Premiere Pro :: Opening CS6 Files With CS 4
Dec 2, 2013I am wondering how it may be possible to open PP CS 6 files with CS 4. There was an earlier listing to modify some code to change Version "25" to Version "24" for v5.5.

View 2 RepliesI am unable to open my program. It froze yesterday while I was editing a film - now I can't get it to open. Premiere 11.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had premiere fail to open for a while now on one of my secondary PC's. This computer was setup with a network drive as its disk cache/links to projects. This is so multiple editors can work off the same RAID. Works perfectly, aside from the fact that windows somehow unlinked the network drive. Once this happened premiere fails to launch and crashes when starting the program.
I had got the network drive linked back up at one point and premiere launched again running with zero problems. Again windows messed up the network drive, and premiere again, does not work.
I need to reset the settings for premiere (the disk cache settings).
THINGS I'VE ALREADY TRIED: I already tried holding Ctrl + Shift to reset, did not work. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the settings were not removed and program keeps crashing.
I would just relink the network drive and then once premiere launches change the disk cache and never do that again, but sadly the computer will not relink to that partical drive.
I'm running windows 8, latest version of CC (just updated). I have 32gig Ram, I7 processor overclocked to 4.4GHz, Nvidia Graphics.
Adobe Premiere CC crashes when opening a project file error 3697 have to close application with Task Manager media files open separately OK
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my primary Workstation I´ve created a project of medium complexity (150GB, approx. 200 files, 5 sequences). Here everything is working just fine.
On my laptop I also installed Adobe CC. I copied the whole projects' folder from workstation 1 onto my external HDD and connected it to my laptop.Opening and cutting works fine here too.
Now, when I save and take the project (project file only) back to workstation 1, here Premiere Pro CC fails to load it up.The loading bar proceeds to about 75% and then freezes. If I give it some time (10-15 minutes) it finally finishes loading, but Premiere isn't showing any reaction to mouse or keyboard, there are no panels at all visible. Basically it is crashed, allthough that´s not being indicated by the task manager.
I´ve tried all the tips from in here as well as the "usual stuff": Saving a new project file, nothing.Deleting preview files, then saving a new file, nothing.Importing the project into AE and exporting a new project (on my laptop), nope.Deleting all dynamic linked comps from the old project, saving then taking it to laptop 1, opening and saving it again, taking it back to the workstation, no.Completely deleting everything Adobe on my workstation 1 and re-installing CC, "great" experience, but to no avail.I also followed the solution of the similar problem on another thread here in the forums, with unzipping the xml and deleting certain lines of code and so forth, still nothing. Then I went ahead and installed CC on my second laptop (not at all to be considered a workstation). Here the projects saved on laptop 1 opened just fine (asking for media files of course...).
EDIT:I forgot to mention that a new and blank project from the laptops opens just fine on the workstation...
So I have to consider that something's wrong with my primary workstation. Right?
It´s a fresh installation of Windows 8.1 with 24GB of Ram, GeForce GTX 570, i7 950, WD drives only, Windows on a seperate hybrid disk...All CC installations are up to date.
I can edit a video, with resynced sound/dialogue in premiere cc. When I save and close the project, everything is okay. When I later reopen the project all or most of the audio tracks are blank. They are there with the right name and length, but no waveform and no sound. I have put them in manually resynced and then on save and close: again they are gone. So there really is no point in editing if I can`t save the result. How can i restore my edits and also why do I have to do so? I have now redone every scene 5 times and I need a solution asap. Autosave keeps the same useless projects.
on Mac Pro, 10Gb Ram, premiere cc.
I tried the pluraleyes extension (as I was using pluraleyes) but this makes no difference.
I've run into a problem with Premiere Pro CS6. Last week, I experienced a crash while working on a project, and ever since then I have been completely unable to open ANY of my saved projects.
Whenever I now try to open any saved project - regardless of whether it contains any footage or not - Premiere immediately freezes unrecoverably. The same thing happens with newly created projects. If the project contains video footage, the 'Media Pending' preview shows on the frozen page - if there is NO video footage in the project (which would be rare, obviously), then it just freezes without the Media Pending message.
