I installed Photoshop 6 on a HP tablet computer and when I try to get photoshop to respond with pen size and preasure to the preasure I use to apply my stylus to the screen it acts like I'm using a mouse. I have a Wacom stylus pad and Photoshop can respond to preasure sensitivity, with the Wacom. How can I get Photoshop to recognize my HP tablet stylus?

I see the settings for controlling ganularity, distortion, spatter, etc., and the stylus tilt angle seems to control "distortion".

The cursor "spray" outline seems to change shape as when the stylus hovers over the tablet. But there appears to be less control when stylus contacts tablet.

I'm having a problem with my Wacom tablet. The stylus tool works fine (gradients, pen, paint) except for the erase tool - it won't erase to full transparency when I select the erase tool then drag my stylus. This is weird, since the actual eraser end of the stylus works fine: I just hate using that end of the tool, and much prefer using the stylus' pointed end to do all my work.

I've tried:
1. uninstalling the drivers
2. checking wintab files were gone from system32 and sysWOW64
3. restarting
4. reinstalling drivers
5. checking new wintab files are present
6. restarting
I updated photoshop (and repeated those 5 steps), reinstalling the drivers as an admin, reset the paintbrush tool, but no matter what I do, when I go to the Shape Dynamics option in Photoshop, I get the triangle with the exclamation point telling me that I need a pressure sensitive tablet.
I've tried plugging the tablet in and then opening photoshop.I've tried opening Photoshop and then plugging in the tablet.I updated the drivers for all of the hardware on my computer.

I've tried the pressure sensitivity in two other (non Adobe) programs and it works there, so it doesn't seem like a problem with the tablet itself.
I have been using bamboo fun with gimp(2.6 or older) for ages without any problems with either one. Today I finally managed to make it into the store and upgrade my tablet to bamboo pen and touch. Also found a new gimp version and decided to get that one as well. I uninstalled all old drivers and the old gimp before installing the new ones
So I got my pen tablet working and gimp 2.8 installed. Everything seemed to be just fine until I tried to add my tablet as an input devise. Gimp just does not show tablet on the list, it wont recognize it's pressure sensitivity or any similar things the tablet is supposed to do. I restarted my computer between installing the drivers and the latest gimp, I restarted after installing gimp. Heck, I've restarted my computer about a dozen times today and still nothing gimp wont find my tablet. I've deleted my old profile data from the .gimp2.6 folder in the uninstalling process so it cant be about that
I tried searching fixes and things that worked for 2.6 but none of those worked for me so here I am. I tried using both the latest drivers and the ones that came with the tablet but neither made gimp recognize the tablet that is working just fine with every other program in existence

As a new gimp and tablet user, I'd had some difficulty making my tablet feel like I wanted it to. After looking at numerous tutorials, I spent a day customizing a brush that would respond well to my tablet's innate pressure sensitivity. The brush worked perfectly that day! Since then, however, I've needed to customize my brushes everyday, and mess with my tablet until the brushes actually respond to pressure sensitivity.I guess the big question is: how do I cause Gimp to recognize my tablet as being pressure sensitive each time I launch it?

I've been working in CS5 using a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet along with the stylus pen. Recently when I am working in CS5 I've noticed that while using the brush tool the little "dot" tends to dissapear while painting. This also happens if I use a short cut ie. brush tool/command key/eyedropper. The only way for the "dot" to return is either to move the pen around the screen, clicking on things until it reappears OR using the magic mouse, but sometimes this doesn't work either.

I am not very knowledgable in Mac or CS5, and I have tried resetting some of the controls, but nothing seems to be working.
Is anyone using the Epson Stylus Photo 890 with Vista 64 bit? I cannot find drivers or profiles for that combination of OS and Printer. I have searched everywhere on the web.I need drivers or this printer is history ( yes it already is history but still works fine otherwise).

Photoshop will print to another printer and the Epson will print from other appllications such as Word. It seem Photoshop and Epson are not communicating properly. The p[rintilng gliltch followed on the heels of Epson printing several images that were nowhere close to the images in Photoshop. recently, I added somw upadtes — a driver and at least one program update. I recently upgraded to CorelDRAW X5 from X4. I'm having problems printing a landscape page to an Epson Stylus Pro 7880. This is a paper roll feeder. No matter what combination of settings I try it will only print portrait orientation. I had zero problems with X4. I have read as many of the previous forum posts I could find on this issue, so I'll add - I don't have a PPD file and the manufacturer does not either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Lightroom 3.6 and an Epson Stylus Photo R800. This printer is capable of printing very high quality pictures, as I know by using it for almost 5 years. I have bought Lightroom about 6 month ago. I have tried anything I can think off to get those fabulus pictures out of my Epson printer. I alterd color managment settings, changed print resolutions, downloaded new printerdriver, ... Nothing works. Print quality when printing from Lightroom is very poor. Bad colors (dark), stripes over the whole image, it looks like nothing realy. One of the things that I noticed is that the maximum resolution for printing in LR is 720 ppi. My Epson is capable of 1550 ppi. I see a lot of discussion going about print quality with lightroom... I think however this is a more basic problem. My print qualiti is realy very very bad...

Note, When I export a picture to .jpg format (I shoot in RAW only), and print this directly from Windows, I do get the perfect picture a was used to... I cannot believe that Lightroom is unable to do the same.
I just got photoshop recently on my new computer, on which I have never installed photoshop before. When I decided to use it for the first time, I started with the text tool, but found when I dragged the box area I wanted, I could not type inside it.
So I went troubleshooting, and no matter what I did the text stubbornly would not show itself. I have deleted and reinstalled fonts. Redownloaded photoshop. Reset preferences.
I have tried every way possible. The short cut, photos, and psd. files and nothing. So I thought, maybe I should uninstall it and reinstall it. Nope! And I even ran Ccleaner, disk clean up and a rgistry cleaner/fixer uper and restarted before reinstalling. It will start to load and then it just drops off with no error message. Not sure what else to try. I have 91% empty space on a 250MB hard drive and more than enough memory so I dont think this is an issue. I havnt made any changes or installed anything that may have caused an issue.

I can paste anything but now when I select images from my layers, there is no option like COPY available in the EDIT tab. Some others seem to be missing to, such as FADE. My PC is definetly capable of running the program as it was for already a week perfectly.

i don't know if this is the right place to post this but im having a problem installing the trial of photoshop cs4 extended. i have vista so when i click setup i right click and chose run as administrator. the window flashes then nothing happens but when i get to task manager it is running as a process.
