Aug 26, 2007I'm working with rather large files (.tif ~1000mmx600mm 300ppi) and i get this problem: My Photoshop is installed in C: drive which has approximately
5Gb of free space.
When i make a few actions with those large .tif files (like move a layer or something) my drive gets full. I loose all the free space in my drive. I have to save my work and restart the image to free up that lost space. I know that if i leave more free space on my drive i'll be able to make more actions, but eventually the drive will fill up again and i'll have to restart the image again.
The thing is that i'm working with a laptop which has a hard drive with a
5000 rpm. What if buy an external hard drive with a 7200 rpm and 500 Gb and connect it to my laptop. Would this improve the performance of working with those large files?

Nov 27, 2005I'm trying to make a poster in photoshop as a X-mas gift for a friend (he's a huge MJ fan) and I was wondering if I need to change any settings or maybe there's some type of rule or guidline I would need to follow.
The size is 36in x 24in
Would I have to change the color modes or DPI.

Feb 21, 2004I have made a poster for a friend, but when printed the writing always comes out a little fuzzy, how do I get around this? I don't think it is a problem with the printer as it is really good, also the image I created was a high resolution. Does anyone else do poster design? How do you manage to get the writing ultra crisp and clear like pro posters?

Sep 2, 2013I created some posters last year and I need to make them again this year. For some reason I'm not able to increase the font size past 1000.Â

I wrote down the instructions last year. The only thing I can't remember is how I increased the font to 2000. I can get the font size to 1000, but as soon as I increase it nothing shows up on the screen except the blinking cursor.

I'm using Paint.net 3.5.10 build 3.510.4297.28964 on windows 7. I have the image resolution set to 300.

I have also tried this same thing using the latest version of Paint.net on windows 8. I get the same behavior but I can't increase the font size past 900.

I keep finding the dimensions but I'm confused as to what I am to have the resolution bar/ option set at? I want the posters dpi to be 300 or 400.
Also what size should the file be .mb wise?

I'm looking for pale soft images with no real pattern that can be used as a layer above a photograph to give that dreamy but slightly coloured look.

Photoshop :: Resizing And Professional Printing
Sep 18, 2012 how I should prepare several photos for a professional printing lab. Photoshop is not entirely new to me, but there are still several concepts I am still mastering and or trying to fully comprehend.I am trying to create some poster-sized images of some co-workers to hang up around the workplace here. They will replace some older out-dated photos that we already have on the walls. The older, framed and mounted photos are right at 24"(W) x 36"(L). That size includes a thick black border around the actual photo. The actual photo measures approximately 15"(W) x 23"(L), for the portrait orientation.

What I am looking to do is get some new photos printed to the same specifications as 24" x 36". My question is, should I change the image size of the photos I took within Photoshop to match those specifications, or allow the lab to use their "Blow-Up" software?

I've used Lightroom 4 to crop, and make minor edits to my photos. how I should continue with my photos in Photoshop, in order to create the same black border around the photos as well as add a "Motivational Poster-Look" to a couple... All while not losing resolution when planning to print to such a large size.

When I test printed them on a laserjet it came out perfect with all the fades fading to white and all the shadows having no defined edges but simply fading. May 22, 2006I have a problem when viewing my RAW pictures taken from my Canon EOS 20D looking different when comparing them to PhotoShop CS2 and the Canon Digital Photo Professional 1.6.1.0 software that came with the camera. The colors in the Canon software are definitely better than the Photoshop view. I even downloaded the latest edition of Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) version 3.4 from the Adobe website but I can only select ACR 2.4 when viewing them in Photoshop for some reason. I know I can manually set the settings in ACR but am not having much luck getting the colors to match up with the Canon software. Too much red in the Photoshop ACR view. I want to do most of my editing in Photoshop but it is useless if the colors do no match what I print. PhotoShop help states the options to choose from under camera profile in ACR also depends on whether a camera raw has a profile embedded.
How does one get a RAW file in Photoshop CS2 to match the colors in Canon's Photo Professional 1.6.1.0 automatically and how does one get the ACR 3.4 option to appear in the camera profile setting in ACR?

Apr 23, 2013I recently downloaded the student version of Inventor Professional 2013 (64-bit). I made some parts and ran some stress analysis simulations on the parts. I restarted Inventor after running a simulation and upon the reopen, none of the add-ins on the Environments tab were there and the Add-Ins manager does not open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire program, even tried installing different model years of Inventor; none of the versions load the add-ins and the add-in manager fails to load.