I can, however, open a previously saved project by opening Premiere, creating a NEW project and importing an old project or sequence into it. Using this method I am able to encode one video at a time. I can not use Adobe Media Encoder to queue up video sequences for encoding - Adobe Media Encoder also crashes (freezes) whenever I attempt to start the encoding queue.
Steps attempted to resolve this issue (all unsuccessful);
Uninstalled the Adobe Master Collection CS6 completely, followed by a reinstallation. No change.Uninstalled every Adobe application on the computer, then deleted every remaining Adobe directory I could find - including those contained in Program Files, Program Files (x86) and in my user profile directory. Also emptied my Media Cache folders. I also then ran the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and removed everything it would allow me to from CS6 and below. Followed by a reinstallation. No change. Both of the above installing back without any patches (Premiere CS6.0.0) and with patches (Premiere CS6.0.5). No change.Emptied the 'Temp' folder for my user profile. No change.
The one slightly useful thing that I have found is that if I create a new user account in Windows and open Premiere from there, everything seems to be fine - so the issue would seem to be related to my Windows user account ...
I do not want to simply eraze my current user account because it would take me ages to restore all of my preferences, applications and whatnot to their correct configuration - and there's no guarantee that the same thing wouldn't occur again (especially given that I've seem similar reports from other people, so it's not an isolated incident).
I'm running Windows 7 Pro, SP1, incidentally.

My main user folder on the iMac is set to be shared (read/write, including all enclosed files) with my MacBook Pro. The job is a series of one-page InDesign files (they are newspaper advertisements). The IDD files contain a series of Illustrator files with linked PSD files. The idea is that we can both work on the .idd and .ai files in the same folder at the same time.
It's all working fine EXCEPT that whenever an .ai file is opened on the MacBook, Illustrator doesn't know where the linked PSD files are. We can update the link, but when the .ai file is then opened on the iMac and saved, the same thing happens the next time it is opened on the Macbook.
I don't want to embed the PSD files into the .ai files as sometimes I have to modify them and they can be linked to up to 20 .ai files.

I am trying to import footage shot on a Sony PMW-200 camera into PP 7. I was wondering what files need to be imported into PP 7, i.e. the .mxf files. the .xml files, etc. I am getting footage into the project, but it is not playing in the source window, and I also don't have any audio.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am running Premiere Pro CC on a Mac running Mavericks. When I try to open a previous version project in CC that has avi or .dv files, I get the following error:
"The preset used by one or more sequences in this project requires third party components that could not be located. These sequences will be modified to use a custom sequence setting instead. To continue editing using original preset, quit the aplicationwithout saving the project, re-install and third party components that are required and re-open the project."
Once the project opens, the avi and .dv files are listed as 'offline'.Am I missing codecs or is this related to something else? I have a few projects with avi files so would be great to find out what's going on!
Is it possible to edit .TS files with Premiere?
View 1 Replies View RelatedTrying to upgrade from CS5 to CS6. Upgraded one NLE and found CS6 will not import DV files that were used with CS5. Can't believe Adobe missed this one! View 7 Replies View RelatedI've uploaded .mov files from my Canon 7D camera onto Adobe Premiere CS6, but after doing some editing the footage in the playback screen is very jerky/slow. I'm working on a brand new iMac OSX and have a RAM of 4GB, so why the playback would be so slow.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've just tried to import a bunch if .avi files into Adobe Premiere (OSX) but they all failed due to missing codec. Is there a way around this? I've looked at some other threads but don't understand it all and i'm on a bit of a deadline.
I've currently installing it on my windows box as i know OSX doesn't play nice with avi anyway, is it likely to work?
The avi files have multiple streams -2 camera angles are recorded, when they are loaded both show and play in sync so i'm worrying about converting to another format.
I recently moved to CC in order to be able to work with Blackmagic's DNG raw files inside Premiere Pro. The move was successfull, I could work with such files. However, all of a sudden, I cannot import them into Premiere Pro. First, I cannot select the files and import them as a sequence, because the box will not activate.
Second, when I click on the folder containing the files, Premiere tries to import them, but then an error message appears saying "file format not supported".
I have seen other discussion threads about failures to import Blackmagic Cinema POCKET raw files, but I am working with files from the 2.5K Blackmagic Cinema Camera, which should give no trouble. In fact, as I said, I was perfectly able to work with them.
