View 1 Replies View RelatedMy web slice tool has gone mad...I've taken Adobe CS5.5 off the computer but still having problems. I guess I have a setting messed up.
Â
1. Although I have chosen to save file as JPG, everything is saving in GIF.Â
2. After reinstall, still having problem #1 but some slices with system chosen names are not saving at all but present at time of web save, named and set up as Picture.
Â
I took all the slices off and redid the thing several twice and it's still only saving slices I name and only in GIF.
I have looked under the crop tool and ALL the other tools and nada. So have i got a bogus piece of junk?? without it PS 5.5 and 6.0 are useless. yes I have the extended versions of both. why spend all that money to do nothing I need.
View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery time I use the tool I end up with little slivers of images all over the place. It seems i can't get the slices close enough or I'm just plan doing it wrong.
I want to stop the slivers, and I want to slice particular items.
I've looked under crop. I have a creative cloud subscription.
View 2 Replies View RelatedStarted a trial with Photoshop V11 and I'm having troubles with slicing. Firstly the slice tool isn't in my toolbox, and secondly when I press K which I think is the correct shortcut key - my cursor changes to a circle with a line through it (banned).
It is happening on any PSD file that I'm opening.
If I try saving for Web and using the slice tool which is on that toolbar, I can create a box around something but as soon as I finish dragging with the mouse the square disappears. It is as if I really am banned from slicing -
I have an attached psd file. I want to create a web site. This is what I want to do, I want to click on "Home", and I want a web site to appear on the body or "slice 8", but whenever I click on "Home" the whole page is replaced by the link and the menu is gone. I really appreciate it, if you can look into my file and show me the way.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having a little problem exporting images that I slice up and put links into. I'm trying to make a website but it does not allow script and the only way I know how to export it so that the links work is as a .swf file. Is there any other way to do it so that it does not have to run on script or no? I am using Photoshop CS2 and ImageReady to export it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've looked around and haven't found a "how to" on how to make a simple photo into a large poster 3' x 4' or larger. I know there must be an easy way to do this.
There is a nice site called "blockposters" but they have a 1 meg limit on file size. So a large poster would be very bitmaped. I figure I can take 8 meg pictures of my kids or an activity in school and really blow it up.
I also want to be able to pick the print size of each panel 3 x 4 up to 8 x 11.
way to get rid of the two gray boxes the slice tool leaves behind?

Question:
How can I get the slice tool to "obey" request for requested number of rows and columns or pixel values for rows and columns?
Â
Elaboration:
The Slice tool in CS6 Photoshop will not "obey" my request for number of rows and columns, or pixel values for rows and columns.I use the Slice tool in Photoshop to prepare small square images for use in a mosaic creation application. The squares are 64x64 or 32x32 pixels.I crop my image to a multiple of 64 or 32 pixels on each side and right click with the slice tool.I have a hard time getting the slice tool to generate more than 10 rows horizontal and vertical. For example if I have an i age 1280x1280 pixels and try to get a division of 20 rows and 20 columns, I end up with columns 256 pixels and rows of 64 pixels.I can try entering number of rows and columns numerically or specify pixel values in the row and column, but either approach will not give me the square slices I ask for.
I'm trying to slice an image using the filter-web-slice function but I was wondering if there is a way to customize the function or change its properties in the Python-Fu. I need gimp to slice by columns (start in the top left corner slice each grid down the column then proceed to the next column. Right now all I can get gimp to do is cut by rows. Normally gimps function would be fine but I need the image labeled a particular way so I can use the individual files in a map for a game. I'm making a 118 images so renaming them by hand would take too long.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwas working on a grapic in photoshop 7. The slice tool in PS had the 2 option "slice tool" and "slice select tool" but when i move into image ready from my current work and wanted to combine 2 slices, i only had the "slice tool" in my tools area.
The "slice select tool" which needs to be active to complete my action, is missing. pls help.. I tried resetting my tools but still no sign. The biggest question is how come it shows up in PS and not in imageready?
just wanted to know the purpose of masking... i want to design cd covers for bands in the future, so just started using photoshop recently....

