Photoshop :: More Realistic Ink And Watercolor Effect (plugin)?
Apr 16, 2013
Is there a plugin out there that does the following effect :
Seems like it would be simple enough to create manually (albeit require some time), but even more simple to automate through a 1-click plugin, if it's out there.

Can you make a Pen Tool path (white), and then, by using the Brush Tool, color it in automatically ONLY within the path's designated area?
Having the ability to do this would enable me to create "digital watercolor" images with texture. I would take the white paths, and then select a color and use the Opacity Tool to make the colors look like watercolor paint by using the Brush Tool. The issue is: can I make a color texture in any path?

filter to apply that gives a watercolor effect such as can be made to work in PS Elements. I really like the way Elements handles it but would prefer to do it all in PSP. Are there such things a plugins for PSP that would work like that?

I am creating a canoeing map for my daughters. I want to change the map from this...
into something that looks more like this...
Specifically, is there a Live Paint Bucket effect that can mimic the blue watercolor border in the antique map?

I have been working at this for about 4 hours and I am still stuck. I am trying to create a padlock from scratch, and have had nothing but problems. Below is one I used as a reference. I created a block for the lock itself and used a gradient fill on it. I then added some filters (noise, blurr, etc.) and came up with a decent though clipart looking lock. I think with some more time I can come closer to the desired effect. My sticking point is on the metal arm. I have tried and tried to duplicate this metallic silver look, and it just looks horrible.

I'm editing a photo of my friend playing a musical instrument. The photo is completely black except for him and the picture is of his profile. I want to add realistic stage lights without the corney lensflare effect. The lights would be added to appear as if the camera is looking right into them.

I must make photos of engraved medallions, and I was wondering if instead of having to engrave and shoot each one I could take pictures of a blank and then use a photoshop text effect to simulate the engraving.
is this is feasible and reasonably easy to do or not?
I'd like to show you what I'm trying to simulate but I apparently need 4 posts to have the right to post links...

Was wondering if there are some ways in converting a highly realistic rendering of an object generated in a 3D program into a more illustrative, simplified, alittle less realistic version in Photoshop?
The object has plenty of silver reflections, HDRI environment map reflections, precise shadows and highlights, etc. I just want to make it look more generic and not as polished I guess.
Are there filters or plugins that will do this in a plug in play method or is it more prodedural and manual?

Does any existing action or plugin that produces a realistic "cut-out template / spray paint" effect like the one seen here?
I know I could accomplish this manually, but it would take a lot longer and I have a series of these I need done.

I'm wondering if there's a plugin to do a shader effect sort of like this photo. Something almost comic-bookish, using dots and such.I've looked briefly at the grid-based plugins, but haven't come up with anything solid.

I recently installed Paint.net (love it!) and was messing around with effects and colors when I stumbled upon this one adjustment/edit . That allowed you to select several colors and make a a threshold and other cool effects with only the colors you selected previously. I thought it was really cool, but I didn't save the photo.

I have original watercolors that I have scanned but need to edit and work with in InDesign. I am getting a gray shadow or hue in the "white" areas between the color. I've tried everything I can think of to remove the gray cast but it seems to be messing with the original color and hue. I've tried scanning at 2400, messing with the contrast, shadow and highlights, curves etc, after 3 days nothing seems to work.

My sister has some drawings that she want to scan and send to me. They use very thin pen ink. She then wants the pen strokes to be colorized and turned into water color strokes. As an experiment I tried using the "Artistic-Watercolor" filter on some thin lines and the results were lame.
All of the watercolor brushes I have seen online seem for comparatively wide stokes. Is there a filter or action that could turn very thin ink stokes into realistic looking watercolor strokes?

i sketch a people face with pencil tools, create another color layer to color the face.
I use a paint brush to paint the face on that color layer, but when i try to apply water color filter the face color turn black color.
Does it mean a single color won't do in a filter effect? even it doesn't work, the color should be remained instead the black color,

I have a 2d drawing of the front view of a house. I would like to make it into a watercolor presentation using autocad. I have tried making polyline boundries and filling in different colors with solid hatch, but it is to opaque and covers up all the architectural details. Is there a way to change the color to transparent? Is there a "watercolor" hatch available. I have tried using a dot hatch pattern, but not quote what I'm looking for.

I am an intermediate at Photoshop CS1, been using it for roughly 1.5 years on and off, however, I am finding it very hard to find any tutorials for realistic terrains for Photoshop.
This image (The arrival) is what I am trying to achieve. You can see that on the bottom of the picture are hills, moutains and grass - I have no idea with where to start to create something similar to this.

I am trying to master cutting out people from backgrounds (especially backgrounds which are a bit complicated - not solid colours). I know there are a number of ways and a number of tools to use, but which is best? The pen tool is great for smooth clean lines, but I struggle with hair and fur on objects. I know there is a more professional way of doing cut outs using Channels and curves and creating a mask.

I've been playing around with photoshop quite a bit these days and I can now make some image that I find really nice... But actually, I'd like to make my images more "Realistic" since they always looks like some drawn stuff.
To be more specific, I'd like to make the images I draw look more realist. For exemple, I draw some sunglasses yesterday, they were nice, but they had a pretty drawn look. Or another exemple, I tried to make a kind of game menu with a screen on the right side and the different parts on the left side, just as if it was a true game menu. To get it a little bit realist, I had to take a metalic wall already made and use it... Also, the effects were not really good looking IMO.
So actually, I don't have a good idea concerning where should I start for this "Realistic path". I searched some tutorials on the web, but the results were not really what I can call "Good tutorials", lack of explanation is a curse.