I have introduced no changes in my computer or the CC Suite, so this sudden error is all the more puzzling. The wav file will get imported, but none of the DNG files will.
I'm importing AVCHD files into my timeline in Premiere and have a files that's spanned over three MTS clips. Files originate from a Sony FS700 camera.
The files show correctly but all the material is tripled on the timeline. Files 00012.MTS, 00013.MTS, 00014.MTS are all shown on timeline repeating the same material (on camera this material is spanned throughout these files). All the material is there and all is ok, but it's just imported three times on the timeline.
Media file in Premiere CS6 comes out at 7MB, same file and settings in CC comes out at 147 MB. I have tried, deleting saved copies, old rendered files, seems to be consistent across numerous files. IS there a fix for CC or a way to revert back to CS6?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe're using Premiere Pro Cc to edit a TV series, we went to save the project file and the application crashed, when we went to look for the project file, it's not there and the latest autosave file is three days old even though we've watched PP doing autosaves every 15 minutes. This happened a few months back and we lost the work. The only thing that may be relevant is that we're using a solid state drive, but it's always been very stable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI work with Adobe Premiere Pro CC, and I am able to import the MP4 files from my Galaxy S3. The video files are very good quality. The problem is that the videos do play, but they are really choppy and freeze alot. Is there any way I can makes my MP4 video files run smoothly?
View 3 Replies View RelatedA week ago all was well in Premiere Pro CS6 world. One day I updated Windows, next day all but a few .mp4 video files opened in Premiere Pro, played fine as well, EXCEPT for the fact that the display now has green (sometimes multicolour, sometimes a solid green block) bars in the lower third of the screen. See screenshot below.
These same files open/display fine in After Effects, Photoshop and VLC- and Quicktime players. I'd read something fromyears ago about Windows Updates causing this, so removed one of therecent KB's to no avail. I did install AdobeMediaEncoderTrial_64-6.0.3-mul-AdobeUpdate and DynamicLinkMediaServerRetail-1.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate and reverted to Quicktime 7.6 but nothing makes a difference.
In the end, I formatted C:, reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, downloaded/installed about 260 updates and reinstalled CS6 (and then the aforementioned AME and DLMS updates and QT7.6) but it's STILL the same problem.
Also tried exporting (part of) one of these files, just to see if it wasn't just a display problem: the exported file with the same properties as the original also has the green bars.
When importing MXF files they are all playing/acting like one clip. When playing in the preview or dragging to timeline.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to export .OGV and .WEBM files from Premiere Pro CS5 (or, if necessary, AE CS5).
Can this be done? They don't appear as export options.
trying to make a DVD which will be of several large (>13GB) video files.
Is there a limit to how big you can import?
My first video file is 17GB and I want to be able to edit it and chop bits out...when I import it, I only seem to have 3mins of audio and a broken video image....
I exported my 90 minute clip for DVD last night - these were split as I am used to into a M2V file and a WAV file - I checked it and had a look last night. I then turned my computer off for the night and have awoken to one file which is a XMP file?I am now using CC so have the latest Adobe Premiere and haven't changed anything else that I am aware of.
View 2 Replies View Relatedif I export a sequence from the timeline and have it imported into the project it only imports the film but without any sound. With some codec I can play the clip as it should be in the windows 7 ultimate explorer but I sometimes also get automatically a HD-file and the sound files as way as a separate thing. I never had that before. In fact what I want to do is to create a sequence from my timeline and have that as a separate HD-file to use whereever in the project. Especially if the sound is not the original one but added by myself. I have done that before and I would just get my HD-file and could play it in the preview WITH sound. Now all I get is the picture but .... like I said: without sound. That is not normal. So is that a rather useless update or a failure in the program?
And how can I copy a sequence from a timeline and place it anywhere else on the timeline. Used to be so easy in a previous premiere version. Now copy and paste does not work at all anymore. And whenever I want to add a clip onto a layer, I have to shut all used layers, because otherwise the sound goes anywhere but where it should and might just place itself within another sound-layer.Used to be all much better and simpler in previous editions.
I have a laptop and desk computer both loaded with Premiere Pro. Is there anyway I can access my video files from either computer using the cloud? I've just opened up the software on the desk based PC and can't see any of the video projects I've been working on using my laptop.
