Aug 23, 2012My web slice tool has gone mad...I've taken Adobe CS5.5 off the computer but still having problems. I guess I have a setting messed up.

1. Although I have chosen to save file as JPG, everything is saving in GIF.Â
2. After reinstall, still having problem #1 but some slices with system chosen names are not saving at all but present at time of web save, named and set up as Picture.

I took all the slices off and redid the thing several twice and it's still only saving slices I name and only in GIF.

Aug 19, 2012I have looked under the crop tool and ALL the other tools and nada. So have i got a bogus piece of junk?? without it PS 5.5 and 6.0 are useless. yes I have the extended versions of both. why spend all that money to do nothing I need.

Dec 9, 2008Started a trial with Photoshop V11 and I'm having troubles with slicing. Firstly the slice tool isn't in my toolbox, and secondly when I press K which I think is the correct shortcut key - my cursor changes to a circle with a line through it (banned).
It is happening on any PSD file that I'm opening.
If I try saving for Web and using the slice tool which is on that toolbar, I can create a box around something but as soon as I finish dragging with the mouse the square disappears. It is as if I really am banned from slicing -

This is what I want to do, I want to click on "Home", and I want a web site to appear on the body or "slice 8", but whenever I click on "Home" the whole page is replaced by the link and the menu is gone. I'm trying to make a website but it does not allow script and the only way I know how to export it so that the links work is as a .swf file. Is there any other way to do it so that it does not have to run on script or no? I am using Photoshop CS2 and ImageReady to export it.

Feb 28, 2008I've looked around and haven't found a "how to" on how to make a simple photo into a large poster 3' x 4' or larger. I know there must be an easy way to do this.
There is a nice site called "blockposters" but they have a 1 meg limit on file size. So a large poster would be very bitmaped. I figure I can take 8 meg pictures of my kids or an activity in school and really blow it up.
I also want to be able to pick the print size of each panel 3 x 4 up to 8 x 11.

The Slice tool in CS6 Photoshop will not "obey" my request for number of rows and columns, or pixel values for rows and columns.I use the Slice tool in Photoshop to prepare small square images for use in a mosaic creation application. The squares are 64x64 or 32x32 pixels.I crop my image to a multiple of 64 or 32 pixels on each side and right click with the slice tool.I have a hard time getting the slice tool to generate more than 10 rows horizontal and vertical. For example if I have an i age 1280x1280 pixels and try to get a division of 20 rows and 20 columns, I end up with columns 256 pixels and rows of 64 pixels.I can try entering number of rows and columns numerically or specify pixel values in the row and column, but either approach will not give me the square slices I ask for.

Sep 11, 2012I'm trying to slice an image using the filter-web-slice function but I was wondering if there is a way to customize the function or change its properties in the Python-Fu. I need gimp to slice by columns (start in the top left corner slice each grid down the column then proceed to the next column. Right now all I can get gimp to do is cut by rows. Normally gimps function would be fine but I need the image labeled a particular way so I can use the individual files in a map for a game. I'm making a 118 images so renaming them by hand would take too long.

Mar 31, 2007was working on a grapic in photoshop 7. The slice tool in PS had the 2 option "slice tool" and "slice select tool" but when i move into image ready from my current work and wanted to combine 2 slices, i only had the "slice tool" in my tools area.
The "slice select tool" which needs to be active to complete my action, is missing. pls help.. I tried resetting my tools but still no sign. The biggest question is how come it shows up in PS and not in imageready?

While I have a 500 Gb hard drive, I notice that the Bridge CS 6 cache is getting larger quickly (looking forward to 1 Terabyte SSDs).

I have most of my images on external hard drives, but Bridge CS6's cache seems to be on my computer.

Can I store the Bridge cache locally?

So, if I have 1000 images on hard drive A, the cache for them would be on hard drive A.

And for 100 TIFFS on hard drive B, the cache would be on hard drive B.

And for the 100 most recent TIFFs I keep on my computer's hard drive, the Bridge cache would be on my computer.

It this what checking the box next to "Automatically Export Caches To Folders When Possible" does or am I misunderstanding this - and this option only puts COPY of the cache files on the external hard drive, but the Bridge cache file on my computer still contains all the images, not matter on which hard drive they'd be?

Sep 6, 2013I am having troubles making a drawing available to an external consultant. My drawing has 12 XREF files so I created an ETRANSMIT (.zip) file and sent it to him with all the drawings. He extracted the .zip into a folder and is able to view the 12 various referenced drawings as well as the layers pertaining to drawing I sent to him but can not see the referenced in drawings in this file.
He keeps getting this error: "One or more referenced files could not be located or read. Number of missing referenced files: 12".

Aug 9, 2012I have received a drawing from a designer, as I often do, but cannot locate the drawing in the model due to unresolved x refs? I have seen this many times on previous drawings but just ignored and continued but on this occassion I cannot find the drawing once I continue!
When I open the drawing I get the message: One or more referenced files have not been located or read. What do you want to do?
Update location of ref files
Ignore and continue.
I understand that the drawing is there somewhere as the preview pane on the open dialogue box shows the model outline but when I open it after going beyond the above step there is no model and only the 0 layer.
