View 6 Replies View RelatedI have created artwork in Photoshop and my dpi was set at 72 dpi for web display. Now I would like to print these but at 300dpi. If I change the dpi it reduces the physical size of my original image and I am afraid that the final print quality will be compromised. How can I be sure that my original image quality will be preserved? Also my original physical document size ranges anywhere from 7-8 inches wide to 8-10 inches high.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI work with photos all day long (my feeble attempt to feel better), but when it comes to graphic design elements I'm really at a loss at reverse engineering. I'm not sure if this will work for me, but I'm thinking of creating some navigation buttons that have the look and feel of the iPod buttons.
I've attached a screen capture from the Apple site for your evaluation. I'm assuming a circle filled with white and a slight gradation going across it from white to a very pale blue. The arrow has some sort of emboss setting applied to it. I'm lost on the very thin outer ring. Is this accomplished through an alph channel selection or just a circle within a circle?
I want to make an interface like that but I'm not sure what to do in layer options.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYou know those iPod commercials from Apple where you have the character in Black or white against a color background? They're usually dancing and the only distinguishing feature you can make on the character is the outline of the iPod.
way to make these without tracing with the selection tool?
I have been working exclusively in Photoshop, but a printer has asked me to provide files in illustrator. The files are for a 1:1 print job (packaging) and do not need to be enlarged. Is there any reason why a printer would not be able to use Photoshop files? Also is there a way to convert the files to illustrator or an equivalent without any loss of quality?

Basically, I need to align tire tracks to a path. I’d like to have 3 pairs of tracks, 2 are wiggly like a drunken driver would cause, and 1 pair is straight, also on a white background.
I've done a bit of photo retouching on faces before: removing skin blemishes, changing eye colour, etc. I've only ever made subtle changes though; I saw a before and after of a photo retouch job on a model that went into a magazine (can't find the link now) and the difference was staggering! Does any one know of a tutorial or reference guide that takes you through the techniques? I know it's a huge topic but I know my way round Photoshop and I'm keen to know the techniques rather than a step-by-step guide.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have tried searching the forum how to do this but all the posts I can find talk about using Illustrator etc. I wish to send a PDF/X, 300 pdi file to a commercial printer (A4 and then A3 versions) using just XDPX.
How do I include bleed margins and crop marks?
I tried to achieve this by creating a custom page oversized from A4 to accommodate crop marks and a 3mm bleed margin. When I exported this as a .pdf I got a displaced image within an A4 page. How do I create a suitable file?
I've created a model of an iPod Nano fourth gen (wich is no where near perfect). This model has a lock switch as a seperate object. What I'd like to do is make a slider helper object and when I move it, the lock switch gradually goes from locked to unlocked. I don't know how I'd have to make this except for the fact that I'd probably have to use a script controller for the position of the switch and have the script work in the parent's (the iPod body) local coordinate system. But I don't have enough knowledge of MAXscript for that and maybe there's a diffrent approach.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been working on a project (original is HD footage) and got a successful render to SD DVD. In trying to render a copy for my ipod i get an added audio problem no matter what ipod setting VSP x3 offers me. It's a background distortion, similar to that of clip that goes in very slow motion and the audio is echoing with reverb. The background noise appears to be in continual " waves".
However, the clip does look excellent otherwise in picture, vocals, musically etc.
I want to send a pdf of a project containing a vignette to a commercial printer. Here's the challenge:creating a vignette (I can do this with layers with a gradient from black to transparent)
saving the picture as a pdf
here's the tricky part defining the black as CYMK 40 30 30 100 (not just a straight RGB to CYMK 0 0 0 100 mapping) to give a dark black when printed by a commercial printerPhotoshop express won't export pdfs Paintshop won't either Photoshop will, Will paint.net??
I attach a rough example to show what I mean.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis post is regarding using Designer Pro to edit print ready PDF's (with crop marks, colour bars etc) created using Photoshop and Illustrator. I can do the edits, but if I try and export the file it corrupts (colour values change, some text changes col)
The files are supplied to me by a designer and sometimes I need to do urgent changes myself before going to print. I have unticked the 'add printers marks' box to avoid a double set of marks and colour bars and have the fonts installed too.
I have uploaded an edge animate cc published html with sound. The html file opens perfectly on my mac pro safari browser perfectly with audio. But when I open the same file on my iphone5 the file opens but no the audio does not play.

I'm making some graphics to be printed on a car. I have some lines with outer glow on them, but Illustrator won't render these unless I use 72DPI in raster effects reslution. I would like to go higher, but it won't give me anything. Guessing it's to heavy for Illustrator maybe? Is there anything I can do about this? I'm making my graphics in 1:1 scale, but I do it in a lower scale since it's just vector art anyway, however how would that effect my glow? Since it's a raster effect.

Repro: Import any footage to a new project - any resolution or frame rate. Create new composition from clip. Type in "Crop" in effects search Double click to load it. Result is an effect called "Wigglerama" & "transform" gets loaded instead of the required "Crop" effect

See attached image below - cannot believe I never saw this before
Have a project and need to find a way to produce a x-ray effect on a object.
Some methods have entered my mind on how this could be accomplished - > inverting the excised object from my photo(s) > desaturate the objects > inject some artificial luminescence with glow or lighting effects > create a canvas for the x-ray - Before any serious time is invested I thought it would be a good idea to see if anyone has done this before, or has any ideas.
how I can create this effect. Can I do that directly with a specific tool or do I have to follow several steps to reproduce something similar.
