Photoshop :: Keyboard Command
May 1, 2009
I recently installed photoshop CS2 on a new computer and the default keyboard command for the arrows to move anything 1 pix at a time is not functioning, I can not find where in the keyboard command editor is the tab for manually inputing the arrows for pix movement.

In CS4 I used the keyboard command, command+space bar, to zoom in to a area I selected with the marquee tool. I used this all the time. With CS6 the same keyboard command works differently. I don't have the option to select the area I want with the marquee tool. Is there a way to do it in CS6?

I want to make it so that whenever I type F for FILLET the MULTIPLE option is selected so I don't have to type F then M. Is there a way to make it so that when I type F it always gives me the multiple option without my having to type F then M? How would I do that?

I have keyboard commands set up for exporting my .idw drawings to .pdf format (PD for me.) I would also like to set this up for exporting my drawing to .dxf format. I think this can be done with a macro that can be activated by a keyboard command, but I could be wrong. I don't want to do this with an iLogic.

There must be some keyboard command to duplicate a graphic style since I seem to do that often unintentionally. What is the command, and can I turn it off? CS 5.5, Mac, OSX 10.8.2.

We are having slow keyboard response while typing in CAD 2010. (It happened a little while using 09 as well). We will start typing a command and our cursor will get ahead of what we're trying to type. Our dynamic input is OFF.

I am currently writing a series of routines for setting the layers for text, leaders and dimension commands. The end goal is a system where any annotation command sets the correct layer for the duration of the command, then reverts back to the layer that was active before the command.
I have managed to complete all the code, and it appears to be working fine, I just have one question: I have used -layer "m" "Lay_name" etc... for all layer setting commands, rather than any code to see if the layer exists already. In my limited testing this seems to be suitable, nothing that exists on that layer seems to be affected.
I know how to write code to determine if the layer exists already and set the layer instead, but so far it seems unnecessary??

I press CTRL+9 to make the Command Line disappear while drawing. When I plot (or when doing a plot preview) , the Command Line appears again by itself. So I always have to turn the Command Line off manually after each plot
The bug still happens;
- if Dynamic Input is turned off or on
- if I plot to a real device or in PDF
- if the Cammand Line Palette i docked or floating.
This is not an issue in AutoCAD 2012 so I guess it has to do with the new way they programmed the revamped Command Line palette in 2013.

I need to save a drawing file and give it the name of my desire using a single command, I don't want to issue "saveas" and then specify the name in the file name prompt. This problem is has been faced when I was using ScriptPro and I couldn't succeeded to do that. Hence I need to know if it is feasible to do the stuff using a single command. It will be preferred if I can choose the location to save the file also rather than save the file to the default location.

without reiterating a lot of what is said in this thread: [URL] ......
This happen outside the potential malware infection?
if you care to not click-through, the problem is that certain commands (not all of them) simply do not disply in the command line. so the MOVE command for example looks like this:
NORMAL:
Command: _move
Select objects:
NOW:
Command:
Select objects:
same with QSAVE and who knows how many others.

I know about the keyboard shortcut keys for the toolbox -- for example, G will activate the Gradient/Paint Bucket tool, whichever is active at that time. I'm wondering if there is a way to use the keyboard to toggle between these two, so I can switch/select one or the other without using the mouse to select.

Having just upgraded to CS2 after years of using Photoshop 7 I am finding that when I try to move or nudge a selection with the keybord arrows (R-L-Up-Down) nothing happens,I end up using my mouse which is a pain and not very accurate in some cases. I'm on a new Dell with XPPro and have tried 3 different keybords with the same result.

I have CS2 with Windows. It has been working perfectly but just recently some of the keys will not respond eg F7 for the layers. Also when trying to put Text on an image the text shows as a line ---------- but shows what is written in the layers comp.
Very annoying as I cannot gauge properly what I want to do.I'm not sure if it is something I have maybe altered in the set up unbeknowingly.

I'm running PS-CS2 and it seems that all my keys are out of wack. None of my shortcuts are working. I go to check out the shortcut setting. Everything is fine until I get to the symbolled shortcuts. The / is an upside down question mark. The [ is actually a U with a ^ above it. Which is suppose to be the decrease brush size, but I found that in to be the Windows Start shortcut. I'm on a laptop and wondering if it made it made the compact keyboard into a full-size.

When you're cropping an image in Fireworks (or any other type of selection box) you can use the keyboard to move the box around, increase or decrease it in size horizontally or vertically all using the keyboard using CTRL + SHIFT + (arrow keys) in 1px increments.

The issue is... I use a Mackbook Pro (with Lion) my keyboard sometimes stops working when I use Photoshop (CS6, but happened the same thing with CS5) (mainly when I do digital painting with a Wacom, but just happened now, when I wasn't use it), and it doesn't work at all (not just with Photoshop)
Sometimes it starts working again on his own, but sometimes it doesn't so I need to restart the computer. Is there any Terminal command I can use to try to do like a restart to the keyboard?

I'm using Mac OS X 10.7.2 on an Intel Core 2 Duo IMac. A few months ago I downloaded PhotoShop 5.1 after having used every previous issue of PhotoShop without a problem.
1. Often when I have Photoshop open on my desktop but not actively using it, it will freeze and I'll have to force quit and restart. When I installed the latest version of InDesign and Illustrator they would also freeze when not in use, however removing and resinstalling them seemed to fix the problem for them, but not for Photoshop.
2.I will be working along on a project when suddenly all of the alphanumerical keys on my keypad won't work. I ultimately have to restart the Mac to get them to work again in any program. This never happens with any other program and I have tried othe keypads, even one just out of the box, and it's always the same.
I have removed and reinstalled Photoshop twice, but still the same issues.I have called the Adobe helpline and tried all of their fixes, but it still happens. They resolved that it must be my Mac. But Mac says because it is related to a specific software it is not their problem.

This new behavior of PS in which you can press a key to select a certain tool, and then pressing the same tool again will select the next tool within that tool category. Is there a way to turn it off? Its making my workflow a mess at the moment. Since in the past I've never needed to depend on looking at what icon I'm using to know what tool is selected, now having to look every time to make sure the right sub-category tool is selected is getting unbearably annoying. I already had my key assignments directly linked to sub-category tools and my workflow was fast since I never had to check anything, I just had to press 1 button and thats it. Now I'm having to take an extra step thousands of times in one afternoon because I end up always not being on the right sub tool.
If I didn't have the 5D MKIII I'd just stick with CS4 but I'm cornered since CR7 is so much better than Canons DPP software.
