Photoshop :: Small Layer Thumbnails / How To Make Them Bigger
Oct 27, 2012I find it difficult to 'see' the small layer thumbnails, they can be made larger or magnified when I run the mouse over.

View 1 RepliesThere are some pictures from a friends wedding in lightroom who are missing/ offline. The problem is that the pictures aren't on my computer or memory card anymore and I already tried a data recovery with Disk Drill. Unfortunately the pictures (documents) which have been found by Disk Drill, are damaged and can't be opened. So the pictures are really gone.
But now I was looking in Lightroom (i've uploaded the pictures with Lightroom in the first place) and I see that the thumbnails are from a reasonable quality. That's why I am wondering if it's possible to larger the thumbnails without losing quality/ pixels. Of course I already tried a few things (SmillaEnlarger & some things in Photoshop), but unfortunately the pictures are still very bad.
Or is there any other way to get this pictures back? I still got the catalogus from Lightroom where the pictures where.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just learnt to use Adobe Illustrator , the basics anyway. I am able to manipulate the size of the logo to almost scale in Illustrator. However, when I save the logo in JPEG/PNG for the web its always coming out smaller than i would like it to and i cant seem to get it to the size i want.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you're working with a lot of clips in a library and you're trying to select multiple thumbnails and ctrl +alt +drag to resize them, it's WAY too sensitive. It's like you need to click and drag in just the right spot or you're deselecting your group. It's taking me about 20 attempts to do this simple task.
Selecting the clips in the library appears to work better than ctrl + clicking them on the desktop.
Why don't my paper space thumbnails seem to be saving as 1024 pixels? Drawings that are saved while model space is active do save as 1024 pixels, so the problem only occurs when the thumbnails are a snapshot of a layout sheet. Changing the "Thumbsize" variable has no effect, and I can see the file size doesn't change either, even though the thumbnail is clearly updating because I can see little geometry changes. But when the thumbnail is of model space, then the "Thumbsize" variable works exactly as I'd expect.
To be specific, I'm referring to the preview pane of Win7's Windows File Explorer. As I increase the size of the preview pane, the thumbnail stays tiny-literally the size of my thumb. This makes the preview pane significantly less useful.
My maxium thumbnail pixel size "Thumbsize" is set to 1024. My "Updatethumbnail" is set to 16 (it was 15 originally but I don't even know what a 15 value does).
The attached drawing is saved as an AutoCAD 2010 file (AC1024):
I have a block containing several parts blocks. When I explode the main block all of the parts are exploded back to lines. I have used both "explode" and "xplode" and have the same results. How can I explode so I have my components as blocks?

I have Photoshop CS3.
I have an image it is on my computer, I am being told it nees to be larger, Hi-Res , and 300dpi. I do not know what any of that means with the exception of bigger. I do not know anything about photoshop either. Is it possible to make a photo bigger, hi res and 300 dpi?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a client who would like to create a banner that is 6x5 feet. She supplied me with a very high quality photo that she'd like printed on the banner. Ideally, it would fill up most of the banner. The file size of the photo is 670 mb. In Photoshop's "Image Size" window, it says that it's 12960 x 8640 pixels, 36 x 24 inches, and 360 ppi.
Is there some way to make this photo display larger, short of taking a new photo with a higher resolution? What happens if I up the resolution in the "Image Size" window?
Also wondering why this file would be 670 mb but only 36x24 inches in size... It doesn't seem to add up to me.
way to make 4 white diamonds within a bigger yellow diamond. I try to make an big diamond by rotating a square 45 degrees. No problem there but whey I make the smaller diamonds out of squares and try to put them into the larger diamond it is all messed up?

I want to join 2 images together to make a bigger image, the easiest way to explain it is, say 1 image is 10cm x 5cm and the other is 18cm X 7cm and I want to put both together to make a new image 14cm X 10cm. They need resizing too.

Join (NOT merge) them like this;

Is there a way to make the color picker in the toolbar bigger?
I've been using Illustrator for some time now and find this part of the software to be annoying as I frequently mis-click this tiny area and the switching between foreground and background color is easily mismanaged and you end up changing the colour of the one you didn't intend and then have to make two clicks to remedy that.
Do any other users find this to be a badly designed part of the software? Also, when in the colour creation dialogue the 'preview' tick can somehow be switched to on as default.
I can understand that there are situations where it might be better not to see your colour change in the document in real time, but to have to click this (again very small) tick box again and again feels like bad design.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to make the dimension get bigger and smaller as we “scale” the drawing?
For example, the drawing in the screenshot below is scaled by 0.5 but that didn’t affect the “size” of the dimension (height of the text, extension lines, …).
Is there a way to get the dimension line affected as we scale the drawing such that the “dimension text” and the “extension line” are increased/ decreased with the scale factor?
Software: AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD C3D, AutoCAD M3D, Revit
Windows 7 (Ultimate 64 bits),
Firefox 20.0,
Kaspersky 2013.
I was watching a J. Kost flash turorial and she selected the option to change the size of layer thumbnails and the options showed samples next to the size selection circles. When I went to change the size of my layer thumbnails all I saw were selection circles and no size sample pictures next to them. Is that a PC vs Mac thing or is something missing from my version of CS4? I believe I saw thumbnail sample sizes in CS3.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been messing around in PSCS2 off,
and I noticed that the thumbnail images on the layer palette aren't rendering when I make a change to the layer.
They're just a bunch of black dots on a white background.
I have a big assembly. It used to have aprox 280kB.
I have created the five flexible assemblies and it grew up to 2100KB and became
quite slow even with a lot of supressed parts.
The question is: should I blame the flexible stuff for this slowup?
In previous versions of Photoshop it was possible to recognize adjustment layers by their thumbnails, in CS4 that has been removed except for gradients, patterns and solid color.
I find that a wrong move. Thumbnails are handy, they allow you to quickly see where you've used your different adj. layers (useful if you've a big fan of non-destructive editign like me). The only thing that is left is the names, but
a) names don't view as fast as icons
b) it basically limits you of using names, because once you do, you have no clue what the layer is unless you click on it
why remove the different icons and turn it one and the same?
about the appearance of adjustment layer thumbnails or icons. At times when I create an adjustment layer the thumbnail comes in as I expect ie a levels adjustment layer shows the scale icon. But at other times the layer will show a circle that is half black and half white like the add adjustment layer icon at the bottom of the layers palette.
I can?t figure out why this happens or what triggers it to change. It has no impact on the functioning of the layers it is just annoying and I like to see the correct thumbnails so I can tell what kind of layer it is at a glance.
I run two different PC's w/ PS 7.
On one, in the Layers palette, next to the "eye" that turns layers on and off, a thumbnail image shows for each layer making it very easy to identify the layer you are working on.
On my other PC, the thumbnail is not there.
What setting must I change? How do I turn that thumbnail on?
If I have a set of images I want to make a quick print of on an 8x10 sheet, as thumbnails, is there an easy automated way to do this (short of creating my own action which manually places thumbnails side by side)?
