View 1 RepliesI am setting up some photos that will be exported as png files for use in Publisher.
I need grungy photo edges to be transparent so her background shows through the grunge effect.
I have PDF map created with latest PDF Creator. Originally it was made with GIS software Geo Media Professional (v6). Document looks good while previewing with Reader. When importing to Photoshop CS5 - looks good to (but raster). But when I'm trying to import it to CorelDrawX5 strange things happens:
Import takes a lot of time After hitting [Enter] file (group name.pdf) origin is about 5000mm;6400mm (width 45720mm, height 45720mm) - so it is definitely far from any page and much much bigger than original - in this case original was 2500mm width and 1067mm height landscape prepared to print on HP DesignJet 800PS 42'' roll hitting F4 - max range warning appears. I was trying to move group somewhere in visible work area using X,Y - strange results - negative position appears after hitting Enter
In CorelDRAW X4 I didn't get such "feature". There is no additional font embedded in document (ARIAL, HELVETICA).
I have several vector images made up into one large image in a cdr file & i am working in mm
What the easiest & best way to convert my one large image to pixels??
When I export my work to .jpg format all is OK. All looks fine on desktop. But when I try to print it there are several dark pixels allover the picture. It looks like snow or TV noise. I tried different picture fixing programs, but nothing... How can I remove that noise?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn my image adjustment dialog (photopaint X5 Brightness/Contrast/Intensity) the image is far too small.
The actual image is about 5.5" x 2.8" and in normal view is fine. when I open the dialog to adjust the whole image is collapsed into a few pixels.
I have shutdown and restarted Photopaint but the problem is still the same.
I have an image it is on my computer, I am being told it nees to be larger, Hi-Res , and 300dpi. I do not know what any of that means with the exception of bigger. I do not know anything about photoshop either. Is it possible to make a photo bigger, hi res and 300 dpi?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a client who would like to create a banner that is 6x5 feet. She supplied me with a very high quality photo that she'd like printed on the banner. Ideally, it would fill up most of the banner. The file size of the photo is 670 mb. In Photoshop's "Image Size" window, it says that it's 12960 x 8640 pixels, 36 x 24 inches, and 360 ppi.
Is there some way to make this photo display larger, short of taking a new photo with a higher resolution? What happens if I up the resolution in the "Image Size" window?
Also wondering why this file would be 670 mb but only 36x24 inches in size... It doesn't seem to add up to me.
Say for example *cough cough* I have a photo of a kid wearing a santa hat. How would I turn the rest of the photo black and white (well, grayscale) while leaving the hat's red color alone? Seems to me there should be an easier way than masking off the area, duplicating as a new object and then desaturating the background. But is there?

I would like to cut out an oval shaped photo and insert it into the corner of a larger photo. The question is I would like the edge of the oval photo to fade away so it has a soft edge. How to I achieve this edge.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been working with both Corel Draw 12 and and at some point Photo Paint just froze. Empty main area, just one docker opened. Doesn't matter where I click on the screen, the same metallic clicking response. I uninstalled the whole suite and installed it again.
No difference, the same screen starts and the same freeze. I can only close it using Task Manager. Corel Draw works find and Photo Paint works fine on the other computer on which I installed it at the same time.

View 3 Replies View RelatedBrushes are wonderful tools.
I would like to be able to design my own artistic brushes. I understood tha I can drop an object or group in the artistic media docker and it becomes a custom brush or spray. I did it and it works well. nevertheless, controlling the size, spray spacing, etc looks like a bit tricky. Is there some reference where I could get more information on "how to make my own brushes"
I have a logo which appears in the footers of all of our technical manuals. Word recognizes it as a picture, and so our printer prints it in color, not black and white, so we are charged for the color copies.
I have exhausted my options in Word, and have been trying to create it as a TrueType font in DRAW, so word just thinks it's a symbol, not a picture.
The only file I have of the logo is a .bmp, so I've been tracing it to get it into vector form to manipulate. However, after all of my welding, combining, front minus back ect. ect. ect., I still can't get it down to the "1 object" requirement to make it a font.
Here's the logo:
if I create a new document, say A4, and then import a TIFF photo to that document, the photo appears much larger than my background A4 document. So, do I edit my photo and then export it as a TIFF again, or should I resize my background document from A4 to match the size of my photo before exporting? What I'm asking is that I don't want to lose the original size of my TIFF image, so when I export my image will CD save the TIFF image in it's original size or resize it to that of my created A4 document?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time I double click on a bitmap in Corel Draw, it opens up Photo Paint. How can I disable this option? I never use it and its a waste of my time because it takes too long to load up! I don't know if my mouse has a problem, but sometimes I can just click once on a bitmap and it triggers the photo paint to open.

View 2 Replies View RelatedPhoto paint uses an absurd amount of CPU when drawing a line; the brush "lags" and stutters about the screen, too. My system CPU is a Core i7-2600k, and all 8 threads are maxed during the drawing of the line. Why would this be?

I posted this topic about Corel x4 and got some answers. Unfortunately it didnt work because my corel was corrupt. But now I installed my old Corel 12 and tried to follow the instructions the same way as they told me to do it in Corel x4, but the options are different.
So..... how do i make the settings so that when i double click on an image in corel 12, it will take me directly to Corel Photo for editing.

I need to make lines of different thicknesses, with arrowheads. However, when I increase the line width the arrowhead should not be proportional. It need to stay a bit smaller.
Example: if the line is expanded to "Thick 3", I need the arrow keeps equivalent to "Thick 2" - for aesthetic reasons.I can do edit as I show in the bottom of the sample picture.
However, I need to build HUNDREDS of arrows of different sizes. Is there any way (Macro function?) permitting I enlarge/reduce line thickness and allowing me to edit the arrow without changing the line thickness?
Important Note: Is not enough I edit some arrows and save them as a kind of Template, then import them to work. The arrows have different ways in thickness and may be straight, curved, winding, etc.. Hence the need to edit the edges easily.
I was asked how to make a honeycomb pattern during the Meet the Master session on facebook. Here is a quick short tutorial on making patterns, specifically the honeycomb pattern in DRAW.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble making fonts using X4. I've found the export "ttf" filter, and the dialog opens for my first letter, which allows me to assign the ASCII position, and that works out fine. A TTF file is created, with that letter shown. However, when I try to export the next object for the next letter, instead of simply opening the assigning dialog for the next object, so as to add to the file, it goes to the dialog asking me to name the file, and when I do, Corel crashes.
