Photoshop :: Unsharpen Or High Pass?
Feb 3, 2006I've almost finished the picture but I'll use either unsharpen or high pass. Which do I chose? or you use the another tool from the filter?

View 1 Repliesi have a good grasp of the arcane nuances of unsharp mask, but nothing on high pass filter, So when we select that tool, and what parameters to consider to what end.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes the "high pass sharpening" subdue color saturation of the images? I was creating a photo collage type of art in InDesign. I also used Photoshop to sharpen and resize each individual images.
I used High Pass sharpening with Edge Masks. After readjusting the images in photoshop I saved them with new names and relinked the new file to the InDesign. When I relinked the new image, there was a noticeable degradation of color saturation. The images looked sharper but a lot more grayer or muddish. In photoshop, I didn't change the color space.
So I wondered if the High Pass filter alters the color saturation. Here is the link to my photoshop actions that I used to create the sharpening effect. what caused the color shift in my file
ive looked for a plugin or tutorial but coildn't find any. ok visit this link [URL] and look at steps 14-16.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using PS6 and Elements 11.
1. I import the image from LR
2. I duplicate the layer
3. I go to Filter....High Pass
4. I adjust the gray image to the amount I want to sharpen
5. I then go to hard light in the blend modes to change the gray to the image and nothing happens
6. The image stays gray and will not change..
7. None of the blend modes change the gray image.
8. ?
9. This happens in both programs.
Does this slider work like the radius slider in high-pass filter in PS?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI clicked on the filter and then used the unsharp en mask
I moved the amount to 150% but I think the picture is too sharp and something else.
I have PS 7.0 , I am running dual monitors. When I open my unsharpen filter, i can't find the dialog box. I have the same problem with new adustment layer levels. I have tried moving , hiding tools and can't find the dialog box. I have to end the program through the XP task window. I have never had this problem before any suggestions.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I show high level walkways and balconies (in dashed outline) on the ground floor plan in a high volume space?
Obviously I can turn the first floor RCP on in the view and manually draw the information, but I assume these lines won't move if the walkways above move (or am I wrong?). Also this seems slightly wrong given the amount of automation available.
I am trying to import photos from my computer to Photoshop elements 11. It has imported most but wont import some as "file quality is too high". How do I get around this? Do I have to downgrade the quality of my photos? To do editing wouldn't you want the best quality photos to start off with?
View 6 Replies View Related've been using Photoshop for a while now, since v.5.5. I'm not new to Actions, batches, droplets and the like. However, I've run into the need to process multiple files, in a multitude of ways and seem to be hitting a roadblock.
The current workflow is to take a folder of JPEGs and drop them onto a droplet that turns them into "Antique" look, I repeat the dragging-dropping process again with a Black & White Droplet, then again with a Sepia droplet. Ultimately I'd LOVE to combine the 3 steps into one: dropping the images onto a single droplet (or whatever it takes) and return to have 3 folders full of my derivative images.
My colleagues idea was to add a "revert" step into the original action, do the next steps, revert, etc. This works fine on a SINGLE image—when run solely as Action—but fails when batching because of the saving as a jpeg step.
In older versions of Photoshop there was a very beautiful filter - low pass.
It could make blurry effect to picture. I liked so much to use it on my nature photos.
It was situated in Filters --> Sharpen (if i don`t mistake)
Where is it now? Why it`s not present in new versions of Photoshop (CS and CS2 don`t have it)?
When I assign object Ids to my scene and render out the object ID pass it comes out very stair stepped and chunky. Is there an easy fix?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI really intrigued to getting the Object ID pass in 3ds Max working properly, for EXR workflow.What i want to do is to add a object ID Pass to give me a RGB pass of my objects according to my G-Buffer ID number and object information.
Example ID 1 = red material (R). but for a wired reason I keep getting different colours assigned to my specified objects. URL....
Any clear,full tutorial of a Z-Depth pass. The idea is to have that Pass that shows the close objects white, and gradually goes to black as they are more distant.
Also, how do I apply this in Photoshop, once i have the image?
Mental Ray - 3ds Max 2010.
Nothing more, nothing less.
I installed AutoCAD 2012, under the function, passing data from VBA to LISP, with the 2008 was working perfectly, now with 2012 no longer works.
I read in the Local Variables:
SymbolName ="#ListaNomi" is ok
value ="()" is ok
Sym = Nothing
VL is ok by me "Visual Lisp"
[code]...
I would like to know if i can put pass protection on a block and have no one be able to change thing about the block? So what I mean is I send you a block that has pass protection on it, you can paste it into your drawing but cannot explode it to make some change on it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to capture some VHS tapes to PC. I'm using my Sony camcorder DCR-TRV60E as analog-digital converter. This doesn't seem to work, although it's stated in the manual & all over internet that it should work. I'm not sure, but I think my A/V in is broken. I'm able to hear the audio from the connected analog device, but no video. Also the LCD screen on my camcorder is completly blue (as if it's getting no input). This is what I already tried:
1) VHS player > Camcorder A/V in + reviewed all camcorder settings (A/V -> DV out = on; ...)
2) portable DVD-player > camcorder (DVD has a 1-plug A/V out > 1 plug A/V in camcorder)
I'm thinking that my A/V input on the camcorder is broke. Any way to get confirmation? Or am I (still) missing a setting in the camcorder?
I was aware that VS 11 had a major problem with analogue capture including Pass-through, not owning VS11 was not up to date with the exact problem and tended to steer clear of analogue capture issues. I was not aware that the later version X2 also suffered as I can capture analogue without problems.
This is my procedure using Pass-through Video Studio X2/X3
Old Samsung VHS recorder with RCA cables connected via Smart adapter.
3.5 mm video plug connected to Panasonic GS 400 A/V – In
Firewire from Panasonic DV 4 pin to PC firewire 6 pin
Removed tape from camera. Set Panasonic menu to allow DV-Out. Play VHS tape and capture to X2/X3
I normally use DVD for my VHS capture, X3--DV is also available and captures ok. Using X2 Vcd Svcd and Mpeg are also available as capture formats.
As I say I did not realize the problem extended beyond VS 11.
I have built a vb interface using a tutorial from AU. Now I would like to do the same without the interface.
Inventor uses ilogic to pass parameters to the dll - the dll does the number crunching & returns values to Inventor - no interface required.
The tutorial uses an OK button to fire values back & forth - how can I do this without a button? I would like this to fire in the background without a form appearing.

Gimp does 'select by color' best. But other Editors do something else best.
So I would like to pass the layers around between Editors.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHave been making stuff in corel x5 for a cnc. I recently added text to a design, and the text appears to be a solid, single path. However, when I run my machine, the machine goes around the BORDER of the text, instead of just making a single pass over the text. Instead of just cutting the text in one path, it cuts around the border and the pieces fall from the material I am working on.
How can I change this? I dont want my machine to pass around the inside and outside of simple text, I only need 1 pass.
I am trying to do 2-pass encoding on 640 x 480 Mjpeg.avi 30 fps clips using the free x264vfw codec. The first pass works ok. But when I change the codec config to Multi-pass, I get an error message when I click ok to save it.
