties - Model
Property: Revision Number
It simply pulls the data from the models revision number and populates the text box. I need this same thing to happen but rather than populate into a text box I need it to populate into the drawings revision number iprop.

why, when setting up a field on a drawing,... you cannot choose the Revision? It should show up as a Document Field category... but it is not available to choose? How are you supposed to link a revision field in your title block, to the revision set as a file property by Vault? URL.....

I have seen that AutoCAD has been utilised to achieve this and wondered if there is any literature or instructions as to how this is achieved? Is there a plugin required that is able to control the Kinect V2 and output point cloud data from scans?

I have a project that was started in revit 2009. It was upgraded to 2011. It kept crashing on me so I decided to just start from scratch with a new 2011 file. I transferred the walls from the file that kept crashing. Just as I finished up with the exterior shell, it crashes again. "Revit has encountered a serious error. You can save a backup file or cancel and keep working" I try to save the backup file, but revit just closes. I open the file and work for a few minutes and it crashes again...this happens over and over. I have audited and purged. Why am I still having the crash problem when I started from scratch? Is it because I have transfered project standards (walls only) from an earlier version? Is it bringing with some kind of glitch from 2009?
