I have a big assembly. It used to have aprox 280kB.
I have created the five flexible assemblies and it grew up to 2100KB and became
quite slow even with a lot of supressed parts.
The question is: should I blame the flexible stuff for this slowup?
I was never good using the pen, and I need only the bird of this image, I need to vectorize it, and make it bigger...So I can change color, size, etc...I need it only bigger.

I am doing a drawing on inventor and everything is going great except for the fact that the dimensions are hard to read because they are so small. Is there any way to make the font for the dimensions bigger.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy assembly has grown (about 50 parts) to where I need to consolodate some parts into subassemblies for reuse and alternate iterations of the basic design.
When I import the original parts into a new assembly, all of the constrains I created are not there of course.
I've tried creating a new empty part and then deriving a new part from the assembly, but I can't add, delete or edit any parts.
I looked at using Shrinkwrap, Substitutes, iParts, Multi-body Parts, and Multiple Solids but I remain confused.
In retrospect, maybe I should have created the subassemblies between the part and assembly stage but I didn't.
inventor 2013- single user
working with an assembly of about 100 parts
file was working fine until about the last large componet i am working on.
when I edit a part and then hit return the ("excuting end edit componet " in lower left hand ) it seems to take some time to compute. This part i have a lot of sketches that are tide to other componets to create the postion of those. so i think this is the reason. i supressed this compent and the file got about 75% better so I am thinking that this is my issue.
for example when i need to make a cut out in one compent that is overlaying another I create a construction projection of the componet and then use this to off set or create a feature from that so that if I change the other one it changes the cut out. I am thinking the computer is having to figure out what is changing everytime.
I'm a contractor, I've created a really impressive form-driven assembly containing various iLogic rules. However, as i add more rules it is beginning to slow down (increase rule processing time). Should I suggest upgrading to 64-bit and increasing RAM?..could be costly with no increase in performance.

I have an assembly (ex: test1.iam) that have many parts.
There are 2 of them, that I what to make only one assembly, and I would like them to stay in same the position as in test1.iam.
How do I do that?
I just download the AutoDesk Inventor 2012 but I didn't use this software before. I just download an example and refer youtube to create my own parts. But when I place all parts together, i.e. assemble all parts, I find that the parts are not looks good because the size either too big or too small. I try the whole afternoon but I still can't find the way to change the size of an individual component.
View 9 Replies View Relatedwhat kind of work flow I can use to make an assembly adaptive as possible..I need to make a machine fixture that requires cut outs for three parts. The fixture is made from a 8" x 5" x 0.19" thk piece of UHMW. I've made the "blank" and it features the work planes I need to place the three parts that the cut outs are derived from.
At first I just started the assembly and placed the parts where they should be and then used sketched outlines to define the cuts. However, since the parts are there they get "cut" as well.
I was wondering if I could make adaptive sketches linked to these parts and then import THEM into the correct plane. I could then use them to define the cuts.
find out a way to make some sort of parametric assembly.
Where I work, we make conveyors and those conveyors need legs. Those legs are all built the same except for the height and width. They are made of 2 tubes with a cross shaft between them + bolts, washer, plastic end cap.Is it possible to create some sort of iassembly or ipart for this? When creating a conveyor I would like to choose the height and width of those legs when I import them into the assembly.

The file that I get is rather small. Saving the same file after using audit and -purge commands will make it larger, I don't get it.

Sometimes an assembly file can become really very big.
Try to delete all components, all custom ViewReps, Positional Representations and Level of Details and save the file. If the file empty is till very big, then this post might be interesting.

I need a macro to make the change in the assembly. You need to replace Part1-04 to Part2-04. Which method should apply for this?
Is there a way to have inventor make each part in an assembly have a different color? I like to work in assemblies like this because it is easier to tell the parts from each other. It's just time-consuming to go through and change everything if the assembly was designed with realistic colors. I am thinking there might be a macro for this, but I don't have much experience with macros so idk.
(extra brownie points if the method has the capability of reverting back to realistic colors)

I am currently working on a parametric assembly using i Logic to control the size of the components as well as patterns. However, I have hit a road block in trying to figure out how to write a rule for resizing the last roof sheet in this assembly pictured below to be even with the frame. The rule below is what controls the roof sheet pattern based on the frame length. The problem I am continually running into is how do you modify a part which is in an element within the pattern without having it affect the rest of the parts in the pattern since they all refer to part. I can get since it is hard to find information on i Logic.

How to make the dimension get bigger and smaller as we “scale” the drawing?
For example, the drawing in the screenshot below is scaled by 0.5 but that didn’t affect the “size” of the dimension (height of the text, extension lines, …).
Is there a way to get the dimension line affected as we scale the drawing such that the “dimension text” and the “extension line” are increased/ decreased with the scale factor?

I am trying to design a banner for a client, that is 20 feet long.And when I highlight the text and make it 500, 600 pt its fins but as soon as I try and change to 700 or 800, it completely disappears and you cannot see the font.Why cant I do bigger than 600?

In the AutoCAD, while working, we can choose “Shift+Right Click” to get the list of snap options to choose a particular snap. How this might be performed in the Revit?
Also, I’m not sure how to get the snap size to be abit bigger. For example, the cross in the screenshot below is quite small and has no accompanying tips to indicate its function.
When I'm rendering some video for example about 10 second with simply effects it gives me much more file size about 5 gb but video is 10 second without some particle effects why? URL....

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I double-click on a component in an assembly to edit it, the rest of the assembly becomes transparent (or translucent is a more accurate term). Is there a way to create a visual style (or use some other method) to make the entire assembly translucent like this, just as I'm working with the assembly performing all the usual assembly-type operations? For example, I can operate under the "Shaded" visual style, or the "Wireframe" visual style, or the "Monochrome" visual style.
Is there some way to work with a "Translucent" visual style so that I can see the internals of my assembly as I'm placing parts, applying constraints, etc.?
I am using Photoshop CS3, my printer is a HP Photosmart D5160.
I created something in A4 size (21cm x 29.7cm, 300 dpi). But when I print it using the borderless option. the printout always have about 10mm missing on the right hand side and the bottom of the page, as if the image is too big to fit in the A4 paper... I've tried with "scale to paper size" checked and unchecked. But still no help.
I made a small image with the image size of 95mm x 65mm, but the printout is 105 x 75....

If I make it bigger I will lose quality but are there any way of for example find the different grayscale nyans and make it bigger. its only in two colous. or maybe transfer it to vector?
so I can have it in bigger size without loosing any quality?
2) then if I want to flip the colours in the scetch so all the black colours are going white and so on. how do I do that?

Basically, I have one text size in the model space, say 20, and one text size in the paperspace, say 0.008. These are dramatically different. I assume that the reason is due to scale, because your model could be enormous etc, and therefore it makes sense to have such a small font size in the model space.
The problem I'm really having is that I use the same dimstyle in the model space as in the paper space because sometimes I will dimension in the model space and sometimes in the paper space.
