Photoshop :: CS5 / Make A Zooming Effect In An Animation?
Oct 31, 2012I am trying to make a zooming effect in an animation and can't seem to figure out an easy way. Essentially, I would like a layer (.jpg or text) to start off small and then get larger as it gets "closer", essentially me zooming in on it. Is there a relatively easy way to do this in animation in Photoshop CS5?

Apr 13, 2012When working on more than one image I sometimes (accidentally) end up with a selected (loaded) image filling the edit area on screen and then I cannot 'see' (and select) the other images I have loaded. This makes me have to resort to exiting Paint Shop Pro and load the images again.
How can I 'see' and select other loaded images when this happens.

Jan 21, 2013i've got a strange problem: when zooming images in the GIMP (2.8.2, installed from archlinux [extra]), viewing them larger than the size they are being automatically zoomed to by default, they break up into unconnected, rectangular tiles.
moving (panning) them around with the mouse so that they partially leave the screen brings those parts back to be displayed properly. means i have to 'swivel' the image across all borders to get it to display properly.
in addition, applying scissors or path tool leaves artefacts on the image that can be removed the same way.
i've noticed this first with the development version of GIMP (2.9, compiled from GIT) and thought those were the new GIMP's growing pains -- but then i noticed the same happening with the stable version (2.8).
i've tried switching to an earlier version of xf86-video-ati and to an earlier kernel, but neither rectifies the problem. i also tried different options in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ 20-radeon.conf, whith the same result, i.e., none.
seems to have something to do with the image being refreshed, or not being refreshed, but which part of the system is at fault baffles me.
i'm using arch +testing, and here are my system's details:

Lightroom :: Orange Filter Colour Comes Through On Images Loaded To Computer From Camera
Mar 11, 2012I uploaded some mono images from my Canon EOS5D(2) taken with an orange filter. Previous uploads have been fine. This time, after showing the mono images in the catalogue they all convert spontaneously to orange images of various shades - and the images also show colours. The camera setting was correct, on checking, for mono uploads and, in any case, never a problem before. What have I done wrongly - and is there any rescue? Lightroom is v2.7.

Nov 27, 2012Ive noticed since upgrading to CS 5.5 that when I zoom way in on an image in Photoshop, a grid shows up around the pixels at 500% + zoom. I don't mind it all that much but there are times when I don't want that grid to show. I'm sure there is a toggle somewhere in the preferences to turn this on and off completely but it would be nice to have a key command. Not sure if that exists

Jul 17, 2012When I am in Survey View and hit the Z key, some of the previews are blurry. The same thing happens in Grid View. However, in Loupe View, the images are fine when I the 'Z' key. Using Survey View would make things go faster when making my picks.
I tried rendering 1:1 but the returns a mesage that says renders are up to date and rendering was done.
Photoshop :: CS6 Shows Transparent Pixels Over Image When Zooming Past 50%
Oct 26, 2012I'm not sure why, but Photoshop just started doing this after I converted my files to a smart object. When I try to zoom in past 50%, it displays these transparent pixel squares over the entire image. I tried rasterizing and flatting the image back, but that didn't do anything. It seems to keep doing this.

Jan 31, 2013I'm using an iMac with CS6. I have an external Maxtor 1TB drive that is 13 months old. when I attempted to access a PSD file from the drive and received an error message telling me that the document was not a valid photoshop file. I looked at the directory at this point and noticed that the preview icons for many of the photoshop and jpg files on the drive were disabled. In each of these cases, the files will not open.
I have:
1. Repaired permissions and volumes on the external drive.
2. Changed the file extension and attempted to open.
3. Opened the file in a hex editor and looked for extra lines of code, or text, or whatever.
4. Copied the file to a different drive.
5. Attempted to open in a different program (Preview, Illustrator)
In no cases will the files open, and I'm stumped. The drive itself seems to be working fine. Not every file is affected, and the files that are affected are both in a variety of locations on the drive and were created over a period of years.

