Revit :: Changing Sheet Border To Another
Jan 4, 2013I created many sheets with a wrong border, can I reassign another titleblock instead of making all new sheets from scratch?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Revit project with two different types of title blocks - one for Planning Board Submissions and one for Construction Documents. Is there a way of changing the title block family for a sheet from one family to another? I cannot seem to be able to do this without deleting the sheet and re-creating it with the new title block family.
I cannot just edit the family and reload it because, like I said, I need to maintain certain information on some sheets and different information on others.
Per the attached exhibit, how to get the plot border to cover the entire sheet border instead of just the bottom left corner.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change the default margin offsets (i.e. the distance between the edge of your border or title block to the edge of your paper), without using the "Insert Drawing Border" option?
I would have thought you could do this through the "Edit Sheet" or "Define New Title Block / Border" options. I have multiple customized title blocks, which each require their own margin offsets.
I have been creating a drawing of a Assembly and realized that I had drawn it on a Company "D" size border by mistake. How do I change it to a "B" size border without starting over?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've created a round rectangle. I want the shape to be black with a white border. However whenever I finalize and save, my white border disappears and I'm just left with a black shape. Edit > Stroke is'nt highlighted.
Whenever I change the colors from black and white I dont seem to have this problem. How can I change/modify the BORDER COLOR of my shapes?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI made this in paint.net and specifically the border in the "effect" "Borders N' Shapes.' I was using the 'move selected pixels' tool to get my text centered just right and then after I would make the adjustment, a big rectangle (basically right around the entire image) would show up on the screen, and I would use "deselect" to get rid of it, but the corners got permanently messed up. I tried to do a new border wit "Borders N' Shapes' but it didn't work.
I even--I know, not the brightest thing, but I tried using the rectangle tool and getting as close to the inside of the borders, cropping and selecting, and then re-sizing it to my original 1600x2400 but paint.net crashed when I tried that.
I'd really rather do it the right way anyway. I can go back and basically re-set everything, but I have changed fonts and font sizes and like I said I have the spacing just the way I want it, so it would be a fair amount of work to go through again.
any way of restoring the border without changing the 1600x2400 dimensions? I had a 3 pixel light gray border. You'll see how it's goofy on the left upper and lower corners. And how do I avoid those rectangles that show up (that I used the deslect to get rid of) when I use the move selected pixels tool to adjust individual text in the layers?
I wanted to change some of the file names for the individual drawing files that linked to a sheet set. If that is possible without loosing the sync with the sheet set?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to tag doors in a drawing. What I want to see is the door size, so I turn on 'width' parameter, and turn visibility off on the border of the text. Change the size of the text to match, easy enough. Now I want to place the text along the open door in the floor plan view, but the tag always jumps to the center of the door frame. Can this be modified to do as I want? is there an alignment parameter I can alter? Perhaps tagging the door family and aligning it in the family editor? Does Revit is capable of doing this. Until then, I have to place the text for each individual door.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a rectangle (looks like a label border) showing up in my room tag. It's a simple tag taken from the OOTB room tag family. I'v re-edited the family, checked the parameters and values. All label borders are off, but this one looks like its either part of a separate, invisible label or a separate rectangle that I can't find to delete.

I have need of creating a 12" wide (contrasting) carpet border for an area. The main carpet area will have a pattern. The border will be a complementary solid color carpet.I attempted to use Create & Divide Parts to do this, but get strange results.
1. Create Parts > Select Floor.
2. Divide Parts
3. Edit Sketch > draw two closed loops to define the part area.
4. Exit sketch - entire sketch shifts to the right by a foot or so.
I have 4 different sized drawing templates made, one each for A,B,C and D size. There are times when I start a drawing on a C size border/sheet and it gets too cluttered as I add views or annotations. Is there any way to insert/change the sheet size to the D sized template without starting over?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want to start printing some of this stuff I've created, I used a sheet set I downloaded from somewhere but now that I'm further down the road I want to change the layout, title blocks and such. What's the best way you pros would handled this. I know there's times when a customer of yours walks in and says we want to change how the sheet looks, they have new logos, title block request and other things they want changed, they also want to change the sheet size, how would you handle these things, I'm really interested in how you would change the sheet size in the middle of a project.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have two problems. I want to change the text size, font, and color to be consistent with my office standards. However I can not find where the Sheet List Style is stored or edited. Which brings me to the second issue, the HELP in Exchange is bogus. Like MANY of the help entries, it refers to incorrectly named or non existent features and commands. In this case it says to "Select the sheet list in the drawing, right-click, and click Edit Sheet List Table Settings." which would be fine, except there is no option in the right click menu named "Edit Sheet List Table Settings".