View 8 Replies View RelatedPurpose of the Layer Boundary. First, it took me a long time to figure out what that pesky yellow and black dotted/dashed line was. Â
gimp_dotted_line.jpg (57.29K)
I noticed I could kind of move it around, but then I couldn't paint outside the line which made me think that it was some kind of mask. I checked my channels and layers and couldn't find where it was. I somehow found its name, Layer Boundary, which led me to the Layer to Image Size option. It's a nice option and allowed me to reset the Layer Boundary whenever it got too crazy. But now I'm wondering why this Layer Boundary even exists. In my eyes, if I wanted a potential Layer Boundary, I would just create a mask and work within that boundary.
I have looked on the web and in some books I have and I don't understand the purpose for turning panels on and off or what it does. I see that the features are unusable when they are off. I understand why I would want to hide a panel.
Does it turn off any changes I made using that certain panel? What does it do?
I am running Lightroom 4.4 on Windows 7x64. I have heard that under preferences its better to uncheck the box that says "store presets with catalog" because it is better to have the presets not tied to and/or embedded in a specific catalog.
However, I noticed that whether the box is unchecked or checked, the presets are always stored in their own subfolder separate from the catalog. Specifically, if the box is checked the path is: "C: Drive"->Lightroom, if the box is unchecked the path is: "C: Drive"->Users->"username"->AppData->Roaming->Adobe->Lightroom. So the presets are not embedded in the catalog file in either case, they are just stored in subfolders in different places (albeit in one case it seems user specific and in another it seems global). So what is the real point of the "store presets with catalog" checkbox?
I want to use my Ipad 2 to show people pictures that I have taken. I am not certain as to the best workflow for doing this. I store all my pictures on external hard drives and am hoping to avoid bringing processed photos onto my computer hard drive. I have done a search on the forum and have not seen a recommended work flow.Â

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've recently gotten into the craze of writing an ebook for the Amazon Kindle and decided to design my own ebook cover. The biggest problem I've come upon is the shrinkage of the image for preview purposes when people are browsing the Kindle selection.
The original size of my image is 2000 x 1200 (the recommended 1 to .6 ratio for Kindle covers). The book looks great in the original size, but when shrunk down to about 100 x 60, the text becomes pixelated. I've tried the various font styles (mostly sticking to the sans-serif), but all have the pixelated look. I use the built-in text tool for paint.net. I tried making the text as larger as possible across the book cover, but the text still looks pixelated.
Is there a plugin for text that is used for ebook covers to 'merge' them into the cover images to blend in more and not look so sharp?
Here are two versions of my ebook cover. The Original Size can be found here.

1. I made a box 100(W)X100(D)X20(H) with 2xR20 (mm) fillets at the opposite edges.
2. I copied a box I made for making 2 type mesh.
3. I made mesh on the box without "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.
Node number: 2374
Element number: 1365
4. I made mesh another model with "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.
Node number: 2374 (same number, not increase)
Element number: 1365
Mesh shape is different(please refere attachiment jpeg file).
I think that "Create Curved Mesh Element option" is not for making second tetrahedron elements. But I cnanot the true porpose of "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option. For only P method, not H method?
i was wondering how to slice a site layout anyone got a easy way or doing it ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI often work on items for the web that I want to slice, but I need to slice them in layers. For instance, a background image, then some transparent PNGs to be placed on top of the background.
If I have everything laid our properly in Photoshop, then the layer items all overlap. I can turn off layers and export the background as one slice, then turn off the bkgrd and turn on a foreground item and create a slice for that... and so on. But if I want to go back and re-export the background (due to a change) the overlapping slices cause it to now break up into multiple pieces.
I can separate the layered items so that they are off to the side and the slices no longer overlap, but now any adjustments in the layout are hard to make because everything is all separated out. Is there a way to handle leaving the slices overlapped but not have them break up at export?
Is there a way to create a selection from a slice in CS5?Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs you can see the white box has an outer glow on it's edges to create a shadow effect. Take a look at this next image:
The first one is a simple GIF version. The second is a GIF put on top of a black background (since the forums page color is white) to show you that the shadows were not transparent. Without the background color there, the edges should be transparent but they are not. If I turn Matte off it still isn't smooth as it should be. Is there any way I can get the shadow to have a transparent background? I thought of using PNG's but they aren't supported by many browsers properly.