Logos have different dimensions, but I fail recovering them, so that they are displayed stretched or squeezed, retaining the width and height of the first 15 logos put on stage in the Edge source.
Both of the two console.log in the following code produce w= 0 h = 0 :
- just after assigning the src attribute ;
- in the callback function of the load.

Paint Shop Pro :: Recenter Image When Zooming On X5
Sep 7, 2012I'm currently using PSP X2 for restoring a load of 35mm slide scans, some of which need extensive spot and scratch removal. These have been scanned as 16-bit TIFF files.
PSP X2 does not offer very good 16-bit support, so I have downloaded the trial of X5, with which I'm quite impressed.
There is, however something that I cannot seem to make happen in X5, which I like about X2.
If I zoom into my image, using the Magnifying Glass tool, on X2 the image automatically re-centres the image on my zoom point, whereas on X5 I have to pan the image to bring my zoom point back to the centre of the screen. For example, in X2, if I zoom-in on a point, say, in the bottom right corner of the screen, when the image re-draws, the point I zoomed on is redrawn in the center of the screen. In X5 when I zoom in, the centre point on the image stays in the centre of the screen until I pan the image. It's rather annoying having to keep panning the image each time I zoom in and out.
I've looked at the "Preferences > General Program Preferences > View" settings and all the same boxes are ticked in both programs. I don't recall ever doing anything to enable 'center image when zooming' in X2, so I assume it to be the default condition. Where I can look for a setting that centers the image on the zoom point when zooming in?
AutoCAD 2010 :: SID Image Goes Black When Zooming In
Nov 8, 2012I have a county-wide SID image file that I've attached to a street line drawing. It was working fine until this morning. Now, when I zoom in the image (all or most of it) goes completely black. Zooming into different areas of the image results in either the image being visible or blacked out...no real rhyme or reason. Of course, the area I need to address right now is entirely blacked out.
Examples attached: same scale, image is visible but then I pan to the right and it goes black....

Oct 6, 2011I am having troubles plotting out of paper space. In my drawing i have an aerial photograph (inserted as a raster image) that has been scaled, rotated and shifted onto the relevant co-ordinate system. I have a locked viewport and when i zoom in or out the photo 'jumps' around in a random fashion, same when i hit plot preview it appears out of place. I was wondering what could be causing this because i thought that paper space was simply 'viewing' whatever was in model space not being physically able to shift objects.

Jul 19, 2013I'm running Gimp 2.8.4 on Ubuntu 13.04 Linux (64-bit) and I'm trying touse the "Bevel and Emboss" layer effect on an image which I copied fromanother image. Here is what I've done:
1. Loaded image 'A' into Gimp
2. Selected a portion of it
3. Used "/Edit/Copy" to copy the selection
4. Used "/Edit/Paste As/New image" to create a new image from the selection
5. In the new window for the new image, "/FX-Foundry/Layer effects/Bevel and Emboss"
6. When the "Bevel and Emboss" window opens, I accept the defaults and click "Ok"
The filter starts to run and then stops with an error message. Here is the message I get:

Apr 18, 2012When applying filters such as accented edges, ink outline, etc to a medium sized image (1024x768 or 1280x853) produce some pretty cool results.
However, when applying those same filters to larger images like files with a 5184x3456 resolution, the filters have little to no effect. I'm guessing this is because there are so many more pixels that altering each pixel has a less noticeable effect.
You can see an example here with the accented edges filter run over a smaller version of a picture I took, and then a larger one (that was then downsized to make it viewable): [URL]
The 1280x853 one looks pretty cool. On the larger 5184x3456 version the filter had almost no noticeable effect.
The problem is that I want the cool looking version like is seen in the 1280x853 version, but at a high enough resolution to print on a large canvas that is, say, 40' x 40' or so. Is it possible to get the bigger image to look like the smaller one without losing the resolution required to print it on a canvas that large? I've been trying to figure this out for weeks now...
