I am not able to find out door family template in revit 2013 it's been several times repaired and go to add or remove features and did whatever i knew only get metric family but not able to see metric family window template , Door family template etc..how to get more templates ..

Background:Although I'm on subscription I only install every 2nd or 3rd upgrade. Just a week or two ago I upgraded from 2010 to 2013 Building Design Suite. I installed all the default components in their default locations with the exception of the following:
1. As much of the program as permitted has been installed on D:Programs;
2. I only installed the Australian Templates, and they're located in Z:Autodesk... ;
My user templates, etc. are in Z:Templates... and all my projects are in Z:Client...
Everything is working fine. I can open projects, create new projects using my templates and using the Autodesk Australian content templates.
Z: is a drive on my file server which gets backed up every night, thus I never lose any project, template or family, etc.
Having subscribed to an on-line training course, I need to install the US Imperial templates. While I'm at it, I may as well install the metric and a few others too.
Problem:To install the extra templates I went to Control Panel / Uninstall or change a program / Autodesk Revit 2013. The Autodesk Revit 2013 installer opens with three options across the bottom:Add or Remove FeaturesRepair or ReinstallUninstallWhen I choose Add or Remove Features I get the following error:Error 1327. Invalid Drive Z:
After clicking OK I get another error:
Fatal error during installation.
{7346B4A0-1300-510-0409-705C0D862004}: failed to run
AdskExecuteSequence.
Then:This product failed to update.
I have a 64bit PC with 16GB ram. There is plenty of space on all drives.
Windows 7, .NET Framework 4.0.30319 and 4.5.50709.
When I use quick select, I can see that there are map features listed in my drawings. When I try to select these features it either says they have been selected but they aren't actually selected, or the autocad will crash forcing me to start over. How can I removed these features (which do not actually appear in the drawing) from the drawing. So many of my files seem to have this problem.

Aligning more than a few of these one-at-a-time is time consuming - any way to extend multiple reference plane lines to a boundary line or object? I read your instructions for offsetting reference planes - when I select the reference planes button in the home tab, the options bar allows me to set an offset distance but I am at a loss as to how one goes about getting the line to offset - I keep getting the layout dimension when i try to click on the line!

I have a part which consists of a sweep with a 3D path, 2 planar sketches projected to a 3D surface to be precise. To make matters worse, it's a sweep whose end meets it's own beginning (the intent of this specific model is to just satisfy a shape, not necessarily reflect the way it's going to be produced). To date I have not found a way to have this sweep feature recognized as a Revit feature, be it as a single feature or multiple. I am running Inventor Professional 2014 on Windows 8 64-bit.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a project where some model elements (walls, windows, etc) are stuck in a workset called "structural settings". I have not created this workset and it is not part of the "user-created" worksets. When I select an element and try to change the workset parameter the drop down-menu does not have another option, nor it lets me to input anything. I am the owner of all worksets and no one else is a borrower. Is there any way to get these elements back to the "user-created" worksets?

I ask, because in our office we dimension from finish face to finish face. I would like to run a single dimension string, but when I create a face-to-face dimension string it also dimensions the thickness of the walls. I just want to see the room dimensions, not the wall dimensions, but I can't figure out how to remove the wall dimensions while still keeping the others.
Furthermore, if this is possible, can I still use the equality constraint? I don't want to see wall dimensions, but would still like to be able to make all of my rooms equal.
I have a request from an Architect to detach, purge and remove links from my model every time before I upload. I used to clean up received models (MEP 2008-2010) thinking it would increase performance. It's been a years since I have done this and my model performance behaves no differently. Is there any validity to his claims that this is beneficial on the Architectural side?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI linked in a cad.dwg survey into my Revit model and I don't like the result. I'm trying to unload or remove the linked file now and I get an error message, "A serious error has occurred. It is strongly recommended that you use Save As to save your work in a new file before continuing."
Saving to a new file does not change this problem. I've tried cleaning up the survey file, moving the file to another location, changing from relative to absolute path. Revit shouldn't even be finding this file any more. Isn't linking similar to x-refing in AutoCAD?
How to get this dwg out of my Revit file?
I am trying to create a sheet of floor plans that does not show the next floor down on each floor plan but I can't seem to find out how to do it. My lecturer said it made the floor plans 'confusing and difficult to read' but other than photoshopping them out or something I'm stuck See attachments for exactly what I mean. When I tried to use the 3D features, it wouldn't let me, because I didn't have enough VRAM dedicated. So when I went into preferences, I could only set my VRAM up to 503 MB. I would say that I just don't have enough video memory; however, I have 3061 MB. I tried going into my BIOS and adjusting the video card memory allocation settings, except I didn't see any.

When I attempt to extrude some text in CS6, there is no ground plane, no widgets, no viewing panel and none of those fancy grab handles that are meant to be there. The move, scale and rotate for 3D tools have a 'no entry' sign when I attempt to use them on the model, even though it has extruded.

So I have a CC subscription. The CC only feature of being able to apply liquify filter to a smart object is working fine but the new smart sharpen has no new noise reduction slider. Why are some CC only features working while others are not?

These actions have no effect. Restarting my computer doesn't always fix it. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium with Photoshop CS4 64-bit. Switching to Photoshop 32-bit fixes nothing. I followed them to the instructions online but when I went to select the 3D option, all the options in that dropdown list were 'greyed out' and unselectable.
I now do not know whether I have installed something incorrectly or whether my computer is just not able to make use of the 3D features because of it's age and/or system setup. Below is a screengrab of what my system settings are.
I am interested in finding out how to enable Graphics features in Photoshop CC. I am using Windows 7, with Intel G41 chipset and even though the box is checked next to "Graphics Accelerator", I still cannot use the 3D features.

I tried re-setting everything and reinstalling the program and changing preferences and nothing worked. Finally after about 4 hours of trying to figure it out I figured out that I was working in CMYK color mode, so I changed it to RGB and that fixed it. So, if you're having trouble with this make sure you check your color mode and be sure that it is in RGB not CMYK.

We are a small business that uses AutoCAD. We are currently running 2012. We are on subscription. We only draw in 2D because most of our machines are very simple. The question is; what are the new features for 2D? It seems like the only thing Autodesk is interested in is 3D. I don't know if I want to upgrade further.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm messing with CS3. I have Bridge set to allow me to use ACR to open jpegs as well as RAW files. Worked fine for a while... all of a sudden the "camera raw preferences" option is gone from Bridge. I can still open files FROM Photoshop in ACR but not from Bridge. Even when bridge allows it to open in ACR it has to start Photoshop to do it rather than just popping up the ACR window like it was for a while.
This is a known problem without a known cause that I have been able to find in my research. It's not platform dependent from what I've been reading after much googling. Resetting preferences, clearing cache, and playing with settings don't seem to make any difference. From what I've read online, even reinstalling sometimes doesn't work.
I need a solution how to convert SDF line features to DWG, where only one feature converted to DWG and DWG is named after feature ID. So if i have SDF file where are 3 featured( ID's are 1,2,3) and i want to convert those features to three different DWG files(one feature per DWG):1.dwg, 2.dwg etc.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a license for Photoshop CS4 Extended (Windows) and for some reason whenever I install it the software appears to be installing as regular non-Extended CS4. At least, the 3D menu items don't appear, and when I go to "About Photoshop" it doesn't say extended.
I have double-and triple-checked that my serial number and license are for the Extended version. It says it right there on the package, on the CD, and on the sticker with the Serial Number.
I had to wipe my machine and re-install everything recently, and now it's not showing up. Is there something else I need to do when installing? Is there some hidden option I need to turn on?
