View 4 RepliesDoes the "high pass sharpening" subdue color saturation of the images? I was creating a photo collage type of art in InDesign. I also used Photoshop to sharpen and resize each individual images.
I used High Pass sharpening with Edge Masks. After readjusting the images in photoshop I saved them with new names and relinked the new file to the InDesign. When I relinked the new image, there was a noticeable degradation of color saturation. The images looked sharper but a lot more grayer or muddish. In photoshop, I didn't change the color space.
So I wondered if the High Pass filter alters the color saturation. Here is the link to my photoshop actions that I used to create the sharpening effect. what caused the color shift in my file
i have a good grasp of the arcane nuances of unsharp mask, but nothing on high pass filter, So when we select that tool, and what parameters to consider to what end.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've almost finished the picture but I'll use either unsharpen or high pass. Which do I chose? or you use the another tool from the filter?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if there's a plugin to do a shader effect sort of like this photo. Something almost comic-bookish, using dots and such.I've looked briefly at the grid-based plugins, but haven't come up with anything solid.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Paint.net (love it!) and was messing around with effects and colors when I stumbled upon this one adjustment/edit . That allowed you to select several colors and make a a threshold and other cool effects with only the colors you selected previously. I thought it was really cool, but I didn't save the photo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using PS6 and Elements 11.
1. I import the image from LR
2. I duplicate the layer
3. I go to Filter....High Pass
4. I adjust the gray image to the amount I want to sharpen
5. I then go to hard light in the blend modes to change the gray to the image and nothing happens
6. The image stays gray and will not change..
7. None of the blend modes change the gray image.
8. ?
9. This happens in both programs.
Does this slider work like the radius slider in high-pass filter in PS?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm making some graphics to be printed on a car. I have some lines with outer glow on them, but Illustrator won't render these unless I use 72DPI in raster effects reslution. I would like to go higher, but it won't give me anything. Guessing it's to heavy for Illustrator maybe? Is there anything I can do about this? I'm making my graphics in 1:1 scale, but I do it in a lower scale since it's just vector art anyway, however how would that effect my glow? Since it's a raster effect.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen applying filters such as accented edges, ink outline, etc to a medium sized image (1024x768 or 1280x853) produce some pretty cool results.
However, when applying those same filters to larger images like files with a 5184x3456 resolution, the filters have little to no effect. I'm guessing this is because there are so many more pixels that altering each pixel has a less noticeable effect.
You can see an example here with the accented edges filter run over a smaller version of a picture I took, and then a larger one (that was then downsized to make it viewable): [URL]
The 1280x853 one looks pretty cool. On the larger 5184x3456 version the filter had almost no noticeable effect.
The problem is that I want the cool looking version like is seen in the 1280x853 version, but at a high enough resolution to print on a large canvas that is, say, 40' x 40' or so. Is it possible to get the bigger image to look like the smaller one without losing the resolution required to print it on a canvas that large? I've been trying to figure this out for weeks now...
I have a screen splited to 4 and a shoot is played in each one. I would like to put a Filter of Effect that will take one of this pieces and zoom it in till it will fill the complete screen. Just today I noticed a similar video in the Corels site where the introduce the VS X5.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI used to have a DeltaE calculator which I downloaded free from the Internet, but it does not seem to be available any longer.
The idea was to type in the Lab specification for two colour samples, then the calculator would come up with the difference between them expressed in units of Delta E.
I have found a calculator which requires Photoshop CS, but I cannot locate a free-standing version.
I want to be able to define a "freeform shape" by clicking random coordinates and close the shape with a right click. (similar to words draw shape command). Is there an addon for this?
I also want this added capability in the "Lasso" function. Instead of dragging to random locations, just clicking on interim points where straight line segments are needed.
The PSP X4 that I have compresses jpegs to an extreme amount even when set on compression factor 1. (a 4000 kb jpeg gets compressed to 1900kb. The previous versions would not change the compression when you open a file and just save it without changes. This one cuts the file size in more than half.
I really like some of the new layout and features, however my clients won't accept a jpeg that is compressed that much. Any other setting I need to change to stop this?
Im getting married and took some pictures with my fiance so we can create a save the date to send out. Her brother was the photographer who has a very expensive and high quality camera. Took those pictures and opened them in paint.net. these pictures open up to be about 75 by 45. I might be trying to do the impossible but im trying to get it down to be able to fit on a 4x6 picture but everytime and way i try it always seem to pixelate it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor production artwork, I need to create a High-Res PDF file.
I know I could use a PDF printer to create the .pdf file. The problem I'm having, is that they provided me with a template, which also is a .PDF file.
I need to import this template into paint.net so I can paint over it. Is there a way to open .PDF files and maintain their dimensions (>300 DPI)
They mentioned: Certified High Resolution PDF files with norm PDF/x-1a:2001
I've just started using Paint.Net, primarily for pixel work. I needed a program that had the curve line tool but with extra features than the ones provided in Microsoft Paint. But it seems that I've came to a problem, the lines are anti-aliased, even at 1 pixel big. I was wondering if there was a option to turn the aliasing off for the line/curve tool.
View 1 Replies View RelatedPhoto paint uses an absurd amount of CPU when drawing a line; the brush "lags" and stutters about the screen, too. My system CPU is a Core i7-2600k, and all 8 threads are maxed during the drawing of the line. Why would this be?

How do I show high level walkways and balconies (in dashed outline) on the ground floor plan in a high volume space?
Obviously I can turn the first floor RCP on in the view and manually draw the information, but I assume these lines won't move if the walkways above move (or am I wrong?). Also this seems slightly wrong given the amount of automation available.
i'm using my corelphoto paint x3 for a year now and it is working fyn then on one occassion i don't know but while editing an image, i suddenly discovered that my effect tools, paint tools, clone tools wont work or wont make changes on the image i'm editing... i've already checked the menus and settings but still no work..i also tried reinstalling the program but still it's all the same..