Clicking on the Manage tab on the ribbon and selecting style Manager, the selecting Documentation objects, then schedule table styles, yeilds...nothing. How can I edit something that has no options?
Hiding the style manager so that all you get when you click on help is a ding that tells you there is a command open, but does not bring the command window to the fore.
I use AC 2013 LT.
1)When switching between the Drawing and Annotate option to the AC Classic option a menu would appear with options to use the civil menu, mechanical or architectual. This has now dissappeared and I do not know how to acces it again.
2) Coming from a manual drafting background scaling appeared to be easier. I want to change the template scale shown in the title block from 1:1 to 1:5. This seems to be able to be done as it is highlighted. All my efforts save to enter it hard does not work, but this does not change the sheet scale. Changing the scale on the menu bar does not affet the sheet scaling
I want to change the material of a sheet metal part using inventor api.I tried something like code
Dim partDoc As PartDocument partDoc = inventorApp.Documents.Open(FilePath & filename, False) If partDoc.SubType = "{9C464203-9BAE-11D3-8BAD-0060B0CE6BB4}" Then Dim smDef As SheetMetalComponentDefinition smDef = partDoc.ComponentDefinition Dim style As SheetMetalStyle style = smDef.SheetMetalStyles.Item("sheetMetalRule")
But I can't get the code for material change.
I wrote an app some time ago that swaps out user parameters that drive sheet metal thickness and bend radius.
it appears to work about 60% of the time when it doesn't it does not give any warning but even though the FX table shows the new user parameters driving thickness and bend radius the "sheet metal defaults dialog" thickness input box is grayed out and shows no value what so ever. Clicking the Edit Sheet metal rule to display the "Style and Standard Edtior" the Thickness and Bendradius still show the Old userparameters. See attached Pic.
I am setting the parameters as follows.
Replaced "Chan_Th" with "chn_thk" in FX Userparameters
then...
oSheetMetalCompDef.UseSheetMetalStyleMaterial = True oSheetMetalCompDef.ActiveSheetMetalStyle.Thickness = sThick
As you can see FX reports the change but sheet metal settings does not.
This code appears to work or not at random.
for my latest little project I'm trying to change layer settings depending on a entry in a sheet set attribute.
Basically, if the sheet set custom attribute entry is 'white' I want the colour of a specific layer displayed as 255,255,255, and if it's blue I want it changed to 0,0,255. So I can control the colours from a sheet set custom properties level.
And for it to check if the layer existing in the drawing, so it'll skip the process if it's not there.
I notice that a 3D view on a Sheet, when the view is "activated" and with the crops regions on, can be reshaped, but I do not see a way to make what is shown on the view a tad "larger" (i.e., bigger, like zooming in). (I have tried, but I might be missing something?)
I wonder if there is way to scale a 3D on the sheet, to make the "scale" of only one of the 3D's larger on this sheet (without affecting the scale of the other views on the Sheet). Is this possible?
I can't change the scale of a dwg. on a sheet. Can you uggest what I need to do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWas instructed to use arch titleblock. I created my own shared parameters file. I can physically click on the sheet and name the sheet but the name doesnt change in the project browser,
So I created a shared parameters file. I created the parameters I needed (in this case the sheet title). The parameter properties discipline set to common, type set to text. I edited each label I wanted to re-associate. Hit new, selected the shared parameter, removed the arch label and added mine. I loaded into project and had it overwrite parameters. Then I went to the project parameters and added my shared parameters and under category applied to the sheets.
why the two (project browser and the sheet itslef arent talking?
I am able to get the parameter to appear on the project information tab, but I cannot get the information to appear on the sheet. I would like to create a phase parameter on the sheet so that different projects under the same building will be specific to the project and not just the building.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I adjusted our title block. Scale is automated by the scale view of the views placed. It becomes 'as indicated' is multiple scale are used. No problem, that part I can live with (/ workaround).
Sadly the scale doesn't appear on a sheet list schedule. Which surprises me . With revit 2012 I was wondering: I am wrong? If not: do you have a nice workaround which doesn't mean I have to manually input it.
I was wondering if it's possible to create a sheet list that uses keys. I'm trying to create a sheet list that will also have key dates listed with whether or not changes occurred to that sheet (something our project managers like to see). In the attached image you can see how we're doing it today.
I can get everything with the exception of the dates that allow a yes/no style for them. Is there anyway to recreate this in Revit? If not could I make a separate key schedule for just the date portion and align it with the sheet list. In essence creating two separate schedules aligned so it looks like one schedule? I tried setting up that, but cant seem to create a key schedule that will allow me to use sheet items for sorting purposes.
