how to make a dollar ($) sign in the "aqua" style found on OSX buttons. I've been able to locate tutorials on how to make the aqua button, but not on how to apply this style to a more complex shape.

Specifically, on step 2 it says "Now Ctrl+Click on your text layer to select it, and make a new layer above it. Go to select/modify/contract and use a value of 5. " Whenever I do this I get an error indicating "No Pixels Were Selected." Although the "running ants" selection border is active on my text?
I'm looking to create my own version of wallpaper that resembles the aqua style default wallpapers for the Mac OS x. Does anyone have a tutorial or know how do do this? I've played around with making curves with the pen tool and applying effects, but I can't seem to make it look as convincing as the original (attached).

I have tried the tab key, the 'F' key, view > screen mode and window > arrange and none of them have worked and I cant find anything online.
Photoshop cc started to ask me to sign in before starting the program, but, when i'm sure my email and password is correct and my internet connection is on, it can't seem to sign in, no matter how much i clicked 'sign in' it won't sign in. it's says that i need to connect to the internet, but i'm already connected. in the end photoshop won't start up.

I am running PS CC on Win 7 Pro, 64-bit and am 4 months into a one-year subscription. Ever since I started usiing the CC version (was using CS4 Web Premium), I have intermittently gotten weird startup messages like "You have 0 days left on your trial (?) version", "You have only 65535 days left on your trial version", "You need to register/activate your trial version" and "This Adobe ID has already been used to activate the software on two other computers".
Earlier today, I ran the Abobe Cloud app on my PC and updated the software (Abobe Cloud only, not PS CC). Ever since then, I get a continuous "This Adobe ID..." message -- I can't get into PS CC at all. And, by the way, the "two other computers" part is completely bogus -- I have activated it on one computer only.
Note: I live in an extremely rural area, up in the mountains with not exactly the fastest internet service (total bandwidth for the entire community is 20 M-bit), which may be giving the Adobe software indigestion, I don't know...

For two days when I try to sign in within Elements 10, it freezes up showing the Signing In dialog. The only way out is using the Task Manager. I'm running Vista. I can sign in using my browser so my ID and pswd are OK.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recorded an action to create a transparent image on a batch of photos. Next I ran the image processor using the File/Scripts/image processor. When running the action the error message occurs no matter how many ways I attempt to modify the action. Error: The object "Style "Shape Style"" is not currently available.
I then look in the action window to check and under the steps Make Fill Layer: Style: Shape, Style 1 appears but I can't delete it. This one error message makes it impossible for me to image process a batch of photos with a watermark on them.
Can I use my Photoshop CC license on any computer from where I sign in to the Creative Cloud?

View 2 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop CC today opens Adobe Application Manager, says "Sign in Required", but with correct info gives error message. Also, CC desktop not working. I haven't had any problem in the previous two months. I also was just build two weeks ago, and had to update my billing information. I tried online chat, after 30 minutes of typing, I've been disconnected twice. The funny thing is, Photoshop CC does open, and it works fine. I'm on a Mac running the latest operating system and hardware.
